Abstract

The using of social media for marketing in products and services industry is currently trending, both in small and big enterprises. Zanana and Oifyoo are among the SMEs that already used Instagram to market their products. The purpose of this research is to find the effectiveness of using social media (Instagram) as online marketing on Zanana and Oifyoo. Zanana has a specified marketing team to manage their Instagram account> Meanwhile, Oifyoo's Instagram account is managed by the owner directly. The analysis of Instagram using effectiveness is much needed for increasing marketing, sales, or branding purposes. This research is done with a few steps including data reduction, data serving, conclusion, and verification. There are two data used in this research, primary and secondary data. The primary data is accumulated using in-depth interviews and the secondary data is retrieved on both SMEs Instagram accounts. This research used media and network analyses to analyze the data. The research shows that Zanana is more excelled at the effectiveness of using Instagram in both media and network analyses than Oifyoo. Keywords: effectiveness, Instagram, media analysis, network analysis

Abstract

The focus of this research is to analyze the production process queuing system at one of the stages of production of swiftlet nest in analytical and simulation. The purpose of this research is to obtain the model and characteristics of the queue system at the Finishing-2. The analysis uses data on the rate of arrival and the rate of service based on real observation and determines the probability distribution of data between arrival time and service time using the Easyfit 3.0 program, to get the model of the queuing system is obtained. After the model obtained, analytic and simulation analysis is carried out using the Queuing System Simulation (QSS) module in the WINQSB software. The results of the queuing system characteristics in the analytical and simulation have a significant difference, because the distribution of time between arrivals and service times used in analytical calculations is G (general), while the simulation uses a distribution that refers to a particular type of distribution according to the results of the Easyfit program. Simulation is carried out with the FIFO and SIRO queue disciplines. The simulation results show that 91% of the characteristics of the queue system in the two queue disciplines do not have a significant difference. Moreover, it has also been done a comparison between the characteristics of the queuing system in two different work areas namely Room A and Room B&C, based on the simulation results, the results show 58% of the characteristics of the queuing system have a significant difference, this is due to differences in service time between the two work areas. Thus the purpose of this research has been achieved which is obtained by the queue model (G/G/c):(FIFO/∞/∞), and also obtained system performance improvements, in the form of waiting time in the queue where the waiting time in Room B&C is smaller than Room A. Keywords: Queuing, Arrival, Service, Production, Simulation.

Abstract

Technological sophistication has become the necessity of human life, because it can facilitate the survival of human life. One of the technological sophistication that is needed by humans is the mobile phone. Mobile communication devices require electrical power sourced from the battery, when it runs out of power [1]requires a power source to restore power. Portable charger products [2]is one of the products that are always in need of mobile phone users. In this study, portable charger products have the advantage that can charge electric power just by moving it without using the electricity that comes from PLN. The purpose of this study is to determine the characteristics of portable charger products and designing products in accordance with the voice of customers obtained. In the first stage, the preparation and distribution of questionnaires to obtain voice of customer, create a technical response, create a house of quality, which then design the manufacture of portable charger products in accordance with customer wishes. Based on the research, the result of design of portable charger product with the length of 15 cm, width 8cm, thickness 3 cm and has the adhesive as long as 25 cm. Keywords: technology, phone, portable, charger, function

Abstract

PT Mulcindo is a manufacturing and service industry company works in the production of processed iron. This company produces corrugated steel sheet, iron canal, ceiling hanging guard rail, and partition frame.  However, the demand for this company was fluctuating.  Due to this fluctuation, PT Mulcindo Steel Industry has some problems such as product shortages or on the other hand product overload (over stock). This company is trying to find better production activities planning to fulfill market demand by using the right production planning. The results of the aggregate planning method in planning hollow production with a size of 15 mm x 35 mm x 0.30 mm in PT Mulcindo Steel Industry using the heuristic method, labor control with total aggregate planning costs of Rp. 674,937,732.2 / year, controlling sub-contracts with total aggregate planning costs of Rp. 822.136,585,3 / year, mix with overtime with total aggregate planning costs of Rp. 208,791,410.5 / year, Use of spreadsheets using regular production with trial and error techniques with total aggregate planning costs of Rp. 408,543,000 / year, the aggregate planning method in production planning obtained the minimum cost of Rp. 208,791,410.5 / year that is by using the heuristic method with mixed method completion techniques with over time. Keywords : Forecasting, Time Series, Aggregate Planning.

Abstract

Integration in supply chain is an important factor to consider. Good integration between entity in supply chain can give some advantages from minimize cost to competitiveness between supply chain.  Company X is manufacturer of herbs medicine which has single distributor to sell the product. Currently, manufacturer and distributor have their inventory control policies and there is no coordination among echelon. It causes the difference number of production lot from manufacturer and the number of order from distributor, consequently total inventory cost become expensive.This research will propose Joint Economic Lot Size (JELS) method that can integrate these two echelons and will give the minimum total inventory cost. The proposed JELS method is integration between Cardenas-Barron model about EPQ backorder and Ben-Daya and Hariga model about integration model between single supplier and single consumer. Calculation process begin with forecasting demand, calculation of actual inventory control at echelon manufacturer and distributor, and calculation of proposed method. The result of calculation process show that total actual inventory cost is 5.500.371,476 IDR/month and the proposed method give 4.604.766,665 IDR/month. The proposed method can give saving about 895.604,811 IDR/month or 16,28%.                      Key words: cost, integration, JELS, inventory

Abstract

This study is to give an alternative of an optimum inventory model for chicken egg livestock industry. The characteristic of the egg livestock industry is very unique; since the chicken breeding performance varies. In a particular span of time, the industry might have ameliorating and deteriorating characteristics. Some farmers nourish several generations at the same time. This study generates a mathematical model to optimize the length time between purchases of a chicken generation to get optimum cost by considering demand seasonality. This study is also generating the algorithm to find the optimum solution in a simple way. Future potential researches are also stated.Keywords: Optimization, inventory, egg, chicken, ameliorating

Abstract

Large-scale logistics companies deliver products using sea transportation effectively. Company X as one of the pioneer port containers service still has limitations both from minimal stacking capacity and limited equipment, 1 HMC unit and 1 unit reach adapter. The number of containers increases from 2014-2017, but the availability of tools and facilities that needed continue to cause overcapacity problem. This paper aims to determine the yard occupancy ratio (YOR), berth occupancy ratio (BOR) and utility equipment that are in accordance with the standards to prevent overcapacity at port X until 2020. This study uses extend simulation method to make improvements and analysis of conditions that running, the results of the study are recommendations for the addition of 2 units of transport and the addition of reach units of 2 units. For the YOR value, additional capacity from 2,046 TEUs was made to 3,800 TEUs so that the initial maximum YOR was 139.8% to 75.3%, while BOR still in maximum BOR capacity which is 24.0%.Keywords: Container, Discrete Event Simulation, ExtendSim, Port
