Abstract

Sustainable energy for the mobile electronic devices always needed during the energy storage batteries capacity in the mobile electronic devices are limited for a few hours for the usage time. To get a long lasting operating time from the mobile electronics equipment sets, the energy source should always be connected into the device. In this paper, we were proposed a charging energy method via wireless operation supply using the microwaves (RF) radiated by the air multi-frequency. The RF to DC rectifier circuit is a major component for changing the RF wave to an electronic current (DC). The Dickson models were used as an approach to superiority includes a simple series, low DC ripple factor, etc. The design, analysis, and the experimentation from the rectifier circuit have been conducted and presented in this paper. In the measurement, the mobile electronic devices placed at a distance about 5 meters from the energy source with the system voltage DC 3.7V, and have been obtained at the working frequency between 825 - 960MHz with the PCE values 12-33%, and a ripple factor of ± 0,01%. The charging time energy is needed about 4 hours at the research trial room, and about 11 hours outdoor had been observed. Based on these results, the wirelessly energy charging method for the mobile electronic devices is a potential methods to resolve the sustainable energy issue and the green technology supporting with the most programs.

Abstract

Flower pollination is a single objective optimization technique which as a unconstrained optimization method is applied for the stabilization of the rotary inverted pendulum system. It was observed that the flower pollination method gave better sensitivity in control of the pendulum about its upright unstable equilibrium position with less time and definitely indicated that the method is an energy efficient method when compared with other methods like direct pole placement.  This method yielded results under the influence of time delay and have proven that the influence of time delay is significantly felt and would cause loss of energy, however the presence of flower pollination for optimization minimizes the loss incurred due to time delay and makes the system significant in terms of sensitivity.

Abstract

This work presents performance of groundplane shaping and its effect in four element dualband multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna. This proposed four element dualband MIMO antenna consists of four bowtie dipole antenna which operates at 1800 MHz (low frequency) and 2300 MHz (high frequency). This proposed four element dualband MIMO antenna occupies a 270 x 210 x  100 mm3  of FR 4 substrate. We use four types  of groundplane pattern i.e. full groundplane, cornered spatial groundplane, crossed middle groundplane, and spiral groundplane. These various grounplane patterns influence the performance of main parameters of dualband MIMO antenna. Cornered spatial groundplane pattern yields a largest bandwidth (VSWR ≤ 2) 282 MHz or 15.24% of center frequency at low frequency. Full groundplane pattern creates 135.2 MHz at high frequency. In addition, cornered spatial groundplane pattern also generates a lowest VSWR  that  is valued 1.21 at both low frequency and high frequency. The S parameters, basically both cornered spatial and full groundplane pattern produce a better return loss than two others. All four groundplane patterns deliver  equally a mutual coupling parameter. The last, this proposed four element dualband MIMO with various groundplane patterns gives a good farfield properties i.e. gain, radiation pattern, H-E field.

Abstract

News curators in twitter are a user, which is interested in following, spreading, giving feedback of recent popular articles. There are two kinds of this user, news curator as human user and news aggregator as bot user. In prior works about news curator, the classification system built using followers, URL, mention and retweet feature. However, there are limited prior works for classifiying Indonesian News Curator in twitter and still hard for labelling data involve just two features: followers and URL. In this paper, we proposed a framework for classifying Indonesian news curator in twitter using Naïve Bayes Classifier (NBC) and added features such as location, bio profile, and common tweet. Another purpose for analysing the influential features of certain class, so its make easier for labelling data of this role in the future. Examination result using percentage split as evaluating system produced 87% accuracy. The most influential features for news curator are followers, bio profile, mention and retweet. For news aggregator class are followers, location, and URL. The rest just common tweet feature for not both class. We implemented Feature Subset Selection (FSS) for increasing system performance and avoiding the over fitting data, it has produced 92.90% accuracy.

Abstract

The development of internet technology makes more information can be accessed. It makes information need to be organized in order to be easily managed. One solution can be used is by using the entity annotation approach which generates tags to represent that document. In this study, TAGME technology is implemented on a WordPress plugin, which is used to manage a blog. Moreover, information on Wikipedia ‘Bahasa Indonesia’ is processed to generate an anchor dictionary which is required by the technology that is implemented. This plugin performs entity annotation by giving tag suggestion for posts in a blog. Testing is carried out by measuring the precision, recall, and  of tag suggestions given by the plugin. The result shows that the plugin can give tag suggestions with precision 0.7638, recall 0.5508, and  0.59.

