Abstract

The development of the construction in Indonesia is growing rapidly over time, along with rapid economic growth. In its implementation, many projects have problems with work delays so that the project completion is not in accordance with the scheduled time and results in increased costs due to additional completion time. This delay puts the contractor to do a re-planning or commonly referred to as a re-baseline. The inaccuracy of re-planning can have an impact on not achieving revenue targets and having a commercial impact on the construction company. a project performance analysis is needed to anticipate these problems as early as possible. The method used to analyze project performance with a review of the implementation time and budget to manage the dynamics that occur is to use the Earned Value Management method. EVM is a method that is used to determine the progress of a project greater or smaller than the budgeted budget and faster or slower than a predetermined schedule. This study shows that EVM parameters, namely SPI and CPI on 3 PT Projects. XYZ shows both in the field of work (SPI) or budget planning (CPI), PT. XYZ still shows a performance that is not good enough. Whereas EVM Analysis on 3 XYZ Projects shows that the cost requirements needed for project completion are above the budget. The Sugar Factory EPCC Project A based on EVM will require 107% of the BAC value for completion of work, the EVM-based Cooking Plant Construction Project will require 110% BAC for completion of work and the Sugar Factory EPCC Project B based on EVM will require 106% BAC to complete the work. Referring to the EAC calculation and risk mitigation for the costs needed, the Project for the Construction of Edible Oil Plants has the greatest potential to be able to reduce business yields. Through EVM, it was also found that the time for implementing the three projects increased from the duration of the initial planning. The EPCC Project for Sugar A Factory increased for 6 Months, the Cooking Oil Plant Construction Project increased for 5 months and the EPCC Sugar Factory B Project increased for 2 months.

Abstract

PT XYZ is a heavy equipment rental company and mining contractor. One of its working areas is an open coal mine in South Kalimantan, obtained a contract to lease heavy equipment in the form of 14 (fourteen) Caterpillar 773E Off Highway Trucks. Mine owner have availability targets and application of penalties, PT XYZ must implement appropriate maintenance and maintenance strategies. In 2018, the OHT total down time is 34,061.30 hours. For 15,272.00 hours (44.8%) downtime is caused by major component breakdown. The high cost of repairing components makes it difficult for company management to determine the decision to repair. To meet the heavy equipment availability target of mine owner, PT XYZ must implement appropriate maintenance and maintenance strategies. High off Highway Truck (OHT) availability can be achieved by minimizing downtime. The purpose of this research is to determine a general overhaul (GOH) time interval that has the greatest effect on the availability of Caterpillar 773E Off Highway Truck. In order for minimization of downtime to have a significant impact, it must be determined which critical components have the most influence on costs. Next step is determined the GOH interval by considering the smallest cost impact. The results of research show Caterpillar 773E OHT critical components are engine, transmission, final drive and torque converter. The GOH interval is 17,992.81 hours

Abstract

The company carries out various ways to be able to meet customer demand quickly, one of which is to speed up the production process. In the printing process, the company encountered a problem, one of which was the high downtime caused by the setup process. The standard setup time determined by the company is 150 minutes but in fact the time required is 211.33 minutes. This shows that there are inefficient methods applied by the company. In this study, we will evaluate the work method to get errors so that the setup duration becomes high. This study will draw on the Modified Cooper Harper Scale and Single Minute Exchange of Dies (MCH-SMED) method to balance the workload between operators so that the setup time can be reduced. The MCH method is used to analyze the mental and physical workload on an operator based on a tree decision scale so that it can balance the workload between operators. SMED is used to identify on-line and off-line operations in the setup process. This study aims to produce a comparison of the standard setup times that have been set by the company and after evaluating the integration process of printing machine setup (MCH-SMED). The results of this study are to obtain a new sequence of operations that can reduce the duration of setup time to 143.19 minutes or be able to reduce the setup time by 32%

Abstract

Tight competition encourages textile companies to increase their competitiveness to efficient in all fields, especially by reducing material stock to its optimum figures without disrupting production operations. Currently this textile manufacture has implemented SAP as an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. SAP is currently used as material resources planning (MRP), purchasing and inventory control software. Purchases are made automatically using reorder point (ROP) and inventory control using the ABC analysis method. In time being there is no relationship between the ABC analysis method to inventory control and ROP. With this condition, the purchase order for material is raised when the stock level is lower than ROP even these unnecessary, causing the stock to become slow moving and dormant when it reaches six months laying on the warehouse and causing excess inventory. This study aims to design and implement how the ABC method can be used to determine purchasing decisions and which ROP calculations should be used. The ABC multi criteria analysis in this study shows that ABC categorization is acceptable for deciding ROP determination. This method of inventory management has the potential to reduce inventory levels up to 17% and eliminate dormant and slow moving

Abstract

Kalimas River is a water body that passes through the city of Surabaya. The study was conducted on the Kalimas River (Segment of the Bridge Achievement Bridge) with a length of approximately 6 km. Based on the results of the water quality test of the Kalimas River (Prestasi Park-Petekan Bridge Segment) in 2016, it was found that there were several parameters that did not meet the class II water quality standards, namely BOD, COD, DO, TSS, and Phosphate. According to the Surabaya City Regulation2014-2034, the Kalimas River will be used as atourist spot and river transportation service center, so the river water must meet the quality standards for water recreation areas, which is Class II water quality.Due to these problems, the research on controlling water quality is very important. This study uses the Six Sigma method with DMAIC concept. Six Sigma is a continuous improvement effort to determine variations in the process, in order to improve the capability of that process in producing products and minimizing defects. As a characteristic of Six Sigma, DMAIC consists of five stages, which are define–measure–analyze–improve–control. Some parameters that will be used are BOD, COD, DO, TSS, pH, nitrogen, phosphateand total coliform. The first stage is “define”,in which the water quality of the Kalimas River will be measured in the form of BOD, COD, DO, TSS, pH, Nitrogen and Phosphate. Then the “measure” stage will be calculated as Deffect per Million Opportunities (DPMO) and sigma levels. In the “analyze” stage, the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) method is used to determine the root of the problem. “Improve” stage will determine potential solutions or action plans that can be applied. Then the “control” stage is conducted by making a plan to control the implementation of the action plan. The results of analysis at the six points show that there are several parameters that do not meet the Class II water quality standards, namely DO, BOD, COD, TSS, phosphate and total coliform. After calculating the Deffect per Million Opportunities in the“measure”stage, the value of the sigma level is 2.75. In the“analyze”stage, RCA method was used to find the root cause of the Kalimas River (Prestasi Park-Petekan Bridge Segment), and found the root cause was the inclusion of wastewater into rivers and river management systems

Abstract

The application of bio-pore infiltration holes (BIH) can be one solution for urban runoff management by reducing surface runoff to the ground. But, the difference in soil types and characteristics could affect the runoff reduction that can be achieved by BIH. This research aims to determine the runoff reduction can be achieved by bio-pore infiltration hole (BIH) from different soil types and conditions. The methods in this study mainly focus on hydraulic conductivity calculations using Porchet method and the implementation of Minister of Environment Regulation Numb. 12/2009 for the BIH installations. Based on the implementation of Minister of Environment Regulation Numb. 12/2009, the required BIHs for the area of 500 m2 are 1,000, both for silt and clay soils. The runoff reductions that can be achieved with the application of BIHs are 38.98 - 95.73% for silt soils and 20.67 - 54.28% for clay soils, depends on the soil conditions
