Abstract

Economic Base is an important concept in the regional development planning. This paperconsists of three parts; theory, analytical tool and case studies of regional economic base. Firstly,we review the theory and various empirical measures of economic base. Location Quotient (LQ) iscommonly used in the empirical works in regional economic planning i.e. economic base.Secondly, we point out some shortcomings in LQ as an analytical tool for economic base. Basedon works of Vollrath (1991), Laursen (1998) and Dalumn et al (1998), Wörz (2005), we propose amodified version of LQ, namely symmetric LQ (SLQ), which is suitable for analyzing dynamicspecialization using econometric models. Thirdly, we apply the analytical tool to analyze thedynamics of economic base in the cases of districts in Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia.Key words: Symmetric Location Quotient, Dynamic Economic Base. Abstract

Company currently must begin to focus on delivering value (value) and increase customerloyalty. Loyalty means consumers returned again and again to conduct business transactions(purchases), although probably instead the company's product the best product on the market orhave the lowest prices. This "irrational" consumer behavior’s can be explained by a view that"good relations" (good relationships) which are established with the consumer, is the key to thesuccess of a company in retaining customers. The research goals are to test whether there isinfluence of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to Customer Loyalty and to test howmuch influence Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to Customer Loyalty. This researchwas conducted by distributing questionnaires to the community in the city of Bandung, which hasever conduct banking transactions in PT BCA Tbk. Testing and processing of data using SPSS11.5 software with the help of regression and simple correlation method. The results showed thatcustomer relationship management affects customer loyalty.Key words: customer relationship management, customer loyalty.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of organizational behavioral factors,cognitive and affective conflict against SAKD usefulness and behavioral factors influence theorganization of cognitive and affective conflict and behavioral factors influence the organizationof the usefulness SAKD inervening by the presence of cognitive and affective conflict. Study'srespondents were civil servants who work on DPPKAD Local Government of Magelang regency.This study sample is determined by using purposive sampling, in order to obtain a sample of 114respondents with a return rate of 76%. The hypothesis in this study were tested using multipleregression approach.The results showed that only the use of information technology and cognitiveconflict has a positive effect on usability SAKD. Training and clarity of purpose has a positiveeffect on cognitive conflict. Clarity of purpose,superior support,and information tecnologynegatively affect affective conflict and training proved negative effect to affective conflict.Cognitive conflict SAKD positive effect on usability, but not with affective conflict. Cognitiveconflict as a variable interverning between behavior organizational factors with usability SAKD,suggesting that behavior organizational factors have a positive relationship to the usability SAKD,mediated by cognitive conflict. Interverning affective conflict as a variable between organizationalfactors with usability SAKD, there is a negative relationship .Key words: organizational behaviour factor, conflict cognitive, affective conflict ,financialaccounting system.

Abstract

This research’s goal is to describe current coverage status of course material pertaining toInternational Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in financial accounting course, accountinglecturer’s readiness to integrate IFRS into their course, and institutional support to their lecturers tointegrate IFRS into their course. This research also examines impact of accounting lecturer’sreadiness and institutional support on IFRS coverage, and explores perceived implication of IFRSadoption on accounting practice and accounting education. Data collected through survey. Weconducted a survey on 53 accounting lectures from 14 universities in Yogyakarta. The result showthat on integrating the IFRS material in the accounting courses, the IFRS coverage’s mean, theaccounting lecture’s readiness, and the institutional support is relatively low. A regression analysisreveals that accounting lecture’s readiness is positively affect the IFRS coverage at significant levelof 1%, while institutional support is not statistically significant. Results also indicate 72% oflecturers’ perceive IFRS will increase judgment on the implementation, while 51% of surveyedlecturers suggest some adjustment on current curriculum, and 68% believe that professional ethicsshould be included in future curriculum.Key words: IFRS coverage, accounting lecture’s readiness, institutional support.

Abstract

Using celebrity endorser for communicating a product has been increasing over the pastyears. It has more advantages rather than using non-celebrity endorser. Marketers obviouslyacknowledge the power of celebrities in influencing consumer-purchasing decisions. Any brandcan get a celebrity easily, but getting a celebrity consistent with the right brand, to the rightdegree, at the right time, for the right purpose and in the right way is not easy. Celebrityendorsement if used effectively will make good advantage in communicating the brand andaffecting buying behavior of the customer. However, using celebrity as endorser still has risk. Abstract

creditor. As an agent needs to carry out the mandate the principal (lender) based on the creditcontract agreed between the creditor with the debtor. But when lenders face high informationasymmetry, then it can not design a fair credit contract. Consequently agency conflicts betweencreditors with the debtor could occur, the price of credit to be expensive, a high credit risk.Consequences needs to be managed for example through an effective monitoring system, loancovenance, tightening regulation of Legal Lending Limit, Credit Rationing, guarantees and creditinsurance and debt restructuring.Key word: asymmetric information, agency, covenance loan, credit rationing, debt restructuring.

Abstract

This article tries to analyze the psychology bias that happen when an individual is taking a high risk investment decision. By referring on the Myopic Loss Aversion Theory (MLA), the subsequent is conducted by manipulation towards the participants through two kinds of treatment (frequent and infrequent), by using ‘within—subject’ design. The experiment result pointed showed that there is a consistency of the participants toward the MLA theory. Analysis from the gender side indicates that there is a significant of different behavior between male and female participants. Other finding also indicates that there is a ‘shock-effect’ which is experienced by the participants during the experiment. Suggestions for future research are provided. Abstract

There are four fundamental elements in strategy framework that reflect company’s strategic profile, i.e., dimension, facet, context, and domain. The essence of strategy is the choice of actions that different from those of competitors. Thus, the primary role of strategy is not to respond opportunities and threats passively, but to adapt itself to the change of its external environment actively. Four critical dimensions of strategy existence are planning, pattern, position, perspective, and tactic. Two domains of strategy are content and process which related of each other. In content issues reflected “what strategy is supposed to be chosen by organization”, while in process issues implied “how organization suppose to chose and implement its strategy”. Lastly, the key element of strategy framework is organization performance. In the context of strategy content, there are two determinant which determine organization performance i.e., strategic stance and strategic action. Strategic stance is defined as the rate in which organization exists at the position of prospector, defender, or reactor, whereas strategic action is emphasizing of market change, service, income, external relation, and organization characteristics. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of various dimensions of organizational commitment and job satisfaction in predicting various attitudes toward organizational change. The study uses a sample of 83 person, consists of  employees and lectures in Economic Faculty of Unsoed University. The response rate is 55,3 percent. Hierarchical regression analysis results showed three major findings for this research: First, job satisfaction directly and positively influences affective commitment and  various dimension of attitudes toward organizational change. Second, various dimensions of organizational commitment directly, both positively and negatively,  influences cognitive and behavioral tendency dimensions of attitudes toward organizational change. Third, affective and continuance commitment mediates the influences of job satisfaction on both cognitive and behavioral tendency dimensions of attitude toward organizational change. Implications, limitation, and recommendations for future research are discussed. Key words: job satisfaction, commitment, change
