Abstract

This reserach aims to analyze the student error and determine the percentage of student error doing word problems on subject of the quadrilateral based on Newman’s Error Analysis (NEA) viewed from mathematical logic intelligence. This research use a qualitative approach and the type of research is descriptive. Subject in this research are 6 students in class VII H of Junior High School 7 Jember. Data collection was performed by the method of test and interview. There were 7 students who have high mathematical logic intelligence, 21 students who have medium mathematical logic intelligence, and 9 students who have low mathematical logic intelligence. The result of research showed that the error made by students with high mathematical logic intelligence consist 10% reading error, 3,3% comprehension error, 3,3% transformation error, 3,3% process skill error, and 6,7% encoding error. The error made by students with medium mathematical logic intelligence consist 10% reading error, 6,7% comprehension error, 16,7% transformation error, 13,3% process skill error, and 13,3% encoding error. The error made by students with low mathematical logic intelligence consist 13,3% reading error, 13,3% comprehension error, 20% transformation error, 20% process skill error, and 13,3% encoding error. Abstract

Abstract. Ethnomatematics is the mathematics that is applied by a group of culture unconsciously. The study is conducted at Kalibaru Banyuwangi. The aim of the study is to to describe ethnomatematics and to make a pack of test questions concerning to ethnomatematics on kitchen equipment craftsmen. The type of this research is qualitative with the ethnographic approach and two subject research. Calculating activity appears when determining the length and width of a body with a certain size, determining the height of the filter location, determining the size of the length for the base and lid, making the net cover, determining the volume of parts, determining wages, and making certain diameters. Measuring activity arises when measuring the location of the filter's height, measuring the length and width of the casing, measuring the length of the radius of the base and lid, and measuring the length of the wire. Designing activity arises when the craftsman makes a ruler, makes a filter hole, makes the nets close, and emerge mathematical concept about two-dimentional figure and three-dimentional figure. Making student teaching materials in the form of a package of test questions with the topic of ethnomatematics on craftsmen in the making of dandang with material to construct curved side spaces. Abstract

This research aims to (1) describe the process of developing learning instrument based on problem based learning model and jumping task based on enumeration rule for high school students; (2) describe the of developing learning instrument based on problem based learning model and jumping task based on enumeration rule for high school students. The learning instrument developed are Lesson Plan and Student’s Worksheets. This research took place at XI MIPA 5 of senior high school 1 Tempeh, Lumajang with consists 33 students. This research is development research. Steps and results from development were (1) the development process of using modified Thiagarajan, Semmel, and modified Semmel model which consists of 3 stages, (2) development results were validation test from validation sheet analysis that score 3.54 for Lesson Plan validatiy coefficient and 3,54 for Student work sheets validaty coefficient with valid category, practicality test from teacher’s activity analysis scored 88,88% for the first meeting and 93,05% for the second meeting with good category and include in practical category, and efectiveness test from students activity analysis in the first and second meeting that the average percentage was 92.05% and 93.18%, average of student’s questionnaire results obtained 90,90%, and the average Learning Result Test results obtained 78.19 and the percentage of Learning Result Test is 78.78% in the effective category. Abstract

This study aims to determine the student combinatorial thinking process in solving SPLTV problems. The research subjects were 5 auditory students in class X BIC 1 MAN 1 Jember. Data collection methods used are tests and interviews. Based on data analysis, the results of the study indicate that auditory students are able to use the concept and competence to provide combinatorial reasoning. At the stage of investigation the case students able to explain information, at the stage of calculating all cases, being able to write information using symbols but not being able to write down what was asked about the problem using symbols. At the systematic stage of generating a case, being able to make a plan so as to find a solution. At the stage of changing the problem into other combinatorial, able to find solutions more than one method or more than one method but there are students who have not been able to find solutions more than one method or more than one method, able to describe the reason or cause of the solution obtained. Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to: improve the independence of students in learning mathematics through Cooperative Learning methods and make a match strategy using authentic assessment. This type of research is the Classroom Action Research (CAR) collaborative. The subjects are students in grade VIII SMPN I Gumukmas  School Year 2011/2012, amounting to 33 students as subjects who received the action. Implementation of the action is the subject of research. Subjects who supported the implementation of the math are teachers and principals. Data collection methods are used the method of observation, test methods, reviews and documentation methods. Data analysis technique is implemented in a descriptive qualitative. It is found on the average the students activity improve 66,7% at siklus I become 78,8% at siklus II, and the teacher activity improve 4,66%. The classical thoroughness improve 33,34%. So the conclusion of this research is the application of the make a match approach can improve theostudent achievmentoinklearningomathematics. Abstract

