Abstract

Early children need language to express their ideas. Thus, they will need to master expressive language skills. This research aims to find out the effectiveness of the symbolic modeling learning model assisted by using a doll toward the early children’s expressive language skills. This is experimental research with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population of the research consisted of 30 children aged 5-6 years old in PGRI Sarimulyo and PGRI Sarimulyo 02 preschools. The data were taken by purposive sampling on 30 children aged 5-6 years old. The data collection technique was observation sheets of expressive language skills with a 1-4 liker scale. Wilcoxon test and the Mann Whitney test were applied to test the hypothesis. The result show that the symbolic modeling method assisted by a doll is effective for the students learning outcomes after being intervened. It proves that the symbolic modeling method assisted by a doll is effective to improve the expressive language skills of early childhood children at PGRI Sarimulyo Kindergarten

Abstract

Jemparingan is a traditional Mataram style archery sport activity typical Yogyakarta Palace. This study intends to analyze the implementation of Jemparingan sport and its benefits in early childhood. The place of the research is Pembina Wates State Kindergarten, Kulon Progo Regency, Yogyakarta. The method of this research is a qualitative case study approach. The subjects are children in grades A and B. Data collection techniques are observation, interview, and documentation. For data analysis was used Miles and Huberman theory, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of this study were the Jemparingan game as a play and learning activity in Pembina Wates State Kindergarten, which effectively trained children's focus, fine motor skills; train focus of the eye; increase concentration; confident; and build the character of the child in the kindergarten from an early age. The conclusion of this research is Jemparingan sport can be a fun game, effectively increasing child’s skill, and introducing Yogyakarta's local culture to children from an early age.

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah untuk memberikan pemahaman bagi orang tua siswa dalam pendampingan belajar anak masa pandemi Covid19 sebagai upaya penguatan pendidikan karakter dalam keluarga melalui keteladanan, pembiasaan, nasehat, semangat dan motivasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian masayarakat adalah memberikan penyuluhan secara tatap muka dengan protokol kesehatan yang ketat melalui ceramah, tanya jawab, diskusi, dan tugas, dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Tarub Kabupaten Tegal. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian adalah orang tua siswa mendapatkan pembelajaran dan pemahaman tentang pendampingan belajar anak masa pandemi Covid19 melalui teori dan praktik (bermain peran) berupa contoh-contoh kegiatan yang dapat memperkuat pendidikan karakter di dalam keluarga.

Abstract

The growth and development of early childhood should be stimulated by strengthening the religious character value and the language skill; therefore, children have noble behavior. This research aimed to develop the religious behavior attitude and the language skill of early childhood. The research object was hand-puppet-assisted media to strengthen the religious character value and the language skill. The population in this research were 30 children aged 5-6 years of the group B at TK ABA 04 Penaruban of the experiment class, and 30 children of the group B at TK ABA 03 Bumiayu of the control class. The data collection techniques used observation sheets, interviews, and documentation. The analysis used was the t-test using SPSS for windows version 16.00. The data analysis used the hand-puppet-assisted storytelling method. The hypothesis test results showed that the average pretest value of the experiment class was 18.21, and the average posttest was 21.00, so that it increased by 2.79. It was also found that the tcount> ttable at a significant level of 5% (15.649 > 2.037) and with a p-value of < 0.05, which means that it can be concluded that there was a significant increase in the score of student learning outcomes of the experiment group. Thus, it can be concluded that the strengthening of the religious character valueand the language skill of children aged 5-6 years at TK ABA 04 Penaruban using the hand-puppet-assisted storytelling method was more effective than using conventional media.

Abstract

Penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan naturalistik studi kasus ini bertujuan menganalisis bentuk, perbedaan, dan ciri khas pendayagunaan modal sosial dalam pendidikan karakter di  SD Sapen dan SD Budi Mulia Yogyakarta. Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan data dilakukan dengan konfirmasi hasil observasi, wawancara, dokumen wawancara. Uji kredibilitas data dilakukan dengan memperpanjang pengamatan, meningkatkan ketekunan, triangulasi data, analisis kasus negatif, member check, dan referensi. Analisis data menggunakan model interaktif Miles Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pendayagunaan modal sosial dalam pendidikan karakter yang dilaksanakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, budaya sekolah, dan program karakter melalui inkulkasi nilai karakter dan keteladanan secara integral memperkuat karakter. Pendayagunaan modal sosial pada kegiatan ekstrakurikuler berpengaruh sangat kuat terhadap pembentukan karakter dibandingkan kegiatan intrakurikuler.Kata kunci: pendidikan karakter, modal sosial, program afektif, kedisiplinan, penugasan, living value, happy learning EMPOWERING THE SOCIAL CAPITAL IN THE CHARACTER EDUCATIONAbstractThe qualitative study by means of naturalistic case study approach was to analyze the form, the difference and the peculiarity of empowering the social capital in the character education conducted in the Muhammadiyah Sapen Elementary School and the Budi Mulia Dua Elementary School Yogyakarta. The data gathering was conducted by implementing observation, interview and documentation. The data validity was measured by confirming the results of observation, interview and interview document. The data credibility test was conducted by lengthening the observation, increasing the persistence, triangulating the data, analyzing the negative case, performing member checking and finding references. For the data analysis, the researcher made use of Miles Huberman interactive model. The results of the study showed that empowering the social capital in the character education that had been implemented in the form of learning activities, school culture and character programs by means of inculcation toward the character values and the role modelling integrally strengthened the students’ characters. Empowering the social capital in the extracurricular activities influenced heavily the character formation than in the intracurricular activities.Keywords: character education, social capital, affectiv programs, discipline, assignment, living value, happy learning

