Abstract

PT. X is a company that is engaged in testing telecommunications equipment. In its business activities there are some special problems in the current business processes and information systems that are not optimal. This research was conducted to examine the quality of services produced by business processes and information systems used today. The method used is to integrate Business Process Improvement with information systems to improve service quality. The results obtained from this study consist of a conceptual model for getting business processes and designing information systems that have accommodated business process and service improvements.

Abstract

This Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) has been applied for assessing operator of porang cutting machine in agriculture/forestry. An ergonomic team, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering and business statisticians test the porang (amorphophallus muelleri) cutting machine and collect individually data more than 10 examples of postures to produce a new evaluation that combines dynamic and static posture loading factors, human load interfaces (couplings), and new limb concepts the assisted gravity. position. Initial reliability for inter-observer coding shows hope, but further work is needed to establish the trust for the machinery customer.

Abstract

The Plywood company in this study was able to produce 6,000m3/ year of plywood, but during 2018 and 2019 this company was only able to provide 2,905.14 m3/year and 1,120.73 m3/year. Production in 2018 and 2019 is far below the production capacity. This research will apply the lean manufacturing concept in the production process of a plywood company. This research uses value stream mapping (VSM), value stream analysis tools (VALSAT), process activity mapping (PAM), Pareto diagrams, and root cause analysis. It is found extreme categories that occur in many processes, namely processing production and inventory. The recommendations given are to reduce employees and provide adequate storage. The future state VSM shows that a change in a lead time of 68%, and the reduction of the production process is 248.18 minutes.

Abstract

The purpose of frequency spectrum management is to be effective, efficient, and free interferrence in frequency usage. As a Ministry Technical Unit, Balmon Surabaya has the task to supervise and controll the frequency usage in East Java. In carrying out their duties, there are some user’s complaints about Balmon Surabaya services. Therefore it is necesary to improve the quality of service and to know what service factors affecting the customers satisfaction. Objective of this research is to determine the quality of services and technical response that should be done in accordance with expectations of customers. The services as the object of the research are Radio Station License Distribution, Payment Notification Letter Distribution, and Interferrence of Frequency Report Handling. Measurement of the service is performed using Servqual methode while determining the variable to be improved use Important Performance Analysis. Then, Quality Function Deployment is utilized to develop the technical response influencing the service quality. The result shows that the highest gap is providing the free-toll telephone line, the 2nd is mentioning the data/references in giving the informations, and the 3rd is distributing the Payment Notification Letter before the due date. The Importance- Performance Analysis shows that there are 3 variabels in Quadrant I, distributing the Payment Notification Letter before the due date, mentioning the data/refferences in giving the informations, and providing of free-toll telephone line. QFD reveals that there are 3 Technical Responses with highest value of Important Rating of ie., the printing the Payment Notification Letter 2 months before the due date; confirming the letter receipt by the user, and proposing the toll-free number

Abstract

Gas and steam power plant (PLTGU) is a power plant that can operate very quickly from start-up to generate electric power as quick as fifteen minutes compared with steam power plant which takes eight hours. PLTGU can use gas fuel, HSD (High Speed Diesel), MFO (Marine Fuel Oil) as the operating fuel and so that can be said generating reliable and flexible because it can operate in two modes of cycle, open cycle and combine cycle. Power Plant performance sometimes does not match with what we expected, we need a strategy in order to achieve optimal performance. The problem is the generation performance decrease from its optimal condition due to the plant aging, operation and governance pattern. Power Plant XYZ has not achieved the expected performance from 2015 to 2018 which still below 95% averages out of expected target 95% to 100%. In order to improve the performance this research is used KPKU (Kriteria Performa Kinerja Unggul) methods which adopted from the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellent (MBCFPE). The purpose of this study is to boost the company's competitive advantage, improve performance on an ongoing basis, and to achieve the vision and mission and objectives of the company.
