Abstract

Demand for rice continues to increase, including demand for organic rice. Seeing the high level of demand for organic rice, the government responded by facilitating and supporting facilities and infrastructure in the production process of organic rice. Government response and support is realized by a group approach, so that farmers enjoy farming with good results. The number of farmer groups in Bandung regency until the year 2012 was 1782 group. But the reality, part of the results received are not enjoyed by members of the group. The purpose of this study was to determine: 1) The process of the growth of farmers' groups; 2) The role of the farmer group in development the market for organic rice. The study was conducted in Nurani Sejahtera farmers group ,Bandung regency. This research was a qualitative with case study technique. Informants in this study were the chairman and members of Nurani Sejahtera farmers groups, consumers of organic rice and Bandung District Agriculture Office. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that although the Nurani Sejahtera Farmers Group was formed at the instigation of the government, but the member aware of the importance of the group. Overall Nurani Sejahtera farmer groups already play a role in maintaining the quantity, the quality of grain (by strengthening the capacity of production), and the sustainability of products through maintaining harmony with the members and with the market. Clarification always done related to product information and market information, so that members feel satisfied and believe what is done by the group.

Abstract

The method used in this research is quantitative research besifat. The research is descriptive quantitative research. Kuantiitatif descriptive study is essentially a research method or approach a case study (case study). This study focuses intensively on the object that is the effect of the existence of PT. Ketapang Forest Industry tehadap Household Income in Rural Communities Kedondong. The purpose of this study was to (a). Knowing the influence of the existence of PT. Ketapang Forest Industry on Household Income Communities in the District Kendawangan Ketapang. (B). Knowing how much influence the presence of PT. Ketapang Forest Industry on Household Income Communities in the District Kendawangan Ketapang. RESULTS: (1) .Hutan Industrial Plant PT. Ketapang Forest Industries give effect to the increase in revenue. Average Household Income Communities bigger than the Rural Household Income Kendawangan Right. That is evidenced by the average income of the respondents in the two areas of research that Kedondong village and the village of Kanan Kendawangan include major revenue, and revenue side of the family.

Abstract

Reseach purposes to know problems in the development of competence extension agriculture and formulate the right strategy in development of competence in Singkawang. Methode samping used by non probably sampling with convience technic and using SWOT and AHP analisys.Result of SWOT analisys factor internal and external be faced agricultural extension formed strengh opportunity strategy analised to use AHP to determined prominent strategy.Keywords : competence extension, motivation extension, government policy, formal/nonformal education, means of support.

Abstract

Creative economy is expected to create a more sustainable economic growth compared with the industrial economy that is dependent on the resource. If the creative economy can be explored and developed based on local potentials in each region, rural development can be improved and can be a support for the people's lives, which ultimately can alleviate poverty. The research technique was conducted through descriptive survey approach, and the research place was chosen Sub-district Surian Sumedang Regency.Respondents were drawn randomly, 50 farmers. Secondary data is collected from: documents in related institutions and journals. The data and information obtained were analyzed descriptively and cross tabulation.The result of the research shows that the development of creative economy in Surian Sub-district of Sumedang Regency is faced with problems, namely: 1) the community has not been able to manage the resources possessed by the lack of knowledge and skills, 2) the lack of supporting infrastructure, and 3) the inconsistency of community development From the government, so the potential of existing resources has not been well managed. The development of creative economy based on local potential becomes very urgent to do. Development of creative economy can be done from the economic side, ie from upstream (cultivation of plants) to downstream (processing of agricultural products); Also from the cultural side (arts and ceremonies adat) and the potential of nature owned, can be used as a tourist attraction area. The local potential can be developed towards the tourism sector, by developing creative economy from upstream to downstream, cultural and nature owned, into several tour packages, such as: nature tourism, scientific tourism, cultural tourism, and culinary tourism.Keywords : creative economy,  local potential, resources, rural areas, value added

Abstract

This research aims to identify critical success factor of internal and external, to formulate strategies alternative and to determine priority of Durian Sanggaran marketing strategy in Matesih Sub-District Karanganyar District. Research’s basic method is analytical descriptive method. Determination of Matesih Sub-District as the location of the research decided by purposive (on purpose). The type of data used are the primary data and secondary data. Data analysis methods used (1) Competitive Profile Matrix (CPM) to identify critical success factors, (2) SWOT matrix to formulate an alternative marketing strategy Durian Sanggaran, and (3 ) QSPM to determine priorities Durian Sanggaran marketing strategy. The analysis showed that (1) The first ranking of local durian in Matesih Sub District based on the Competitive Profile Matrix analysis is Durian Sanggaran with a total score of 2.909 (2) The Alternative strategies can be applied in the marketing of Durian Sanggaran in Matesih Sub-District Karanganyar Regency are: modify the product, make improvements durian stall traders, and forge partnerships with governments and financial institutions. (3) Priority strategies that can be applied in the marketing of Durian Sanggaran in Matesih District Karanganyar Regency is improving the durian stall traders.