Abstract

Penelitdan ini bertujuan memperoleh gambaran yang objektif dan komprehensif tentang proses pendidikan budi pekerti di Taman Muda Ibu Pawiyatan Tamansiswa Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif naturalistik. Subjek penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah, guru/pamong, dan siswa kelas VA, yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik pengamatan partisipasi, wawancara mendalam, dan analisis dokumen. Pencapaian keabsahan data dilakukan dengan melakukan pengamatan secara terus-menerus dalam waktu yang relatif lama, triangulasi dengan teknik pengumpulan data ganda dan sumber data ganda, dan member check. Analisis data dilakukan sejak pengumpulan data, dengan menggunakan model interakuf yang terdiri dari 3 tahapan, yaitu: (1) reduksi data, (2) display data, dan (3) penarikan simpulan atau verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di Taman Muda substansi pendidikan budi pekerti dipadukan/diintegrasikan dalam pembelajaran, baik di dalam kelas maupun di luar kelas pada semua inata pelajaran, namun belum terprogram. Proses pendidikan budi pekerti di Taman Muda lebih menekankan nilai-nilai kekeluargaan dan nilai kedisiplinan, metode ceramah dan tanya jawab masih digunakan secara dominan. Kata kunci: pendidikan budi pekerti, taman muda tamansiswa.

Abstract

Aliran Progressivisme mengakui dan berusaha mengembangakan asasProgressivisme dalam semua realitas, terutama dalam kehidupan untuktetap survive terhadap semua tantangan hidup manusia, harus praktis dalammelihat segala sesuatu dari segi keagungannya. Progressivisme kurangmenyetujui adanya pendidikan yang bercorak otoriter, baik yang timbulpada zaman dahulu maupun pada zaman sekarang. Nilai-nilai yang dianutbersifat fleksibel terhadap perubahan, toleran dan terbuka sehinggamenuntut untuk selalu maju bertindak secara konstruktif, inovatif danreformatif, aktif serta dinamis. Jadi kemajuan atau progress menjadi intiperhatian progressivisme. Untuk mencapai perubahan tersebut manusiaharus memiliki pandangan hidup yang bertumpu pada sifat-sifat: fleksibel,curious (ingin mengetahui dan menyelidiki), toleran dan open minded.Komitmen terhadap nilai-nilai tradisional tidak bisa diabaikan, apalagiditolak. Pendidikan yang berlangsung baik di dalam keluarga, sekolah,maupun masyarakat hendaklah mampu menolak terbawanya peserta didikoleh arus globalisasi yang negatip. Pendidikan harus mampu menepispengaruh negatip era globalisasi, yakni dengan menyerap nilai-nilai positipdan menyingkirkan nilai-nilai negatip, serta tetap menggunakan dasar pijakpada nilai-nilai tradisional yang bersumber pada sosio kultural bangsa baikdalam skala mikro maupun makro.

Abstract

Pelaksanaan PPK (Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter) dalam pembelajaran daring pada masa pandemi Covid-19 tidak bisa diabaikan dalam dunia pendidikan, khususnya pendidikan dasar. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis pelaksanaan penguatan pendidikan karakter dalam masa pandemi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode naturalistik inquiry ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis pelaksanaan PPK dalam pembelajaran Daring pada masa pandemi Covid-19 di SD Ihsaniyah. Data bersumber dari observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan data dengan konfirmasi hasil observasi, wawancara, dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan PPK dalam pembelajaran Daring masa pandemi Covid-19 di SD Ihsaniyah dilaksanakan melalui: pembiasaan pagi dengan pelibatan semua sivitas akademika; pengintegrasian dalam kurikulum sesuai visi misi sekolah; tambahan pembelajaran secara home visit; peran orang tua dalam pendampingan belajar anak. Dengan demikian, keterlibatan, kerjasama, tanggung jawab dari tenaga kependidikan, keluarga, masyarakat, media sosial dalam menciptakan iklim kondusif seperti keteladanan, menunjang tercapainya penguatan pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran Daring.

Abstract

The research aims to describe and analyze the implementation of multicultural values in SD Global Inbyra School (GIS) and SD Pelita Harapan Bangsa (PHB).The research method used is the naturalistic inquiry case study approach. Retrieval of data using observations, interviews, and documentation. The validity of the data is done by confirming the results of observations, interviews, documentation. Data credibility testing is done by extending observations, increasing persistence, triangulation of data, member checks, and references. Data analysis uses the interactive model of Miles and Huberman.The results showed that the implementation of multicultural values in GIS and PHB as follows 1) was carried out in an integrated manner through intracuricular and extracurricular activities; 2) The role is very dominant shown by the principal, teachers, and students have the same understanding and positive influence in the development of multicultural values as an effort to build the character of students. The differences are (1) in SD GIS: (a) the application of English as the language of instruction makes students familiar with the term English in relation to the use of technology; confident in interacting with strangers / foreigners; (b) implementation of multicultural values through character building subjects; (c) the existence of a dual curriculum program, namely the integration and integration of national and international curricula (cambridge) that balances student potential, opportunities, ethnic background, religious beliefs and ideals to create individuals to socialize with different cultures.
