Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has made several culinary entrepreneurs in the city of Malang had a decline in turnover due to limited of tourists entering the city of Malang. Cleanliness efforts and guidelines called CHSE by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy are published to help address these impacts. The specific purpose of this study is to analyze the culinary needs of consumers in the city of Malang during a pandemic with the aim of making a strategy that can increase purchase intention. The urgency of this research is to get a strategy to increase consumer purchase intention in Malang City for culinary entrepreneurs in Malang city based on consumer preferences for culinary in the new-normal era. The method used is need analysis. The Mean and Standard Deviation are used to calculate the average level of need for which CHSE-based culinary aspects are the most dominant. The findings from this study are that the culinary aspects that dominate purchase intention are cleanliness, safety and environmental (environment/green product).

Abstract

Employee engagement becomes one of the most important driving factors in the success of business processes because it can provide high motivation for the employees' positive behavior and support the achievement of the travel company goals. Positive behavior includes striving to provide the best service and ensure consumer satisfaction. Various studies explain the relationship of employee engagement with leadership and employee satisfaction factors. This study aims to analyze the effect of leadership and employee satisfaction on fostering employee engagement. The research instrument used questionnaires as a data-gathering tool. About 77 travel agency employees participated as respondents based on accidental sampling techniques. Data analysis used SEM-PLS with Smart PLS software. The results showed that leadership affects  employee satisfaction and engagement. Leadership having fair behavior and being accommodative to the employees’ needs and interests will foster employee satisfaction, which ultimately affects employees engagement. Therefore, it is important for the company to improve the leadership factor

Abstract

Bogor Regency has a variety of cultural heritage, but this potential has not been optimized as a tourist attraction. The purpose of this study is to develop a cultural heritage-based tourism development strategy in Bogor Regency. The research was conducted in December 2020 – January 2021 with literature studies. The study locations focused on the 16 sub-districts that were selected the lowest Human Development Index score and designated as cultural tourism areas. The strategy for developing cultural heritage tourism is carried out by SWOT analysis. Bogor Regency has 29 cultural tourism attractions spread across 13 of the 16 study locations. The cultural heritage has a different story related to the Tarumanegara Kingdom, Prabu Siliwangi, Banten Kingdom, Ir. Soekarno, the Dutch and the Prehistoric Period. Based on the results SWOT analysis, the right strategy to be applied in the development of cultural tourism in Bogor Regency is the S-O strategy.

Abstract

Currently all tourist attractions in the city of Malang have the PeduliLindungi application installed. The application is one of the requirements so that visitors can enter tourist attractions during PPKM. The PeduliLindungi application is also used as an anticipation of exposure to Covid-19 in the tourist environment. Moreover, epidemiology experts have also warned to be alert to the third wave of Covid-19, as a result, a fast application is needed to provide information about covid. The purpose of this study is to look at the use of the PeduliLindungi application system on the visitor side of the existing Desatinasi by looking at the quality of the system, the quality of information and the quality of service provided by the application, especially visitors to the tourism sector in Malang City. The population of this study is all people who have used services in all tourism sectors such as (tourist attractions, transportation, cafes, malls, hotels, and cinemas), the number of samples is 252 respondents with the sampling technique used is accidental sampling. The analysis used is descriptive, analysis of multiple linear regression, hypothesis testing (F test, t test) and coefficient of determination (R2) test. The results of the study 1) System quality, information quality and service quality have a positive effect on user satisfaction of the PeduliLindungi application. 2) The quality of the system has no direct effect on net benefits. 3) Information quality and service quality have a positive effect on the net benefits of using the PeduliLindungi application. 4) The quality of the system has a positive effect on net benefits through user satisfaction of the PeduliLindungi application. 5) Information quality and service quality have no effect on net benefits through user satisfaction of the PeduliLindungi application

Abstract

The sustainability of a tourist destination can be achieved by correctly planning, exploiting, and growing the area's tourism potential. Local gastronomy is one of the potentials that can be cultivated. Local cuisine has evolved into a driving force in enticing tourists to a destination. The goal of this research is to better understand the consumption habits of local food tourists. A food tourism framework is defined in this study, which includes culinary attribute, culinary experience, and culinary atmosphere. A total of 337 people who participated in a cuisine tour in Cirebon were surveyed to test the framework that has been built. Data was processed using descriptive statistical methods, followed by cross analysis using the Independent Sample T-Test on measurement results that had been adjusted to the respondents' attributes. The data demonstrate a strong response to culinary attribute, culinary experience, and culinary atmosphere. This research provides practitioners and stakeholders with a new perspective on what should be a concern in the development of culinary tourism in Cirebon. This study adds to the food tourism literature by elaborating on the notion of local food tourism, which is articulated effectively in this study.

