Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to describe the profile of sudent’s creative thinking skill in solving problems of TIMSS model geometrical content. Indonesian students’ achievement in international mathematics test TIMSS were at low benchmark especially in geometrical content. The reasearch subject were 6 randomly selected students of 64 students from Grade 8A and 8B SMPN 1 Bondowoso. Methods of data collection in this research used tests and interviews. Creative thinking skill aspects are fluency, flexibilty, originality and elaboration. Based on the analysis of the data, the results show that 1 student is categorized as very creative (level 4), 3 students are creative (level 3), and 2 students are categorized as quite creative (level 2). The level 4 student (S3) achieved all aspects as well as fluency, flexibility,originality and elaboration. The student gave variation of answers and interprete problems in different prespectives although he did not often get it. The level 3 students (S1, S4, and S6) can achieve fluency, flexibility, and originality aspect. The level 2 students (S2 and S5) tend to achieve two aspects of creative thinking. Abstract

This study describes the level of student problem solving based on NCTM SMPN 7 Jember students in solving SPLDV problems using the jumping task method. Data collection methodswhich used are tests and interview. The subjects studied further in this study were 3 students, one student was included in the level of “very good” problem solving, one student falls under the category of “good” at problem solving, and the other one belongs to the category of “moderate”. The results showed that 7 people were included in the very good category, 18 people were in the good category, 13 people were in the category of “moderate” and no one was in the category of “poor”. Abstract

This study aims to describe a gender-based of students' misconceptions in contextual solving one variable quadratic equations. The research subjects were 6 students consisting of 3 students for each gender in Argopuro Panti High School. Data collection methods used are tests and interviews. Based on data analysis, the results of the study show that there are several misconceptions experienced by students namely misconception of notation, square root misconception, misconception of chancellor law and / or multiplication identity, misconception of side length comparisons, and constructive misconceptions. Based on the 3 subjects of each gender it can be concluded that male students experience more misconceptions at the stage of carrying out the plan, namely the chancellor's law misconceptions and or multiplication of identity rules, misconceptions in side length comparisons, constructional misconceptions, and notation misconceptions, while female students experience more misconceptions at the stage of revisiting namely square root misconceptions, misconceptions of side length comparisons, constructional misconceptions. Misconceptions that occur in both genders are misconceptions of notation, misconceptions in comparison of side lengths and misconceptions about building space. The teacher must be able to distinguish students who experience errors and misconceptions, because if the student is classified as a student of misconception, then the teacher must be able to deal with it immediately and precisely, because it can affect the mindset and learning outcomes of students.

Abstract

Abstract. Reciprocal teaching is a learning approach that implements four independent comprehension strategies namely summaries, preparing questions, clarify and then predict. It can also improve the students achievement in the classroom so it can minimalize student’s error in the topic of statistics. The subject of the research is grade IXF students of SMPN 1 Pakusari. The data collection methods used in this research are test, interview, observation, and documentation.. The result showed that there are decreasing in every error; 9,38% and 3,57% for data used error; 16,96% and 0,89% for used theorem and definition error; 10,71% and 17,41% for technique error and 3,57% and 1,76% for other error. The result also showed that the teaching learning activity using reciprocal teaching got a good responses from the teacher and students, only a few of them had a poor responses. Those good responses were proved by the improvement of studends activity that use all of the body. Beside, there is also an effect on students thought between before and after teaching and learning process. Those all showed that reciprocal teaching can shift the students minimalize the students error in learning esspesially in the topic of statistics Key Words: Reciprocal Teaching, student’s error, statistics

Abstract

Abstract. The purposes of ARIAS (Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assesment, Satisfaction) learning model are improving motivation, achievement and result of student learning. Guided discovery method has characteristics to improve the student’s abstract minds. The research aims to know process and result of development of mathematics learning materials based on ARIAS learning model with guided discovery method at sub topic of circle at grade eight of Junior High School. Learning materials development model refers to 4D Thiagarajan models. The products of this research are lesson plan, student book, worksheet, and evaluation test. Based on validation process and tryout the learning materials can be concluded that the learning materials had been appropriate with validate, practice, and effective criteria. Abstract

Abstract. Materials to produce fertilizer are NH3 Liquid and CO2 gas. Required CO2 gas should be free from condensation, so CO2 gas is refrigerated in intercooler. In this research, we analyse of mathematic model for heat transfer in fluid with finite volume method. We will review how the CO2 gas cooling process from mathematics model point of view. We will model the equations for CO2 gas cooling process which includes momentum dan energy. After that this model will be discretizatied. For numerical solution, we will use Matlab and Fluent to simulate CO2 gas cooling process. The simulation result using Matlab and Fluent forms will be presented descriptively in charts, tables, and images to show how the distribution process of heat transfer. The result show for error is 0,0087. In conclusion the model accurate for solving heat transfer process in CO2 gas. Key Words : Mathematics Models, Heat transfer, Finite Volume Methode,

Abstract

Abstract. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas metode Adams Bashforth-Moulton dalam menganalisis model penularan virus Rabies. Model matematika sistem penularan virus Rabies direpresentasikan dalam bentuk persamaan diferensial biasa (PDB) non linear orde satu sehingga sulit diselesaikan dengan metode analitik. Metode numerik Adams Bashforth-Moulton order dua belas digunakan dalam penelitian ini karena sudah terbukti merupakan metode yang lebih teliti dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan yang sulit diselesaikan secara analitik. Sebagai perbandingan, digunakan metode Adams Bashforth-Moulton order sembilan untuk menganalisis tingkat keakuratan dan keefektivannya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode Adams Bashforth-Moulton order dua belas memiliki nilai error yang lebih kecil dibandingkan metode Adams Bashforth-Moulton order sembilan. Hal ini menunjukkan metode Adams Bashforth-Moulton order dua belas lebih efektif dalam menganalisis model dinamika penularan virus Rabies. Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this research is to know process and result of Development of Mathematics Learning Instruments Based on Realistic Mathematics Education by Setting of Cooperative Two Stay Two Stray for System of Linear Equation in Two Variables topic at eigth grade of Junior High School. Learning instruments development model refers to Plomp models. The research has product namely lesson plan, student book, worksheet, and evaluation test. The products refer to steps of Realistic Mathematics Education and phases of Two Stay Two Stray. Based on validation process and tryout of learning instruments, it can be concluded that the learnig instruments have satisfied of the validaty, practice, and effective criteria. Abstract

Abstract. Cooperative learning model make a match type with a task accompanied recitation method is one of the techniques in learning models that provide opportunities for students to work together with others in which the application using the card as a medium to organize student interaction patterns supported by administration duties along with responsibility in the classroom to strengthen learning materials. This research aims to determine the application of these learning to improve the activities and student learning outcomes in the subject learning grade X of broadcasting linear program at SMKN 1 Jember. This research is a classroom action research using a qualitative approach. The results showed increased activity and student learning outcomes. Student activity increased from the first cycle with the percentage 69.8% to 89.42% in the second cycle. While the learning outcomes of students also increased from the first cycle with the percentage 78.57% to 85.71% in the second cycle.
