Abstract

An adult does not master language skills suddenly, but he acquires continuously since he was an infant. Since then, one began to acquire many particular words which are mainly exposed to him by parents or the ones who take care of the infant. If an infant or toddler has a good development, he will understand better what he senses what he looks at, and what he listens. When infant begins to understand something in his mind and motoric system of speech organ develop, he will try to communicate all of them to others in verbal form , it is possibly universal at the end of sensorimotor period. On the other hand, the Indonesian children’s language skills development which includes development of phonologies, morphologies, syntax, and semantic-lexicon, also, basically are universal at the end of sensorimotor period. It is suggested that the infant’s and toddler’s language skills is need to investigated deeply since there are many factors which influenced cognitive competence, language skills, or both of them, such as child’s caretaking pattern, health condition, or social interaction with his environment. Therefore, the result hopefully would enrich the study of Indonesian children development of language acquisition who have various mother tongue background. Hence, it is possibly universal at the end of sensorimotor period, especially syntax, and semantic-lexicon, also, basically are universal at the end of sensorimotor period. But only the process to master the skills differentiate the language skills development.The process including communication, monolingual, natural, and simple word or sentence.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences between the performance of counselors having educator certification and those having no educator certification in providing guidance and counseling services in schools. The population of this study were all counselors of junior high schools, senior high schools, vocational high schools, in the City of Madiun. The research samples taken with purposive sampling technique were 62 counselors consisting of 31 counselors who were certified and 31 counselors who were not.The data collection technique was a questionnaire with 4 alternative answers. The data analysis technique was descriptive percentage (DP and t-test. Descriptive percentage analysis results showed that the performance of counselors having sertification and the performance of those having no certification were both excellent in the implementation of guidance and counseling services in schools. The mean of the performance of counselors having educator certification was 1.1 higher than the mean score of the performance of counselors having no educator certification. The results of the t test showed a significant value of 0.718 > the value of α (0.05), then Ho was rejected meaning there is no effect of educator certification on the performance of counselors in carrying out guidance and counseling services in schools.

Abstract

Rambutan is a cultivation plant and very useful. Rambutan can be found in almost every area in different altitudes. The research aimed to find the morphology of Rambutan leaves, fruits and seeds in three different areas with different altitudes (±50 m, ±300 m, and ±1000 m) in Ngawi Regency. The sample of Rambutan was taken randomly from five subdistricts of Ngawi Regency with different altitudes. The research applied a completely randomized design in which different altitudes were used as the treatment. Morphological characteristic would be focused on the leaves, the fruits, and the seeds of Rambutan. The data would be analysed using one-way anova test with 95% of certainty and the data were examined using DMRT. The result shows the different altitudes will influence the morphological variation of Rambutan leaves, fruits, and seeds. There are fourteen characteristics observed and there are six different characters that can be seen, such as the characters of the edge of leaves, the shapes of the fruits, the colours of the peel, the quality of the fruits, the texture of the arilus, and the seeds of Rambutan.

Abstract

Website is a good medium for effective promotion; sending and receiving information can be done very quickly. Correct and accurate information will have an impact on society, namely increasing public trust. Quality analysis of website usage was applied to measure the level of user satisfaction with the information and services needed. This study analyzed the amount of users’ satisfaction with university websites using the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) approach. The recommendation of the IPA results is to prioritize maintaining the quality of information and services.

Abstract

The observation was aimed at testing the impact of product quality and product image on customer satisfaction. The research population were everyone who had ever drunk Coca-Cola. The research used purpose sampling, namely a sampling technique because of some consideration.The sum of the samples were 10; the samples were enough since there were only 2 independent variables. The samples were collected with questionnaire and tested with the SPSS. The research results show that the product quality and the product image have positive impact on customer satisfaction.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of work engagement as intervening variable relationship between leader member exchange and job performance. This study used a quantitative research method.The samples used in this study were 213 people in the PT Kusumaputra Santosa Karanganyar. The data analysis technique was path analysis. The results of this study were:  a) LMX had significant effect on job performance. b) LMX and work engagement had significant effect on job performance. c) Work engagement was able to be a mediating variable and was expressed as a partial mediating variables (partial mediation). This was because the influence of leader member exchange variables for job performance was remained significant even after entering work engagement variable into the regression model but the regression coefficient was declined.

Abstract

This study aimed to empirically test the students' perceptions of lecturer competence in the courses they had taken. The research samples were undergraduate accounting students of Economic and Business Faculty Universitas Katolik Widya Mandala Madiun in the academic year of 2016/2017. The samples were obtained by purposive sampling method. Data were collected by distributing the questionnaire directly to the respondents. Hypothesis was tested by multiple regression analysis. The test results showed that the lecturer’s pedagogic competence, the personality competence, the professional competence and the social competence did not affect the level of the students’ understanding on accounting courses. This means that the competency instruments and the understanding of learning methods in students still need further attention. Similarly, synergy is needed among the students, the lecturers, the materials, and the methods used in the learning process.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas penerjemahan tindak tutur ilokusi direktif  dalam film “12 Years a  Slave”. Tujuan artikel ini adalah (1) mengidentifikasi strategi kesantunan yang digunakan oleh para karakter dalam film dan (2) mendeskripsikan pergeseran makna dalam penerjemahan tindak tutur ilokusi direktif dan kaitannya dengan strategi kesantunan. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif-kualitatif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi dengan teknik dokumentasi. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling. Analisis data menggunakan pragmatics equivalence method and translational equivalence method. Terdapat 139 data tuturan direktif.  Strategi kesantunan yang digunakan untuk mengekspresikan tindak tutur direktif adalah bald on-record, positive politeness, negative politeness dan off-record. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persamaan strategi kesantunan antara teks sumber dan teks target memberikan efek positif pada tidak adanya pergeseran makna dalam terjemahan. Namun, hal tersebut tidak berarti bahwa pergeseran strategi kesantunan dalam penerjemahan tidak diizinkan. Pergeseran pada strategi kesantunan tidak selalu memberikan efek negatif pada pergeseran makna terjemahan. Terkadang pergeseran diperlukan untuk menghasilkan ekspresi yang lebih alami dalam bahasa target.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the application of Institution Accounting System to the quality of Financial Statements. The population selected in this study were employees who worked at the Moluccas River Region Hall; they were 169 people. The samples in this study were the financial, program and data, and the employment head of 40 people. Data collection methods used by researchers were questionnaires and documentation, while data analysis was done with simple linear regression. The result of the research showed that Institution Accounting System had positive and significant effect on the quality of financial report.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relationship between the frequency of accessing pornographic content towards adolescents sexual behavior. The subjects of this study were 90 adolescent students who attendedCatholicPharmacy vocational school of Bina Farma Madiun. The measuring instrument used was the scale of frequency in accessing pornographic content and the scale of adolescentssexual behavior. Data analysis method used in this research was regression analysis of SPSS program version 22. Based on the results of calculation analysis obtained there was a correlation coefficient r = 0,042, in which R² = 0,034. This meant that there was a positive relationship between adolescents sexual behavior with frequency in accessing pornographic content, with effective contribution variable of 3.4%.
