Abstract

In this paper, we discuss the generalized linear models with ordinal response for correlated data in nested area. Some basic concepts are described, that is nested spatial, threshold model, and cumulative link function. Due to correlated data used for this modeling, Generalized Estimating Eequation (GEE) is used as model parameters estimation method. Nested is shown by the model building and its application on nested spatially data. In this method, some Working Correlation Matrices (WCM) are able to be specified depend on the nature and type of the data. In this study, 3 types of WCM and 2 types of parameters estimation covariance are used to see the results of parameters estimation from these combinations. As a conclusion, independent WCM is appropriate to the data.

Abstract

The electric vehicle inverter requires an induction motor drive with a high output of voltage and current to reduce the number of batteries used and in turn reduce the vehicle’s weight. In this paper compared two single Phase BuckBoost Inverter (SPBBI), that is between the SPBBI conventional topology with SPBBI new topology uses a buffer inductor. The results of comparison are expected that the new inverter topology can strengthen the voltage greater than the conventional inverter topology. The inverter’s components of capacitor and inductor were reconfigured. The circuit was simulated for various carrier and signal frequencies with various load. The simulation results of the proposed topology compared with the simulation results of conventional topologies commonly used in a variety of frequency and load values. It is shown that the output voltage and current can be strengthened significantly, with a value of more than five times of the output voltage compared to the conventional inverter. The new inverter topology is useful to be implemented for the electric vehicle.

Abstract

The massive spatial expansion of the city into the rural area in recent decades has caused such problems as related to the spatial exploitation in villages surrounding. This raises a question of whether the open space change into land coverage building may have a spatial structure implication on settlement growth and evolution process in the villages surrounding. This paper reports a case study of Kasongan village in Bantul regency, Yogyakarta, Indonesia in between 1973-2010 in which the problem refers to the discussion of spatial structure is rarely addressed especially in village’s settlement growth and evolution analysis. The bound axis which consists of 4 (four) quadrants and one intersection refers to the reference axes in a Cartesian Coordinate System (CCS) is used to analyze the setting of the houses group unit around 4 areas/ quadrants. Through such spatial process analysis by means spatial structure approach, the continuity of latar (yard), in the central of houses group unit is detected. There is finding from this research that the latar which exists in ‘the central point’ of houses group unit in Kasongan during 4 decades significantly becomes the prominent factor of the basic spatial structure. It composes the houses group unit in Kasongan.

Abstract

Driving system of electric car for low speed has a performance of controller that is not easily set up on large span so it does not give a comfort to passengers. The study has been tested in the bumpy road conditions, by providing disturbances in the motor load, it is to describe the condition of the road. To improve the system performance, the speed and torque controller was applied using Field Oriented Control (FOC) method. In this method, On-Line Proportional Integral Derivative Fuzzy Logic Controller (PID-FLC) is used to give dynamic response to the change of speed and maximum torque on the electric car and this results the smooth movement on every change of car performance both in fast and slow movement when breaking action is taken. Optimization of membership functions in Fuzzy PID controller is required to obtain a new PID parameter values which is done in autotuning in any changes of the input or disturbance. PID parameter tuning in this case using the Ziegler-Nichols method based on frequency response. The mechanism is done by adjusting the PID parameters and the strengthening of the system output. The test results show that the controller Fuzzy Self-Tuning PID appropriate for Electric cars because they have a good response about 0.85% overshoot at to changes in speed and braking of electric cars.

Abstract

This study is about field experimentation in order to construct regression equations of perception of thermalcomfort for outdoor activities under hot and humid environment. Relationships between thermal-comfort perceptions, micro climate variables (temperatures and humidity) and body parameters (activity, clothing, body measure) have been observed and analyzed. 180 adults, men, and women participated as samples/respondents. This study is limited for situation where wind velocity is about 1 m/s, which touch the body of the respondents/samples. From questionnaires and field measurements, three regression equations have been developed, each for activity of normal walking, brisk walking, and sitting.

Abstract

The paper presents the dynamic behavior of a Submerged Floating Tunnel (SFT) in the Seribu Archipelago crossing under seismic loadings by using the different cable configurations. The SFT is a tubular structure submerged in the water at a fixed depth, which features several advantages from the structural and environmental impact points of view. In particular, the structural system is suited for waterway crossings in seismicity zones. Its interaction with the water provides additional damping and inertia to the system. To evaluate the SFT structural response of seismic loadings, a response spectrum analyses were carried out, in which the ground multi-support excitation is considered. The investigation of the different cable system configurations were also carried out. Both static and dynamic analyses were carried to find the optimal configuration of the structural system. Although the paper has had a definitive conclusion yet, the results gave useful indications of responses of Submerged Floating Tunnels subjected to earthquake. The SFT with two cable diagonals perpendicular with SFT’s body (called Model C) shows the optimal structural configuration compared with others.