Abstract. Guided discovery method by contextual teaching is a learning way where students can find a concept with teacher guidence who motivates them to combine the knowledge taken from daily life. Beside that, it can also improve students’ activity and achievement in the teaching learning activity. The subject of the research is students of VII F grade of SMPN 1 Rambipuji. The data collection methods used in this research are documentation, observation, interview and test. The result of research showed that the increasing of students’ activity and achievement. The average percentage on the first cycle was 60,87 % and the second cycle was 72,54%. Whereas, the students’ average score of the last meeting in the first cycle was 74,49 and the second cycle was 81,24. The result also showed a good responses from the teacher and students. The good responses were proved by the increasing of students’ activity and achievement. Beside, there was also an effect on students thought between before and after teaching and learning process.Overall the guided discovery method by contextual teaching can improve students’ activity and achievement. Abstract

Abstract.The aim of the study is to describe the implementation of role playing which decrease the student's error, to describe the student's activities in implementation of role playing method and to describe reduction of the student's error in completing questions after the implementation of role playing method. The subject of the study is the students of VII A class at SMPN Sukowono. In addition, the research design that is used in this study is classroom action research. The data were collected by using observation, interview, achievement test and documentation. The percentage result of the student’s activity observation showed that 54.91% in the beginning learning activity and 71.23% in the end of student’s learning activity. Moreover, the percentage of teacher’s activity is 90% and 96.67%. Besides that, the percentage of the student’s error in completing questions showed that it decreased from 42, 43% to 29.14%. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the implementation of role playing method goes well, so it can help to decrease the student’s error in completing question of social arithmetic. Abstract

Abstract.Quantum Teaching is real life learning strategy with relevances social nuances. Quantum Teaching consists of four steps, namely Tumbuhkan (Motivate), Alami (Do), Namai (Symbolize), Demonstrasikan (Demonstrate), Ulangi (Repeat) (TANDUR, for short). The research purpose is to analyze thestudents learningachievement and activities. The research design is Classroom Action Research (CAR). It consists of four stages. Plan, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research was done in two cycles. The result shows that the percentage of student learning achievement and activities respectively increase from cycle I to cycle II, namely 75% to83,33% and 70,27 % to 83,55%. It can be concluded that the application of Quantum Teaching with Crosswords puzzle technique can effectively improve studentlearning achievement as well as their activities. Abstract

Abstract.Inquiry is the learning model that emphasis oncritical thinkingand analyticalprocesstofind their ownanswers toaproblem,andSAVIis a combinationof physical movementand intellectualactivity. The aims of this research is to know implementation of inquiry learning model with SAVI approach to increase students mathematic outcome and student’s activity for the students of class IX. Type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) and the study design used was a model scheme Kemmis dan Taggartstudy research design were consists of 4 phases include planning, action, observation, and reflection. Thesubject of the research isIX C students of SMP Negeri 2 Jenggawah and material was chosen surface area and volume of curved space geometry. The data collection methods used in this research was observation, interview, test, and documentation.In the first cycle, completeness student’s activity is 77,05% and the student learning outcomes classically is 72,22%. And the second cycle, completeness the student’s activity is 86,57% and the student learning outcomes classically is 86,11%. So the increase of the both cycle classically above was 13,89%. The result shows that the completeness of student’s activity and result learning has increased well. Abstract

Abstract. Developing CTL approach of learning materials focused on learning community need to developt this time, due to the fact that students are not only abble to understand realisticly but also they should be able to work in a group. The purpose of the research is to discrible the process and result of develompent of CTL mathematics learning material focused on learning community for triangle topic seventh grade student of Junior High School. The development model refers to Plomp model, namely investigation, design, realisation, test, evaluation, revition, and implementation. The products of this research are lesson plan, worksheet, and evaluation test. Based on validation process and learning materials tryout, it can be concluded that the learning materials have fulfilled approprite with validaty, practicy, and effectivy criteria.