Abstract

Traumatic brain injury is a pathological process of brain tissue that is not degenerative or congenital, but rather due to external mechanical force, which causes physical disorders, cognitive function, and psychosocial. These disorders can be permanent or temporary and accompanied by the loss of or change in level of consciousness. Segmentation techniques for Computed Tomography Scanner (CT scan) of the brain is one of the methods used by the radiologist to detect abnormalities or brain hemorrhage that occurs in the brain.  This paper discusses the extraction area of a brain hemorrhage on each image slice CT scan and 3D reconstruction, making it possible to visualize the 3D shape and calculating the volume of a brain hemorrhage. Extraction of brain hemorrhage area is based on a combination of Otsu algorithm, the algorithm Morphological features and algorithms region. For the reconstruction of a 3D brain hemorrhage area of the bleeding area on a 2D slice is done by using a linear interpolation approach.

Abstract

This paper presents some improvements on the Perturb and Observe (P&O) method to overcome the common drawbacks of conventional P&O method. The main advantage of this modified algorithm is its simplicity with higher accuracy results, compared to the conventional methods. The operation of the entire solar Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) system was observed through two different approaches, which are through MATLAB/Simulink simulation and hardware implementation. A small scale of hardware design, which consists of solar PV cell, boost converter and Arduino Mega2560 microcontroller had been utilized for further verification on the simulation results. The simulation results that was carried out by this modified P&O algorithm showed improvement and a promising performance: faster convergence speed of 0.67s, small oscillation at steady state region and promising efficiency of 95.23%. Besides, from the hardware results, the convergence time of the power curve was able to maintain at 0.2s and give almost zero oscillation during steady state. It is envisaged that the method is useful in future research of Photovoltaic (PV) system.

Abstract

Due to the motion control system of electromagnetic linear actuator (EMLA) is a nonlinear system with poor controllability, single control strategy has been difficult to meet the requirements of its control. A compound control strategy based on inverse system control (ISC) and proportional-integral (PI) is designed in this paper. Switching between two algorithms, which is based on the fuzzy rules, prevents the control algorithm to jitter and jump. System model is build under Matlab/Simulink to do simulation analysis. The designed controller is integrated into the system simulation model and the system software of digital signal processor (DSP) controller. Simulation and test results show that the compound control strategy using fuzzy switching rules achieves the smooth transition of two control algorithms, and the goal of any position location, and continuous adjustment in 0~4mm lift. Positioning accuracy is up to ± 0.02mm, while the response time is less than 10ms.

Abstract

This paper presents an accurate classification method of harmonic signal in power distribution system by using S-transform (ST).  ST has a capability of representing signals in jointly time-frequency domain and known as time frequency representation (TFR). The spectral parameters are estimated from TFR in order to identify the characteristics and to classify the harmonic signals. The classification of harmonic signals with the utilization of pattern recognition approach which is rule-based classifier of 100 unique signals is according to the IEEE standard 519:2014. The accuracy of the proposed method is determined by using MAPE and the results proved that the method provides high accuracy of harmonic signal classification. Additionally, S-transform also gives 100 percent correct classification of harmonic signals. It is proven that the proposed method is accurate in detecting and classifying harmonic signals in the distribution system.

Abstract

Androgenic hair pattern stated to be the new biometric trait since 2014. The research to improve the performance of androgenic hair pattern recognition system has begun to be developed due to the problems that occurred when other apparent biometric trait such as face is hidden from sight. The recognition system was built with hierarchical Gaussian scale-space using 4 octaves and 3 levels in each octave. The system also implemented the equalization process to adjust image’s intensity by using histogram equalization. We analyzed 400 images of androgenic hair in the database that were analyzed using 2-fold and 10-fold cross validation and Euclidean distance to classify it. The experimental results showed that our proposed method gave better performance compared to previous work that used Haar wavelet transformation and principal component analysis as the main method. The best recognition precision was 94.23 % obtained from the base octave with the third level using histogram equalization and 10-fold cross validation.
