Abstract

The principle of a three phase hybrid clamped three-level inverter was presented. Taking sixty-four switch states into consideration, the operational states of hybrid clamped three-level inverter and different current circuits in different switch states were detailed derived. Optimal modulation algorithm was proposed based on the neutral small vectors by different combination, which can realize the automatic balancing of the neutral-point voltage with few switching cycles and did not need to measure the voltage of the clamped capacitors. The proposed modulation algorithm was also capable of restraining the turn-off over-voltage of the power switching devices effectively. Simulation results were given to verify the feasibility and correctness. Experimental results obtained by DSP-based implementation of the controller on 1 MW prototype show good performance in terms of DC-bus voltages regulation (small neutral point potential function and low DC ripple coefficient) and good sinusoidal current.

Abstract

A new approach to the optimal synthesis of planar arrays able to radiate mask-constrained shaped beams by exploiting the minimum number of radiating elements is presented. By taking advantage from both the recent theory of Compressive Sensing and the multiplicity of equivalent solutions available for the generation of an unique shaped-beam power pattern, the synthesis results extremely fast and effective. In particular, the overall design is reduced to a Convex Programming optimization, with the inherent advantages in terms of solutions’ optimality and computational burden.

Abstract

The improved LDPC code decoding algorithm mainly refereed to improving decoding performance or reducing the decoding computation complexity. No matter hard decision or soft decision LDPC code decoding algorithm, we can get all ring number by one test, instead of testing each long ring number, after optimizing ring detection algorithm. We putted forward the application of Gaussian Markov Random Field model to realize the source parameter estimation, and make logarithmic likelihood ratio correction of bit sequence received by the channel decoding end. Joining source residual redundancy information to increase the decoder error correction ability. Source estimation adaptive variable can correct coefficient, and it was regulated by error rate. Under the condition that computational complexity increasedlittlely, the LDPC code decoding algorithm based on MRF effectively improved the decoding performance and implemented the improvement of LDPC code decoding algorithm .In the end, we realized the decoding algorithm by using FPGA.

Abstract

In the existing cloud computing environment, batch scheduling strategies mainly focus on the management of resources allocation. This paper provides the task scheduling algorithm based on service quality which fully considers priority and scheduling deadline. The improved algorithm combines the advantages of Min-min algorithm with higher throughput and linear programming with global optimization, considers not only all the tasks but also the high priority tasks. The experiment result shows that compared with the Min-min and DBCT the completed tasks of the improved algorithm increase about 10.6% and 22.0%, on the other hand the completed high priority tasks also increases approximately 20% and 40%.

Abstract

Economic dispatch determines the optimal generation outputs to minimize the toal fuel cost while satisfying the load demand and operational constraints. Modern optimization techniques fail to solve the problem in a robust manner and finding robust global optimization techniques is necessary for efficient system operation. In this study, the potentiality of introducing chaos into the standard Cuckoo Search (CS) in order to further enhance its global search ability is investigated. Deterministic chaotic maps are random-based techniques that can provide a balanced exploration and exploitation searches for the algorithm. Four different variants are generated by carefully choosing four different locations (within the standard CS) with potential adoption of a candidate chaotic map. Then detailed studies are carried out on benchmark power system problems with four different locations to find out the most efficient one. The best of all test cases generated is chosen and compared with algorithms presented in the literature. The results show that the proposed method with the proposed chaotic map outperforms standard CS. Additionally, the chaos-enhanced CS has a very good performance in comparison with QPSO and NSS.

Abstract

Digital image watermarking is one of the proposed solutions for copyright protection of multimedia data. This technique is better than Digital Signatures and other methods because it does not increase overhead. Watermarking adds the additional requirement of robustness. To improve the robustness of digital image watermarking method based on the image frequency, this paper adopts the intermediate frequency to embed the watermarking and proposes an digital image watermarking algorithm based on robust principal component analysis (RPCA) and discrete cosine transform (DCT). Firstly, the high frequency part and the low frequency part of the image are extracted by the RPCA algorithm. Because the high frequency part has complex statistical characteristics, this paper processes the high frequency part with "8×8" DCT method to obtain intermediate frequency coefficients and then the watermarking information is embedded into the obtained intermediate frequency coefficients. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm leads to satisfactory robustness to the attacks of impulse noise and cropping.

Abstract

This paper proposes two strategies for handling conflict schedule of two meetings which invite the same member of personnel at the same time through host-to-host negotiation scheme. The strategy is to let the member attend the other meeting under the condition that the group decision regarding the schedule is not changed and meeting quorum is fulfilled, namely release strategy. Other strategy is to substitute the absent personnel in order to keep the number of attendees above the quorum, namely substitute strategy. This paper adapts a mechanism design approach, namely Clarke Tax Mechanism, to satisfy incentive compatibility and individual rationality principal in meeting scheduling. By using a release strategy and substitute strategy, colliding meetings can still be held according to the schedule without the need for rescheduling. This paper shows the simulation result of using the strategies within some scenarios. It demonstrates that the number of meeting failures can be reduced with negotiation.

Abstract

In this paper a two layers microstrip antenna design at 2.45 GHz ISM band with Harmonic rejection filter embedded on the ground plane is presented. The two roger substrates with relative permittivity of 2.2 are separated by an air gap which enhances the antenna gain. The design is simulated using Computer Simulation Technology (CST) Studio Suite 2015. Different aperture couplings slots such as rectangular and triangular aperture coupling slots are studied and compared. It is found that the antenna with triangular aperture coupling slot enhances the antenna performance by suppressing 2nd and 3rd harmonics at 5 GHz and 8 GHz, respectively, increasing the antenna gain and providing a better circular polarization behavior. The simulated antenna design achieves a gain of 9 dB, return loss of -23.6dB, axial ratio of 1.27dB and axial-ratio bandwidth of 40.8% (2 ~ 3 GHz). The proposed antenna shows an enhancement in the antenna performance which makes it a suitable candidate for rectifying antenna or rectenna application as it can increase the total conversion efficiency resulting in a high output DC voltage used to power low power electronic and electrical devices such as wireless sensor.

Abstract

Water quality is the most important aspect to ensure success in various aspects of life, for example in the shrimp ponds. On a shrimp pond, water conditions are very vital because it has a very strict threshold. Unstable water conditions will affect growth and condition of shrimps, eat passion of shrimps, until their ability to survive greatly affect the survival of the shrimps. The percentage of farmers harvesting shrimps if the water did not have good conditions then the farmers will suffer significant losses if yields were not as expected, began from the amount of shrimp that was reduced due to death or the quality of the shrimp were judged from the size of the shrimp. So the authors wanted to do research on how to maintain the quality of the water in shrimp pond so that the water quality is maintained. To overcome this, we need to monitor water conditions based on the level of salinity and turbidity of water in order to stay in good condition. In this case, the researchers used fuzzy logic to monitor the amount of water quality and water volume. In this study only conducted water quality monitoring process but to do water changes to a certain condition still conducted manually. As well as the programming language used as the NI LabVIEW graphical programming with the application form to see monitoring of water quality so that water conditions are well preserved.
