Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika (JPM), an electronic peer-reviewed international journal, provides a forum for publishing the original research articles, review articles from contributors, and the novel technology news related to mathematics education. This journal is provided for writers, teachers, students, professors, and researchers, who will publish their research reports or their literature review articles (only for invited contributors) about mathematics education and its instructional for authors and readers worldwide. Start from July 2007, this journal publishes two times a year, in July and January. Besides regular writers, for each volume, the contents will be contributed by invited contributors who experts in mathematics education either from Indonesia or abroad. The journal invites original research articles and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The whole spectrum of research in mathematics education are welcome, which includes, but is not limited to the following topics Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) or Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia, Design/Development Research in Mathematics Education, Mathematics Ability, and PISA Task.

Abstract

This study aims to develop assessment instruments in Indonesian version of Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) with the topic special quadrilateral including the aspect of validity, of practicality, and of the effectivity. The methodology that use in this study is a developmental research. This form of research consists of self evaluation and prototyping. The subject of this study is 32 students of the first grade of SMPN 17 Palembang. Experts review, and documentary analysis were used incollecting data. For evaluating process, observation sheet, learning log, the use of student’s strategy and solution from the result of their achievement. The collected data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive. The findings show that assessment instruments in PMRI in the topic special quadrilaterals could be categorized as valid, practical, and effective. The validity is measured by using the aspects of contents, contruction, and language based on assessment’s principles of PMRI. Based on the experts coments, the assesement instruments developed can be practically in the teaching learning process. According to the observer , the observation sheet and learning log show that students are motivated to be individual or group in doing the exercises. The effectivity is analyzed operationally that is to see student’s ability when the instruments are trying out including the process and the products. Students can argue either orally or writen. Abstract

This study aims to (1) develop prototype software called computer aided learning (CAL) for Real Analysis courses, and (2) produce a valid and practice prototype software CAL in Real Analysis. CAL was tried out to prospective math teachers at the Department in Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Sriwijaya University. That is used in this study is a developmental research that consists of analyzing, designing, evaluating, and revising. The Instruments for collecting data are questioner, observation, and test. Questioner is used to evaluate CAL. Observation is used to see the students’ skills and the students’ activities. Test is used to see students’ achievement after using CAL uses test. All data are analyzed using descriptive technique. The results of analysis are: (1) CAL Developing is just for sequences, series and limit function and the cycles are analyzing, designing, evaluating, and revising. (2) CAL prototype which is developed has been valid based on expert review and practice based on try out.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan sebuah website dengan konten program linear. Responden penelitian ini adalah para siswa kelas XII SMA Negeri 1 Palembang. Media ini dikembangkan melalui empat tahapan, yaitu tahap analisis pendahuluan, tahap perancangan, tahap evaluasi, dan tahap revisi. Untuk melihat keefektifannya, peneliti melakukan uji pakar dan uji coba ke lapangan dengan indikator bagaimana motivasi, sikap, dan hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan prototype media website yang ketiga merupakan disain yang efektif  ketika digunakan pada saat pembelajaran dengan 71,79% siswa Termotivasi; 61,54% siswa mempunyai sikap Tertarik, dan hasil belajar siswa yang mencapai 51,28% masuk dalam kategori Baik Sekali, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa website yang peneliti kembangkan efektif digunakan pada saat pembelajaran matematika.

Abstract

Pandangan matematika sebagai aktivitas insani rupanya merupakan pilihan yang tepat dalam kerangka menjadikan warga negara Indonesia menjadi literasi dalam matematika. Kemampuan literasi matematika harus dikuasai oleh setiap warga Indonesia dalam menuju  “mathematics for all”. Fungsi dari mathematics for all tentu saja harus (1) mendasari matematika lebih lanjut serta (2) dapat diaplikasikan dalam kehidupan keseharian umumnya bagi mereka yang tidak akan melanjutkan studinya (Soedjadi, 1999).   Kata kunci : Matematiks sebagai aktivitas insani, mathematich for all