Abstract

Homestay is one of the supporting elements of the West Sumatra tourism sector. In its development, the homestay business in West Sumatra has not yet achieved the best performance. The orientation of homestay owners to the market (consumers and competitors) and technology are aspects that are not yet clearly implemented, while these two aspects are needed in achieving business performance. This study aims to determine how market orientation and technology are applied by homestay owners. To achieve this goal, the perceptions of 104 homestay owners were collected through questionnaires distributed online and offline. The collected data was then analyzed descriptively. The results show that homestay owners in West Sumatra have implemented market orientation by making customer satisfaction the main goal of running a business and evaluating it regularly. Homestay owners in West Sumatra are also mutually supportive and responsive to competition. The technology orientation aspect has not been implemented thoroughly, where the homestay owner already understands the benefits of technology for his business but has not been able to fully implement it in his business.

Abstract

The study is aimed to find out the variable effects of accessibility, organizer, accommodation, venue, and price through event participation decisions. The research sample of the population was the event organizer in Yogyakarta and Central Java, however, the data was conducted through a random sampling technique by 100 respondents. There are five variables tested that are thought to have an influence on participants' decisions in participating in the event, namely accessibility (X1), organizer (X2), accommodation (X3), venue (X4), and price perceived (X5). By classical assumption test, it was found that the five variables had a significant influence on the decision to participate in the event

Abstract

The decrease number of tourists’ visit in Kotabaru district, in the year of 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic serves as the background of this research.The aim of this research is to compose a marketing and development strategy of 5 priority tourist destinations in Kotabaru district South Borneo province namely: Siring Laut Saijaan beach, Gedambaan beach, Samber Gelap beach, Tamiang bay, and Tanjung Kunyit bay. This research is using a quantitative approach with a survey questionnaire as a tool for data collection using a Likert scale to measure tourists’ perception of 5 aspects namely: attraction, amenities, accessibility, image, price, tourist satisfaction on the 5 priority tourist destinations in Kotabaru district. This research combine marketing and development strategy investigation by using demography and tourists’ perception analysis of those 5 aspects. The result of this research concludes that an effective promotion strategy using market segmentation, the development of four aspects such as attraction, amenities, accessibility, image with reasonable price will improve the quality of tourist destination which subsequently will increase the number of tourists visiting.

Abstract

After the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, urban tourism is expected to be transformed and developed to be more sustainable. The purpose of this study is to develop prospects and strategies for the development of sustainable city tourism during the new normal in the tourism destination of Sultan Siak Halfway House in Pekanbaru City. In this study, SAP and ETOP analysis methods are used to identify the prospectivity of sustainable urban tourism development, while SWOT methods through the formulation of SO, ST, WO, and WT strategies are used to formulate sustainable city tourism development strategies during the new normal in the tourism destinations of Sultan Siak Halfway House. The findings of this study indicate that the development of sustainable urban tourism during the new normal in the tourism destinations of Sultan Siak Halfway House is a future business carried out with the primary strategy on the realization of synergy among tourism sector stakeholders through the improvement and development of social, economic, and urban tourism environments that are healthier, cleaner, safer, and more comfortable.

Abstract

To prevent the transmission of the Covid-19 virus, the hotel industry continues to improve, especially with regard to health protocols, therefore the Hotel has started implementing the Cleanliness, Hygiene, Sanitation, and Environment (CHSE) protocol, this protocol was created by the government to increase efforts to prevent and control transmission Covid-19 for the public in public places and facilities to prevent new clusters of transmission. The implementation of the CHSE protocol requires the readiness of all hotel employees to implement it. This research is a causal quantitative research that aims to see the readiness of star hotel employees in Surabaya, Malang, and Batu to implement changes seen from 4 dimensions, namely Self-Efficacy, Optimism, Hope, Resilience. This research was conducted by distributing questionnaires to 68 hotel employees, where the majority of respondents came from the FB Service department 29 people (42.65%) and the Front Office 18 people (26.47%) FB Culinary 11 people (16.18%), Housekeeping 6 people ( 8.82%), Security 4 people (5.88%). Data processing in this study uses the help of smart PLS 2.0. From the results of this study it can be concluded that 4 dimensions, namely Self-Efficacy, Optimism, Hope, Resilience have a positive and significant effect on employee readiness in implementing changes.
