Abstract

Working as an addiction counselor involves specific challenges that might increase one's predisposition to suffering from psychopathology. Therefore, it is paramount for counselors to maintain holistic self-care and self-improvement. The mindfulness approach has good efficacy for improving the wellness of the clinical population, but data regarding its use for health workers, including addiction counselors, are limited. Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) comprises specific exercise procedures usable for stress management and improving counselors' overall well-being. Related to the notion, other than discussing salient challenges faced by addiction counselors, this paper also discusses how a mindfulness-based approach might be applicable among addiction counselors, added with a brief guide for performing the MBSR.

Abstract

Terasi is a food made from shrimp or rebon and then processed by fermentation. This processed food must keep the quality of food safe and apply good sanitation and hygiene from the beginning of production to the hands of consumers. This study used descriptive quantitative with descriptive observation method. The sample in the study used a total sampling technique consisting of 15 traders and terasi. The variables in this study were personal hygiene, terasi storage, serving terasi, Rhodamine B contains, and total bacteria of E.coli. The results showed that the personal hygiene of terasi traders at Tanjung Market, Jember Regency was in the sufficient category (53%) and as many as (47%) were in the good category. Most of the terasi storage (80%) are qualified. Most of the serving of terasi (93%) are qualified. The result is Rhodamine B was found in 5 terasi samples also there is E.coli in 2 terasi samples.

Abstract

Farmers are vulnerable to heavy physical work, pesticides used, and climate change, which are risks of health problems. The farmers' perception of the symptoms of the disease that appear will influence the management of the health problems they experience. This perception is influenced by spirituality as part of the farmer's support system in living his life as a human being who is also a spiritual being. This study aims to find out how the relationship between spirituality and the perception of illness in the farmer community in Tamanarum Village, Magetan. The study used a cross-sectional approach with a cluster random sampling technique. The respondents were 367 people who met the inclusion criteria. Data were collected through illness perception questionnaires and the Daily Spiritual Experience Scale (DSES). Data were analyzed univariate and bivariate with the Kendall Tau test α= 0.05. The majority of farmer communities had high spirituality, with 336 respondents (91%), and 329 respondents (89.6%) having a positive perception of illness, and there is a relationship between spirituality and perception. It can be concluded that many factors influence the perception of illness, and spirituality plays a role in individual understanding, which is closely related to responding to symptoms of illness.
