Abstract

Abstract: The objective of the current study is to identify teachers’ strategies in questioning  in the learning of Indonesian in elementary schools. This is a qualitative study utilizing a case study design.The research data are collected from teachers and elementary school students of grade IV using field notes on teachers’ strategies in questioning, which were then transcribed. The researcher acted as the key instrument for data collection in this study. The results reveal that teachers have a varied strategies of questioning. On the category of frequency of occurence, teachers tend to employ ‘what’ as a questioning strategy. Teachers’ strategies in questioning also have a variety of functions among others to ask for information, to explain, to emphasize, to beg, to command and to express themselves. The teachers utilized strategies in questioning and responding to the students based on the principles of good questioning and responding to the students.

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this qualitative research is to investigate the improvement of quality of childrens’morality at Komplek Hankam Cimanggis Depok in family education. The results revealed that the quality of morality is family education which is accepted since childhood. Quality of morality knowledge must be introduced first to children in the family. As such, the family role is very important in giving quality of morality to children. The quality of morality includes these like good behaviors, mutual honor, mutual respect, honesty, generosity and considerateness.

Abstract

Abstract: One of the orientations in career Counseling and Guidance in Elementary School/Islamic Elementary School is helping the students attain certain attitude consciousness in making a choice and face any demand possibilities to choose between career and study. If the students make the wrong decision in choosing their career, they will come up ultimately with unwanted effects on their whole live satisfaction. Therefore, the right decision to choose between study or career becomes an important matter to the life of students as a human. Due to the importance of study/career problems in human being, making right decisions needs to be well-prepared since the children is at the elementary school in order to help them plan their future by giving them an ongoing education program and guidance. Nowadays, a counselor has no structural position in elementary school/Islamic elementary schools. Therefore, the position elementary school teachers’ is very important to play their role and carried the responsibilities to understanding the students and help students’ development task optimum.

Abstract

Abstract: The research aims at investigating a concept mapping test in science learning and elementary school students’ cognitive styles. A sample of 124 elementary school students in Metro Lampung was drawn randomly. The study revealed that the students’ learning outcomes treated with the concepts of mapping essay test are higher than those treated with the multiple choice test; the learning outcomes of the convergent students’ cognitive style are higher than those of the divergent students’ cognitive  style; there is an interaction effect between the formative assessments and the cognitive style toward the students’ learning outcomes; the learning outcomes of the convergent students’ cognitive style treated with the concepts mapping essay test are higher than those treated with the multiple choice; and the learning outcomes of the divergent students’cognitive style treated with the concepts mapping essay test are lower than those treated with the multiple choice test.

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research is to describe metacognition of physical education, sport and health teacher of primary schools. The research is qualitative research utilizing interview and documentation as the data collection techniques. The research revealed three main findings, namely teacher’s metacognition in use when preparing, implementing, and evaluation of instruction, which have variation respectively into efforts to effectiveness, efficiency, and appeal instruction.

Abstract

Abstract: The present study aims at evaluating the relationship between flexibility and power and long jump performance. The present study is a descriptive survey. A sample of 40 male elementary school students of Sekolah Dasar Negeri 03 Pagi Pondok Bambu, Jakarta Timur was drawn using a random sampling technique. The study revealed that flexibility accounted for 8,82%, power 35,7%.The present study concluded that there is a positive relationship between flexibility and power and the students’ long jump performance. The greater flexibility is and the greater power is, the farther the jump will be.

Abstract

Abstract: Since 1994 curriculum launched until now, the assessment of Indonesian teaching result should be directed to assess the student’s ability to use Indonesian communicatively in real situation, not their theoretic knowledge. But, in fact, there are still many teachers assess Indonesian teaching result from their student’s theoretic knowledge aspect, not the student’s ability to use Indonesian communicatively in real situation. It could happen because of the teacher’s understanding about the using of communicative approach in Indonesian teaching is not completely right. This article will explain the assessment of Indonesian teaching result based on communicative approach in elementary school consist of the assessment philosophy, techniques and procedures, also rubric and example test items that constructed based on communicative approach.

Abstract

Abstract: National Competence-Based Curriculum and School Level Curriculum require that changes in the achievement of required basic competencies, the model of learning activities, and evaluation of learning patterns take place. This change is perceived differently by many teachers because of various reasons. This Classroom Action Research aims at developing students’ comprehensive abilities in accordance with the competencies required by optimizing the active, creative, effective and joyful learning model. This research was conducted in two cycles. The result shows that the implementation of the social studies by optimalizing the active, creative, effective and joyful learning model promotes both teachers’ and students’ level of enthusiasm, and students can develop their comprehensive abilities (cognitive, affective, and psychomotoric).

Abstract: Learning media plays an important role to assist early learners in learning Indonesian The current study aims at developing media for learning vocabulary to improve early learners’ competence in learning Indonesian. An R@D design was employed for the purpose. It is expected that the media as the product of this study can be of use by teachers in early learner education institutions.

Abstract

Abstract: The implementation of the standard of passing grades has so far been still ineffective in preparing the next generation who is qualified scientifically and religiously as has been outlined in the objective of the national education. As a result, some factors especially which have social, economic, cultural, knowledge, and political implementations need to be reformed and reoriented so that there are stronger relations between education and social values in real life contexts.
