Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to describe students creative thinking skill of VIII grade SMP Negeri 4 Jember in solving mathematical problem using local wisdom PISA test of quantity content. The local wisdom used in this research comes from Jember regency, namely “petik laut” and “sangkar burung” in Dawuhan village. The subject is choosen from class VIII G based on the students' mathematical skill which is taken from the UTS score that has been obtained. The classification shows that there are 7 students with the high score, 23 students in the middle level, and 6 students get the low score. The research subjects consist of 2 students in each category of mathematical skill. Data analysis is done based on problem-solving tests and interviewing tests. The students with high math skills are able to achieve 2 key components of creative thinking, namely, fluency, and flexibility. The students with the middle level of math skills are able to achieve 1 key component of creative thinking, namely, fluency. The students with low math skills are unable to achieve the three key components of creative thinking: fluency, flexibility, and novelty. Keywords: Creative Thinking, Math Skill , Local Wisdom

Abstract. If G = (E,V) is a simple graph, connective and undirected graph that has a set of vertex (V), set the edge (E), d(v) is the degree of a v Є V(G) and d(u) is the degree of an edge u Є E(G). The number of maximum and minimum degree of the graph G is denoted respectively by Δ(G) dan δ(G). Proper k-coloring graph G is c : V(G) ᴜ E(G) to a colored set which have to fulfill the conditions of : [1.] for each v Є V(G), |c(N(v))| ≥ min[r,d(v)+ |N(v)|] dan [2.] for each e = uv Є E(G), |c(N(e))| ≥ min[r,d(v)+d(u)]. R-dynamic color number of a graph G is denoted a minimum color of k in graph. This article discuss about total r-dynamic coloring of graph . Abstract

Abstract. This research is a descriptive research with qualitative approach. The purpose of this research was to discribe visual-spatial intellegence of X MIPA 6 grade and X MIPA 7 grade based on students gender. Subject of this research consist of 67 students. Data collection methods in this research are Test and interviews. Indicators in this research were arranged based on four characteristics of visual and spatial intellegence, namely imagining, conceptualizing, problem-solving and pattern-seeking. The results of test and interviews will be analyzed by looking at achievements of the indicators from each characteristic of visual-spatial intellegence. Based on data analysis obtained tendency both male students and female students were only able to fulfill the first and second indicator from 4 indicators of imagining characteristics ; for conceptualizing characteristics, both male and female students tend to be able to fulfill each indicator; for problem-solving characteristic both male students and female students tend to be only able to fulfill the first indicator but the others were not; Next for pattern-seeking characteristic both male students and female students were able to search for the patterns and capable to fulfill any given indicators. Abstract

Abstract. Radiator is heat exchanger which used in the cooling system of inside combustion engine, especially car and motorbike, but there are many tipe are used in airplane engine with piston and train engine. In car and motorbike engine, radiator use a liquid as cooler which this liquid will absorb heat from engine cylinder until head cylinder, next the liquid will flow into radiator to be cooled using outside air and if the liquid temperature is decrease, it will be pumped back to engine. This research is to create a mathematic modelling about fluid flow inside a radiator car with single row type. Mathematic model which created is a differential equation based on phisic law in two dimension. The force which effected in this radiator is a initial temperature, velocity of fluid, and viscousity of the fluid. The equation which used in this model is mass equation. Abstract

Abstrak. This research aims to (1) analyze the development process of mathematics learning media with discovery learning model by paying attention to cognitive load in trigonometry subject at tenth grade of vocational high school; (2) analyze the development result of mathematics learning media with discovery learning model by paying attention to cognitive load in trigonometry subject at tenth grade of vocational high school. Mathematics learning media that were development are Lesson Plan and students’ worksheet. This research took place at tenth grade KIA 2 of vocational high school 5 jember with consists 36 students. This research is development research. Process and result from development were (1)the development process of using modified thiagarajan model which consists of 3 stages; (2) development result were validation test from validation sheet analysis that scored 3,80 for Lesson plan validatiy coefficient and 3,83 for Student work sheets validatiy coefficient with valid category, practicality test from teacher’s activity analysis scored 89,74% for the first meeting and 94,87% for the second meeting with good category, and efectiveness test from students activity analysis, Learning Result Test and students’ questionnaire analysis with effective result. Result of this mathematics learning media development showed that discovery learning mathematics learning media by paying attention to cognitive load fulfilled validity, praticality, efectiveness so that it can be used well for learning. Abstract

