Abstract

Research on the customer value to an organization has been widely explored, yet most studies only determined on the financial value based on the customer’s purchasing behavior. The value of customers beyond their purchasing behavior –defined as the relational worth - has not been commonly captured yet. This non-financial value is one of the drivers in retaining customers, hence it becomes a crucial factor in preserving the profitability of the organization. For this reason, this paper aims to examine the customer non-financial valuations of a loyalty reward program. The scope of the study covered a reward program involving consumer exertions in the context of a Frequent Flyer Program (FFP) offered by an airline in Indonesia. The hypotheses are empirically tested with a sample of FFP members conducted through an online survey (n=475). The data were statistically analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) as a first order construct. Results indicate that the perceived social rewards lead to an affective and normative commitment as well as consumers’ satisfaction, while the economic reward did not have an effect on developing affective bonds with members for long-term relationships. The relational benefit offered through the FFP creates affectively and normatively committed members who produce relational behaviors, in terms of WOM, immunity, openness and acquiescence of the members to the airline. Furthermore, the FFP members produced social behaviors toward the airline when they felt satisfied with their relational exchanges.

Abstract

The study aimed to assess the role of palm oil and rubber toward the economy in West Kalimantan. Another aim was to develop oil palm and rubber industry to strengthen the economy of West Kalimantan. The method used in this research was the analysis of Input-Output. The main data was the Input-Output (IO) data in 2011 from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), which consists of 54 sectors. The results show that the industrial output of palm oil and rubber, as well as oil palm and rubber, is still low. Weak innovation and technology lead to the low output and role of these two sectors to the economy of West Kalimantan. Another obstacle that leads to the economy of rubber and palm oil industries under the standard is the lack of motivation research, infrastructure, and connectivity.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out what factors that affect the land prices, as well as researching the straight line distance or the distance of travel to public facilities stronnger to influence the land prices. The results of this study are necessary to improve the method of determination of the assessment (the value of tax object used by Indonesia's property tax or Nilai Jual Obyek Pajak called NJOP) used in collection all property taxes in the city ofBogor. The data used in this study was 41 vacant lot in area ofBogor Barat, which has been traded throughout the last six months in 2013. Analysis tool used is the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) regression applied to the models of the hedonic price regression (Hedonic Price Method/HPM). Results of the study was the second model uses the distances of travel to public facilities has adjusted R2 of 0.815, is higher than the first model that uses the straight line distance with an adjusted R2 of 0.803, as well as assessment (NJOP) regression to land prices by 0.682. In the second model, five independent variables that affect the land prices are the distances to education facilities, health facilities, security facilities, terminal facilities, and characteristics of the area surrounding the location of the object of research. Adjustment of the determination of the assessment (NJOP), is expected to increase accuracy and fairness, as well as increasing the property tax revenue that results are needed to expand public utilities in the city ofBogor.

Abstract

The objectives of the study were to analyze the perception, preference, and consumption patternon traditional snack foods and to determine factors influencing consumers'preference on traditional snack foods. The study tested a model of food preferences developed by Khan (1981) which stated that food preference was a function ofpersonal factors, economics, education, biology and psychology, extrinsic and intrinsic factors, cultural, regional andreligious factors. The data were randomly selected from the Greater Jakarta (Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, Depok and Jakarta) in July 2011. The number of samples was 503 respondents. Structural Equation Model was employed to analyze factors influencing preferences toward traditional snack food. The results showed that personalfactors, biology andpsychology, andintrinsic factors had significant effects on consumer preferences toward traditional snack food. Socio economic factors had significant influence on personal factors which meant that socio economic factors had significant indirect effect onconsumerpreferences through their effect onpersonal factor. Similar finding wasalso found in the effect of extrinsic factor which had indirect effect on consumer preferences through their effect of intrinsic factor and biological/psychological factors.

Abstract

Abstract. The goal of relational program is to retain customers who are profitable to the organization. Reward point is a form of customer loyalty widely used by many industries including airline industry. Airline loyalty program, notorious as Frequent Flyer Program (FFP), is the most sophisticated marketing strategic used by airline industries nowadays. However most airlines have very little understanding of their FFP members yet have a little knowledge about their most valuable customers. Most airlines have inaccurately determined the customer values by only considering business worth of nominal profit generated by FFP members. The value of customers beyond purchasing behavior - called relational worth - has not been commonly captured yet. This non-financial value is predicted as a driver in retaining customers, hence becomes one of crucial factors in preserving the profitability of the organization. For this reason, this paper aims to examine the customer non-financial valuations of FFP members to the airline. The hypotheses are empirically tested with a sample of FFP members of respected airline conducted through online survey (n=475). The data were statistically analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). Results indicate that perceived rewards generate higher value of relational worth through indirect relationship by intervening variable of relationship quality than that of generated by a direct relationship. Keywords:Frequent Flyer Program,Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Loyalty Reward Program, Relationship Quality, Relational worth Abstrak.

Abstract

Organizational Capability is considered to be one of the most important issues in strategic management and human capital literature. Organizational Capability can be understood as the all elements that work efficiently and effectively to help organization create its strategy that fits to its industry level of turbulence and to achieve company performance.  Previous research  confirmed the identification  of nine (9) elements as organizational capability. These are speed innovation, customer connectivity, seeks related change,  strategic  responsiveness,  international working  environment,  ready  to  strategic  alliances, efficiency  and  talent. Research  confirmed  that Organizational Capabilities  have  positive  impact  to Organizational Performance. Research shows the connection between the three variables –Leadership –Organizational Culture and Political Behavior in creating Organizational Capability and its impact to Organizational Performance. Structural Equation modeling shows that Leadership and Organizational Culture do not have direct relationship with Organizational Performance, however both have positive relationship  with  Organizational  Capability.  Organizational  Performance  was  directly  influenced positively by Organizational Capability and negatively impacted by Organizational Politics. Leadership positively impact Organizational Capability and Organizational Culture, however leadership negatively impact Organizational Politics. Keywords: Strategic Management,Organizational Capability,Strategic Leadership, Culture,Organizatinal Politics,Government Owned Companies

Abstract

Pathogenesis of Needle Blight of Pinus merkusii Seedlings Incited by Pestalotia theae in The Nunery. The objectives of theiudy were to clarify the mechanism by which Pestalotia theae  incites the disease and the defense mechanism of the pine seedling  against the attack by the pathogen. The germination tube,2.9 µm in diameter, produced by the germinating conidiospore penetrated the leaf cells via the stomata, which were wider in diameter. The pathogen was able to produce pectinolytic and cellulolytic enzymes required for the degrading of the host cell wall components. The epidermis was covered-by a thick cuticulae layer. The activity of the peroxidase reduced in the cotyledon, the primary leaf and in the secondary leaf decreased, when the seedlings were 1-2,2-3, and >3 month old.

Abstract

Education is the basic capital to create quality economic growth. Skillful and competitive human resources are a source of basic capital to create religious industrial technological innovation in order to support quality economic growth. This study aims to (1) analyze the relationship between education and growth in Indonesia and (2) compile a formulation of education policy as an important driving factor in long-term growth. The observation units analyzed were 33 provinces in Indonesia in the period 2013-2015. The data is then analyzed using the Data Analysis Panel approach. The results showed that the level of prosperity and prosperity was positively correlated with regional economic growth. This shows that the more qualified human development and increasing prosperity, the better economic growth in the region. Furthermore, the better the quality of education, the better economic growth. This result is inversely proportional to the large number of universities where the number of tertiary institutions does not have an influence on regional economic growth. This shows that the number of universities does not have a positive effect if it is not balanced with the number of qualified lecturers.