Abstract

The presence of vegetable farmers in peri-urban areas is essential for the supply of food to the urban population. However, they face intense competition from other non-agricultural activities. This research aims to explore the characteristics of vegetable farmers in Tangerang Regency as part of Jakarta Metropolitan Area, the motivation of respondents towards becoming vegetable farmers, and their strategy in adapting to massive urban development. We employed the qualitative approach by combining questionnaires, field observations, and interviews. We found the new entrant farmers that are in their productive ages and came with experience in the formal economy before starting farming. The motivation of respondents became vegetable farmers vary depend on their background and the land ownerships. Farmers in the study area are doing diversification by having off-farm activities and doing intensification by patterning crop to adapt rapid urbanization. To sustain the development of vegetable farming in peri-urban area, it will be crucial for government to create the new strategy of using vacant lands as farmlands to produce vegetables in order to combat food security issues, and also to assist farmers by upgrading their skill through various trainings.Keywords: Peri-urban, Strategy, Vegetable Farming.

Abstract

Vegetable Farmer Behavior Analysis in Purchasing insecticides (Case Study In Vegetable Farmers in Sungai Selamat Siantan Hilir District) The objectives of this study were: 1) determine the behavior of vegetable farmers in the purchase of insecticides based on product attributes in Sungai Selamat Siantan Hilir District and 2) identify the product attributes that taken into consideration in the purchase of insecticide. The research was conducted on vegetable farmers in the Sunagi Selamat Siantan hilir district North Pontianak within sampling by simple random sampling. Observed variables are variables which consists of consumer behavior and beliefs purchase evaluation based insecticide product attributes that include price, quality, volume and packaging manufacturer's instructions indicated on the package label. It also investigated behavior is also influenced by external factors which include variable normative beliefs and motivation variables. Analysis of research data using the model of Fishbein multiatribut. Fishbein multi-attribute analysis results indicate that the value of a vegetable farmer attitudes to insecticide products is good on all three insecticides used are derived from the manufacturer Syngenta, Dupont and DGW. Quality attributes against insect pests of the class to be a major consideration in the purchase of the three insecticides. Keywords: Consumer Behavior, Vegetable Farmers, Purchasing insecticides.

Abstract

The purpose of this researchwas to analyze the financial viability of milkfish-tiger shrimp polyculture in sylvofishery ponds in PemangkatSub District and non sylvofishery ponds in Jawai, and Jawai SelatanSub District, Sambas. The research method was survey with 133 fish farmers as respondents. Financial analysis with the criteria of NPV, IRR, B / C, and sensitivity analyis. The results of thisresearch showed polyculture of milkfish - tiger shrimp in Pemangkat, Jawai, andJawai SelatanSub District are financially feasible. Polyculture ponds in the Pemangkat sub district with the application of sylvofishery by 60:40 patterns (60% planted of mangroves and 40% ponds area) provides the highest NPV value of 40,492,764, net B / C of 1.9, and 39.5% IRR , with a return on investment for 3.6 years.   Keywords: polyculture, milkfish-tiger shrimp, financial analysis, mangrove

Abstract

Bengkulu city has potential in marine and fisheries sector which has not been managed with maximum.  The purpose of this research is to see how the prospects for the development of fishery business in Bengkulu city taking into account the revenue and feasibility of capture fisheries of small fishing boats and paying trawlers boats.  This research conducted in Pulau Baai and Pasar Baru.  Respondents were selected using census method as many as 24 small fishing boats and 10 payang trawlers boats.  Methods analysis using business analytics and business efficiency.  This results showed that the fishery business in Bengkulu city has an efficient and feasible to be developed with R/C ratio 2,37 and B/C ratio 1,37 for small fishing boats.  For paying trawlers boats obtained R/C ratio 1,52 and B/C ratio 0,52.

Abstract

The success of agricultural development is strongly related to how far information of innovation reached the farmers. Here lies the importance of agricultural outreach communication by observing the level of farmers innovativeness in practicing organic cropping pattern. This research observes the relation between farmers innovativeness with the organic farming practice level of sustainability. The innovativeness variables being observed are the social-economy, individual and communication activities. Variables being observed in the organic farming practice is the implementation of organic farming principles such as over three years land conversion, usage of local seeds, the use of organic fertilizer, the use of non chemical pesticides and division of land and irrigation from the non-organic farming. This research was carried in the Sungai Rengas Villa, Sungai Kakap Sub-district, Kubu Raya District, West Kalimantan. The research employs explanatory research method, with data collection by survey. This research took samples of 36 respondents. Primary data in the research was collected through questionnaires accompanied by interviews to a number of organic farmer in Sungai Rengas Village, Sungai Kakap Sub-district, Kubu Raya District. Secondary data was taken from the local government institution (village/sub-district), Department of Lands, Agricultural and Plantation Office, or related statistical data accessible in the internet. After the data was collected, it was coded and input into SPSS.