Abstract. Critical Thinking Skills is very important for us because critical thinking skills can be used to solve problems and as a judgement in right decision making. One of the methods used to equip students with critical thinking skills is using Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model in mathematics class. This research is a qualitative descriptive research aimed to describe the critical thinking skills of students in X-Class using CPS model in solving quadratic equations problems and the provision of scaffolding. The subject of this research is students of SMK N 2 Jember grade 10 (X-Class). The method of data collecting used in this research is critical thinking skills test and interview. Analysis of students critical thinking skills test is based on critical thinking skills indicat by Facione determined by the researcher. The results of this research showed that sudents critical thinking skills in X-TPM Class at SMK Negeri 2 Jember generally can be grouped into 3 categories are high, average, and low critical thinking skills. Students with high critical thinking skills satisfy all of crtitical thinking skills indicarors. Students with average critical thinking skills can only satisfy interpretation and analysis indicators. But less capable in evaluation and inference indicators. Whereas, the students with low critical thinking skills are less capable in interpreting the problem and they can't satisfy analysis, evaluation, and inference indicators. Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to descripbe about autistic students’ thinking process in solving contextual problem standards based on Suryabrata teory’. The data by giving test contextual mathematic problem which integers operations subject. Problem given to autistic students of class VIII SMPLB TPA Jember, amounting to four students. Problem given first validated by 2 doses of mathematics education and 1 math teacher SMPLB TPA Jember. . Data analysis can be observed from students’ work sheet. Student’s answers analyzed according to the components of Suryabrata Teory’. Suryabrata teory’ consists of three components which are (1) forming understanding; (2) forming opinion; (3) drawing conclusion. The results of this study is, autistic students tend to meet the second component of the theory Suryabrata. This is directly proportional to the theory that autistic students have exceptional ideas in solving a problem. Autistic students have difficulty in fulfilling the first and third components of the Suryabrata theory. Abstract

Abstract. Mathematical reasoning ability is the ability to think through math problems logically in order to get a conclusion or a solution. Mathematical communication ability is the ability to present mathematical ideas through notations, symbols, or images. This research aimed to describe student’s mathematical reasoning and communication ability in solving math problems. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative research with 9 students of class VII-A SMPN 2 Jember as the subjects who have categorized according to the strudent’s ability of mathematics (high, moderate, and low). Methods of data collection in this research are test method and interviews method. Based on the results of the mathematical reasoning and communication ability’s test reinforced by interviews, the ability of student’s mathematical reasoning and communication to solve math problems are varied. For the mathematical reasoning ability, from 3 students that have a high mathematical ability, 2 strudents have a very good mathematical reasoning ability and 1 student has an enough mathematical reasoning ability. From 3 students that have a moderate mathematical ability, 2 strudents have a good mathematical reasoning ability and 1 student has an enough mathematical reasoning ability. From 3 students that have a low mathematical ability, 3 students have less mathematical reasoning ability. For the mathematical communication ability, from 3 students that have a high mathematical ability, 2 strudents have a very good mathematical communication ability and 1 student has an enough mathematical communication ability. From 3 students that have a moderate mathematical ability, 1 strudents has a very good mathematical communication ability and 2 student have a good mathematical communication ability. From 3 students that have a low mathematical ability, 1 student has an enough mathematical communication ability and 2 students have less mathematical communication ability. It can be concluded that the higher the student’s mathematical ability, the higher the student’s reasoning and communication ability in solving math problem. Abstract

Abstract. This study describes the of critical thinking in solving mathematical problems basen on multiple intelegences. The instruments used are talent tests, math problem test, and interviews. Research subjects are many six students that is of two students with linguistic intelligence from class VIII F, two students with logical mathematical intelligence from class VIII F, and two students with spatial visual intelligence from class VIII A. Based on the results of analysis and discussion can be concluded that students with linguistic and logical mathematical intelligence meets all critical thinking indicators such as focus, reason, inference, situation, clarifity, and overview. Students with spatial visual intelligence meets critical thinking indicators such as focus, reason, inference, situation, clarifity. Students with spatial visual intelligence does not meet the overview criteria. Keywords: Critical thinking, multiple intelligence, math problems, talent test.

Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to describe development process of 4C’s indicators that in accordance the curriculum of 2013 in mathematics subject of first semester XII grade of Senior High School/MA. According to P21 4C’s abilites are critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.Mathematics subjects of first semester XII grade of Senior High School/MA which consist of 3 subjects namely plane geometry, three dimensional objects geometry, ang mathematical statistics. This research based on modified plomp model. This research only uses four phases namely inital investigation phase, designing phase, realisation/construction phase, and test, evaluation, and revision phase. Validity test was conducted by 5 validators which consists of 2 mathematics education lecturer and 3 mathematics teacher.
