The Deletion of Syntactic Function in Sentence Written By Students of Class III, IV, V, And VI Elementary School Sumadi Sumadi; Novi Eka Susilowati; Suparno Suparno

This study aims to describe the deletion of syntactic function in sentences written by students of class III, IV, V, and VI elementary schools. This research data in the form of sentences in class III, IV, V, and VI elementary students. The data were collected from data sources in the form of essays from a number of third-grade students, IV, V, and VI elementary school target of this study. The results showed three things. First, there are sentences found in all classes, namely (1) the constituent sentence essentially present with the basic sentence patterns (a) S-P, (b) S-P-O, (c) S-P-Pel, and (d) S-P-Ket; and (2) a sentence whose constituents are essentially not present with a sentence type whose S constituent is not present. Second, there are sentences found in certain classes, ie (1) sentences whose constituent P is absent only found in class V, and (2) sentences whose S and P constituents are absent are found only in class IV, V, and VI. Thirdly, even though the sentence that his S-constituent is not present is found in all classes, the sentence pattern in each level is different.

Fokus penelitian ini ialah karakteristik teks deskripsi dilihat dari struktur isi dan ciri kebahasaan karya siswa kelas VII SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan racangan penelitian kualitatif dan merupakan penelitian analisis teks. Hasil penelitian ini ada dua, yaitu (1) struktur isi berupa identifikasi, deskripsi bagian, simpulan, tatanan unsur teks deskripsi lengkap, serta tatanan unsur tidak lengkap, dan (2) ciri kebahasaan berupa kata kerja aksi, kata sifat untuk mendeskripsikan objek, kata benda terkait objek yang dideskripsikan, kata-kata yang dapat memancing kesan serta citra indrawi dan suasana batiniah pembaca, sinonim, kata khusus, kalimat rincian, dan kalimat rincian untuk mengongkretkan.

The students’ writing competence in State Senior High School Pagak I in composing poetry is still low as they have problems to brainstorm ideas and use poetic devices . Therefore, this classroom action research was proposed to develop students’ writing competence in composing poetry through the use of Ekonek strategy (exploration, construction, elaboration, and confirmation) on (1) idea extraction, (2) idea arrangement, and (3) imagery development, diction, theme and meaning, figure of speech, rhyme and rhythm, and typography. The subjects of this research are 20 students consisting of 3 boys and 17 girls. The result of this research shows an increase in students’ competence indicated by their gain 25,88 from the average of the first poetry test 56,14 becomes 82,02 in the last test. The development of this result has impacted on the increase of the students’ quantity who can reach the minimum completeness criteria (KKM), which is about10,53% in pre-cycle becomes 89,47 in post-cycle

Teachers have very strategic role in abolishing corruption, collusion and nepotism in Indonesia which has been a level of apprehensive. It can be done because through education, teachers can internalize the values of anti corruption, collusion and nepotism to the next generation of the nation naturally, programming and systematically. This research aims to reveal the teachers’ vision and perceptiontoward the program of integrating anti corruption, collusion and nepotism material in the teaching-learning process of Indonesian language. The result of this research can be used as a starting point in integrating the material of anti corruption, collusion and nepotism in Indonesian teaching-learning process.

This study aims at describing the appropriate and correct use of prepositions in elementary school students’ composition. The design of this study is qualitative research combined with formal approaches for students in grade 3, 4, 5 and 6. The results of the study indicate that (1) there is a preposition used in all grades; (2) there are some prepositions used in certain grade; (3) some preposition functions are found in all grades; and (4) some preposition functions are found in certain grades.

The purpose of this study was to describe the process of transformation and complexity of embedded sentences. This type of research is a one-site case study. The data source of this study was the verbal text of the students' utterances. The data, in the form of accepted sentences, were analyzed by using the interactive model of Milles & Huberman. The results shows that the transformation process in junior high school students’ embedded sentences of spoken Bahasa Indonesia were included the use of TTF, TTKLesap, TTNom, TTGanKlit, TSA, TSPelFN, and TSPelFVrules. The complexity of students’ sentence is shown by the use of the seven rules of transformation in a sentence. This finding shows that the eighth grade students have syntactic competence in the transformation of embedded sentences.

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Skema Program Kemitraan Masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan sumber dana Non APBN Universitas Negeri Malang Tahun 2022. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini berjudul “Labelisasi Dan Digitalisasi Sobat UMKM Kediri sebagai Media Promosi dan Upaya Meningkatkan Penjualan Produk UMKM Di Kota Kediri”. Kegiatan ini dilakukan oleh Tim Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat yang beranggotakan para dosen dan mahasiswa Fakultas Sastra Universitas Negeri Malang. Kegiatan ini juga melibatkan mitra, yaitu Sobat UMKM Kediri. Pada pelaksanaanya, kegiatan ini juga melibatkan UMKM-UMKM di Kota Kediri. Tim pengabdian melakukan pendataan dan pendokumentasian UMKM-UMKM di Kota Kediri. Selain itu, tim pengabdian juga membuatkan label produk untuk UMKM-UMKM di Kota Kediri. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah membantu promosi dan meningkatkan penjualan produk UMKM-UMKM di Kota Kediri.

