Abstract

The problem in this study is the low science process skills (KPS) and scientific attitudes of students in learning science. This is caused by the lack of use of learning models and media that encourage scientific activity and optimal involvement of students. The main objective of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of the discovery learning model assisted by e-worksheets in improving students' science process skills and scientific attitudes. This study used a quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The subjects in this study were 48 seventh grade students who were involved as test subjects. The data collection method used a 10-item multiple choice test to measure KPS and an observation sheet to assess scientific attitudes. The instrument has been tested for validity and reliability using the help of the Quest program. The data were analyzed quantitatively with Wilcoxon Test to test the difference before and after treatment and N-Gain test to determine the ability improvement. The results showed that there was a significant increase in science process skills and scientific attitudes after learning with the discovery learning model assisted by e-worksheets. Thus, it can be concluded that this learning model is effective in building scientific thinking skills and fostering students' scientific attitudes. The implication of this research shows the importance of using discovery-oriented learning models and interactive media in science learning to support the formation of the Pancasila learner profile.

Abstract

Violence committed by seniors against juniors occurs when students are doing activities in the educational environment. The concept of a humanistic education curriculum through a parenting pattern based on the development of soft skills and character in vocational higher education needs to be planned so that acts of violence in vocational higher education. This study aims to analyze the planning of a humanistic curriculum through a parenting pattern based on the development of soft skills and character in the vocational higher education environment of the Ministry of Transportation. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The research procedure involves collecting data through document studies, including journals, scientific articles, and official government documents related to the research topic. The subject of the study is a policy document related to the soft skills development curriculum in the vocational higher education of the Ministry of Transportation. Data analysis was carried out descriptively. The findings show that the formation of soft skills that must be carried out by caregivers to students/cadets consists of two activities, namely embedded and stand-alone methods. Embedded activities are carried out according to the student's daily activities. At the same time, the stand-alone method is carried out through certain activities aimed at inspiring or instilling soft skills. Therefore, curriculum planning by adding humanistic and character-based learning activities must be carried out in an integrated, structured, planned, hierarchical manner with the proper methods.

Abstract

The low chemical literacy ability of students is the main problem in chemistry learning today. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the guided inquiry learning model with the socio-scientific issues (SSI) approach in improving students' chemical literacy skills. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a pretest-posttest control group design to measure the effectiveness of the learning model on salt hydrolysis materials. The research sample was selected using random sampling, with a total of 70 students in grade XI MIPA in one of the high schools. Data collection techniques are carried out through pretest and posttest tests to measure students' chemical literacy skills. Data analysis includes normality tests, homogeneity, and hypothesis tests using parametric statistics. The results of the study show that context-based learning with a guided inquiry model and the SSI approach is effective in improving students' chemical literacy skills. This was shown by a significant improvement in the chemical literacy ability profile in the experimental class compared to the control class, which used a scientific approach. Overall, the percentage of students' chemical literacy abilities increased, with most students being in the good and excellent categories in each topic tested. In addition, students who received learning interventions with SSI-based guided inquiry showed improved higher-order thinking skills and greater awareness of environmental issues. This study has implications that the use of the SSI approach in the guided inquiry model can be an effective alternative learning strategy to improve students' chemical literacy and build their concern for the environment.
