Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the response of the growth of the rice plant (Oryza sativa) local cultivars at different levels of soil moisture. This study uses a randomized complete block design consisting of (1) Cultivars Rice locally as the first factor consisting of (K1) = rice cultivars Ranta, (K2) = rice cultivars njengi and (K3) = rice cultivars Sampara, (2) the level of moisture soil as a second factor consisting of (T1) = The level of moisture the ground 100% (field capacity),              (T2) = level of moisture the soil 75%, (T3) = Level moisture soil 50% and (T4) = rate of moisture land 25% , The results showed that the cultivars njengi generating plant height and stem diameter is greater than the other cultivars. Ranta cultivars showed the number of leaves, number of tillers and leaf area were higher than the other cultivars. Soil moisture level of 100% (field capacity) also results in plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers, leaf greenness (chlorophyll) and a trunk diameter greater than with other soil moisture levels. Key Words : local cultivars, rice, soil moisture.

Abstract

This research aimed to identify factors influencing rubber production of people plantation in of Pontangoa village LemboRaya sub-districton North Morowali Regency. This research was carried out in November – December 2015. Respondents were determined using a Random Sampling Technique. The number of the respondents was 31 families selected from a population of 407 farmers. Data was analyzed using the Cobb-Douglas analysis. The results showed that all the variables are simultaneously highly significant affecting the production of the rubber, where F-counted is 545.377 > F-table (3.85) at α of 5%, thus H0 is rejected and H1is accepted.Such factors as land area, plant number, and labor have partially significant effect on the rubber production as shown by t-counted of land area (4.759) is >t-table (2.478), t-counted of plant number (6.236)>t-table (2.478), and t-counted of labor (-2.567)>t-table (2.478) suggesting that the H1 for these factors is accepted.  By contrast, fertilizer (SP36) and farmer experience have no significant effect as indicated by t-counted of the SP-36 (0.238)<t-table (2.499) and t-counted the farming experience (1.8538)<t-table (2.478) leading to that the H0 of these factors is accepted Key Words: People plantation and Production of rubber.

Abstract

Cocoa pod disease (BBK) caused by the fungus Phytophthora palmivora is one of the prime diseases that can affect cocoa production systems in the world . This disease can cause yield losses of up to 90% , especially in the rainy season and the dry season. Objective of the research is to determine the ability of inhibitory fungus A. niger in various carriesr and storage time against Phytophtora palmivora cause rotten disease of cocoa. Result of the research is to control the disease in cacao plants. This is an experimental research designed by using Random Complete Design with 2 factorials, carries and  storage period with 3 remedials, factor 1: (P0 = control), (P1 = white glutinous rice flour + cassava starch), (P2 = Cassava starch), (P3 = white glutinous rice flour + sweet corn flour), (P4 = white glutinous rice flour), (P5 = ripe coconut flour). Factor 2: (A1 = 1 week storage period), (A2 = 2 weeks storage period), (A3 = 3 weeks storage period), (A4 = 4 weeks storage period). Result of the research proved that the carrier of white glutinous rice flour + sweet corn flour (P3) and ripe coconut flour (P5) and in A3 storage period (week-3) is more effective to inhibiting P. palmivora growth, therefore can be used as a carrier to support A. niger fungus growth. Key Words : Aspergillus niger, cacao, carrier.