Kesalahan Sintaksis pada Teks Tanggapan Kelas IX B SMPN 12 Malang Ersita Noor Mahliga; Sumadi; Novi Eka Susilowati

Abstract: This research aims to describe the syntactic errors in the response text of class IX B SMPN 12 Malang. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model with three sub activities, namely (1) data reduction, (2) data presentation, and (3) conclusion drawing. The results of the data analysis on the syntactic errors found in the response text of class IX B SMPN 12 Malang took the form of (1) errors at the phrasal level and (2) sentences. Errors at the phrasal level include (1) incorrect use of prepositions, (2) excessive use of elements, (3) inappropriate use of elements, (4) improper wording, and (5) double pluralization. Syntactic errors at the sentence level include (1) ambiguous sentences, (2) illogical sentences, (3) inappropriate use of conjunctions, (4) excessive use of conjunctions, (5) omission of conjunctions, (6) zero-subject sentences, (7) unpredicated sentences, (8) use of prepositions in transitive verbs, (9) use of unnecessary interrogative words, and (10) incomplete sentences. Keywords: language errors, syntax errors, response text Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kesalahan sintaksis dalam teks tanggapan kelas IX B SMPN 12 Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman dengan tiga alur kegiatan, yaitu (1) reduksi data, (2) penyajian data, dan (3) penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian kesalahan sintaksis pada teks tanggapan kelas IX B SMPN 12 Malang meliputi (1) kesalahan pada tataran frasa, dan (2) kalimat. Kesalahan pada tataran frasa meliputi (1) kesalahan penggunaan preposisi, (2) penggunaan unsur yang berlebihan, (3) penggunaan unsur yang tidak tepat, (4) susunan kata yang tidak tepat, dan (5) penjamakan ganda. Kesalahan sintaksis pada tataran kalimat meliputi (1) kalimat rancu, (2) kalimat tidak logis, (3) penggunaan konjungsi yang tidak tepat, (4) penggunaan konjungsi yang berlebihan, (5) penghilangan konjungsi, (6) kalimat tidak bersubjek, (7) kalimat tidak berpredikat, (8) penggunaan preposisi pada verba transitif, (9) penggunaan kata tanya tidak perlu, dan (10) kalimat tidak lengkap. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh metode CIRC terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman dan menulis teks cerita pendek kelas VIII MTsN Trate 1. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan rancangan (quasi experimental) dengan desain pre-test dan post-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh penggunaan metode CIRC terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman meliputi indikator kemampuan mengidentifikasi literal, mereorganisasi, menginferensial, mengevaluasi, dan mengapresiasi. Serta terdapat pengaruh pada penggunaan metode CIRC terhadap kemampuan menulis teks cerita pendek meliputi indikator menulis ide cerita teks cerita pendek dan menulis struktur cerita pendek.

This study aims to describe the phenomenon of transitivity in Facebook statuses from a functional systemic linguistic perspective by Halliday. The research is of document study nature with a Functional Systemic Linguistics approach. Data was obtained through observation techniques, documentation techniques, and referential matching techniques derived from secondary data, namely Facebook statuses. The findings of this research indicate that clauses whose occurrences dominate over other clauses, such as material processes dominating over verbal, mental, behavioural, and relational processes. Furthermore, clauses that consistently appear in text production processes, such as phenomena, which have dominant occurrences compared to actors, goals, sensers, attributes, and scopes. Additionally, circumstances that dominate over other circumstances in the text include cause, which tends to dominate over matter, role, location, extent, and manner. The implications of this study impact the readers' understanding of the transitivity phenomenon in social media and enrich the literature for the development of discourse courses, critical discourse studies, and linguistics in general. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan fenomena ketransitifan dalam status Facebook: perspektif linguistik fungsional sistemik Halliday. Jenis penelitian studi dokumen dengan pendekatan Linguistik Fungsional Sistemik. Data diperoleh melalui teknik observasi, teknik dokumentasi, dan teknik padan referensial yang bersumber dari data sekunder yaitu status Facebook. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa klausa yang kemunculannya mendominasi klausa lain seperti proses material yang mendominasi proses verbal, proses mental, proses perilaku, dan proses relasional. Klausa selanjutnya yang selalu muncul dalam proses pemroduksian teks seperti phenomenon yang kemunculannya dominan dibandingkan dengan actor, goal, senser, attribute, dan scope. Kemudian, sirkumtans yang mendominasi sirkumtans lain dalam teks, yaitu cause yang cenderung mendominasi matter, role, location, extent, dan manner. Implikasi penelitian ini berdampak kepada pemahaman pembaca terhadap fenomena ketransitifan dalam media sosial serta memperkaya literatur untuk pengembangan mata kuliah wacana, studi wacana kritis, dan linguistik secara umum.
