Abstract

The purpose of the research are to describe the types of students’ errors based on Watson's criteria assessed from their mathematical ability and gender, and examine the causes of students’ errors. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data collection methods used are observation and interviews. The subjects of the study were 6 students consisting of 3 male students and 3 female students of class VIIIB of SMP 4 Jember which each students represented a high, medium, and low level of mathematics ability. Based on the results obtained, many students experience errors when working on the Two Variable Linear Equation System problem, both for male and female students at the level of high, medium, and low mathematical abilities. Abstract

Abstract. The aim of the implementation of teaching and learning activities at the Extraordinary School is to achieve the learning objectives. One of the procedures to improve the quality of education is implementing School Based Curriculum (SBC) fully. A data collecting method used in this research are interview, observation, documentation and questioner. The data obtained from interview, observation, documentation and questioner will be analyzed by qualitative descriptive techniques. Based on the result, the propernes of SBC implementation for mathematics learning in SMPLB-A and SMPLB-B shows 67,22% with “Good” category and 82% with “Very Good” category, respectively. In general, the implementation of SBC for mathematics learning at SMPLB has been applied properly but there are some modification done by teachers. Key Words: SBC, Implementation

Abstract

Abstract. Numbered Head Together (NHT) is a kind of cooperative learning which specially designed to prevent the dominance of a certain student in the learning process. In fact the PQ4R method is used to help students to remember what they have read of some steps, namely preview, question, read, reflect, recite, and review. The subject of the research is grade VII B students of SMPN 2 Sukowono. The data collection methods used in this research are test, observation, interview, and documentation. The result of this research showed the increase of students’ activities and achievement. Clasically the students’ achievement of the cycle I was 10,5% and in cycle II increased to 86,80%. The result of this research also received a good response from the teacher and students. It was proven with increase of the students’ activities and achievement. The application of NHT type of cooperative learning and PQ4R method can increase their activities and achievement. Abstract

Abstrak. Model sistem kekebalan tubuh terhadap infeksi Mycobacterium tuberculosis telah dikembangkan dan dikemas dalam bentuk sistem persamaan diferensial biasa non linier order satu. Model tersebut sangat komplek sehingga memerlukan metode numeric untuk menyelesaikannya. Salah satu metode numerik yang yang efektif adalah metode Runge-Kutta. Penelitian ini akan merumuskan formula metode Runge-Kutta order sembilan, dan menentukan sifat dari metode tersebut sebelum merumuskannya, serta menganalisis konvergensi dan efektivitas dari metode Runge-Kutta order sembilan bila dibandingkan dengan metode Adam Bashforth-Moulton order sembilan. Metode dikatakan efektif dan efisien bila error yang terjadi pada metode dalam menyelesaikan model semakin kecil (menuju nol) dan waktu yang dibutuhkan metode untuk menyelesaikan model matematika semakin sedikit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode Runge-Kutta order sembilan lebih efisien dan efektif dibandingkan metode Adam Bashforth-Moulton order sembilan dalam menyelesaikan model sistem kekebalan tubuh terhadap infeksi Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Kata kunci : Metode Runge-Kutta order sembilan, konvergensi, efektivitas, model sistem kekebalan tubuh terhadap infeksi Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Abstract

Abstract.Cooperative learning by using change of pairs technique is a learning model which gives chancefor thestudentstoask andstrengthentheir answerfor the exercises.This research implementscooperative learning by using change of pairs technique to reduce student’s errorin solving problems of area of trapezoid. The subject of the research is grade VII A students of SMP Negeri 7 Jember. The type of this research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The data collection methods used in this research are observation, documentation, interview, and test. The result shows that the errors are decreasing; misused data decrease from 50% to 0%; distorted theorem or definition decrease from 59,38% to 12,5%; technical errors decrease from 61,25% to 9,34%; and other error decrease from 27,5% to 1,25%. The result also shows that the activity of the students and the teacher in teaching and learning process are increasing. KeyWords:changeofpairs technique, student's error, area of trapezoid

Abstract

Abstract.A comparison of the students learning outcomes by using STAD cooperative model with a jigsaw type ( experimental research at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Genteng – Banyuwangi, Department of Mathematics Education and mathematics Science, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Jember University. The purpose of this research was to compare learning outcomes between students who were taught with cooperative learning model STAD type with jigsaw type. This study was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Genteng. The total number of the students in grade VIIC and VIID was 66 students. The data was gathered by using achievement test and observation in form of questionnaire. The value of 5% significant coloum was 6,193 and the value of t table 5,671. It can be concluded that there was different mean score between cooperative learning STAD and Jigsaw. The result showed that in learning STAD class was 3,14 and the result of Jigsaw was 2,68. Thus it can be concluded that the learning by using cooperative learning jigsaw type better than classes taught by type STAD cooperative learning. Abstract

Abstract.The use of ICT in Indonesianeducation especially in the field of mathematics is less optimal. It would require the development of materials that use e-learning to facilitate students in learning. The device was developed by a model of learning missourimathematics project (MMP). The developments of material methods are using the method of Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel. Based on the results of the expert appraisal, validity coefficient of lesson plans,worksheets,student books, THB and e-learning in a row is 0.94; 0.96; 0.90; 0.93 and 0.92 which means the device is already valid. Observations of teachers in managing the learning ability, the percentage of student activity, student questionnaire responses, student self-assessment questionnaires and tests learning outcomes showed that the device is practical and effective. Abstract

Abstract.ARIASlearning modelis a cooperative learning which consist five components. They are Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assesment, Satisfaction. The purpose of this research are knowing application of ARIAS learning model to reduce errors of solving perimeter and area of plane problems.The kind of this research is about PTK usingqualitative approach. The method to collected data in this research usedobservation method, interview, and test. This research was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Jember which the subject of research are students of X AP 1class academic year 2012-2013. The data of research are students’ activities and errorsof solving perimeter and area of plane problems. In the beginning of test, total precentage of students’ mistake is 98,11% with average precentage of mistake is 19,62%.In the test 1, total precentage of students’ mistake is 97,64% with average precentage of mistake is 19,53%,but at the end of test 1 there is increasing in some kind of mistakes. At the end of test 2, total precentage decreased until 45,95% with average precentage is 9,19%. Analysis of percentage of errors conclude the application of ARIAS learning model can reduce errors of solving perimeter and area of plane problems. Key Words: ARIAS learning model, errors, plane.

Abstract

Abstract. The house fire will produce smoke and hot gas. When we are trapped inside the house fire, we need a secured evacuation path to escape. In this research talk about mathematical model analysis on the spread of house fire by using a finite volume method. Researcher will study the simulation of smoke and hot gas by utilising a mathematical model. We will also model the spread of hot smoke equations based on momentum and energy models. We used Matlab to analyse the spread of smoke and hot gas and use Fluent software to have a graphic animation. The result of simulation with Matlab and Fluent are chart, tables, and images spread of smoke and hot gas. The result shows that te spread of the smoke and hot gas depends on the epicentrum of fire. The minimum value on the biggest labels make a graph G, has irregular labeling which is defined as total edge irregularity strength and denoted by tes(G). In this article, The total edge irregularity strength of diamond ladder graph and the union of diamond ladder graphs (isomorphic) are determined.
