Abstract

To achieve an internet with high availability and reliability, needs two or more data paths so the process for sending data can be faster. Load balancing is often plays a significant role for this technique to properly utilized every gateway in the network. This research, implemented load balancing in software defined network architecture using floodlight controller. Evaluation is done by measuring QoS (delay, bit rate, packet rate, packet success rate) while sending various traffics through the network such as UDP Flow, VoIP, and DNS. Performance of load balancer is work well, because the results after load balancing is better than before. Which is the value of delay after load balancing is decreased about 30-55% compared to before load balancing, also the values of bit rate, packet rate dan packet success rate after load balancing is increased about 10-30% compared to before load balancing.

Abstract

This paper introduces the accurate identification of harmonic sources in the power distribution system using time-frequency distribution (TFD) analysis, which is S-transform. The S-transform is a very applicable method to represent signals parameters in time-frequency representation (TFR) such as TFR impedance (ZTFR) and the main advantages of S-transform it can provide better frequency resolution for low frequency components and also offers better time resolution for high-frequency components. The identification of multiple harmonic sources are based on the significant relationship of spectral impedances (ZS) that extracted from the ZTFR, consist of the fundamental impedance (Z1) and harmonic impedance (Zh). To verify the accuracy of the proposed method, MATLAB simulations carried out several unique cases on IEEE 4-bus test feeder cases. It is proven that the proposed method is superior, with 100% correct identification of harmonic source location. It is proven that the method is accurate, fast and cost-efficient to localize harmonic sources in the power distribution system.

Abstract

In the past decades, there has been a growing interest in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for educational, research, business, and military purposes. The most critical data for a flight system is the telemetry data from the GPS and wireless transmitter and also from the gyroscope and accelerometer.  The objective of this paper is to develop a control system for UAV using long-range wireless communication and GPS. First, Matlab simulation was conducted to obtain an optimum PID gains controller. Then LoRa wireless was evaluated during clear and rainy days. Static and dynamic points measurement was conducted to validate and optimize GPS accuracy. GeoMapping in Matlab and Google GPS GeoPlanner were then used to analyze the traveled UAV flight path.

Abstract

In the last decade, light-emitting diodes (LEDs), which based on spontaneous light emission in semiconductors can be considered as the main light sources for civil and industrial purposes. In this paper, we presented and investigated the effect of the Sr[Mg3SiN4]Eu2+ concentration on the optical properties of the 5600K remote-packaging WLEDs (RP-WLEDs). We use the Mat Lab and the LightTool software to investigate the effect of the Sr[Mg3SiN4]Eu2+ concentration on the CRI, CQS, D-CCT and LO of the 5600K RP-WLEDs. From the result, we can state that the concentration of the Sr[Mg3SiN4]Eu2+ influenced on the CRI, CQS, D-CCT and LO of the RP-WLEDs. The red Sr[Mg3SiN4]Eu2+ phosphor can be considered as the novel recommendation for LEDs industry.

Abstract

This paper reviews the fabrication technologies of silicon nanowire transistors (SiNWTs) and rapidly development in this area, as this paper presents various types of SiNWT structures, development of SiNWT properties and different applications until nowadays.  This research provides a good comparison among fabrication technologies of SiNWTs depending on a new factor DIF, this factor depends on the size of channel and power consumption in channel. As a result of this comparison, the best technology to use in the future to fabricate silicon nano transistors for future ICs is AFM nanolithography.

Abstract

The weakness of the orthogonal freuency division multiplexing (OFDM) system is susceptible to the existence of carrier frequency offset (CFO) which causes the emergence of inter carrier interference (ICI) which causes a degradation of performance OFDM systems. This study aims to apply the suggested rectangular (REC) pulse and improved sinc-power (ISP) pulse shaping methods on OFDM system and determines ICI reduction with the effects of CFO over flat fading Rayleigh channels. The performance of each pulse shaping method is evaluated and compared based on parameter ICI power vs. normalized frequency offset, signal to interference ratio (SIR) vs. normalized frequency offset and bit error rate (BER) vs. energy bit per noise (Eb/No). The simulation result in terms of BER vs. Eb/No indicated that REC and ISP pulse shaping has better performance dealing with ICI reduction compared to OFDM system no applied pulse shaping. In addition, the ISP is able to mitigate ICI better than REC.

Abstract

In this research, we propose and investigate intercept probability analysis in DF time switching relaying full-duplex with impact of Co-channel interference at the eavesdropper. In the beginning stage, we present the DF time switching relaying full-duplex with the Impact of Co-channel interference at the eavesdropper. Furthermore, the closed-form expression of the intercept probability (IP) is analyzed and derived in connection with the primary system parameters. Finally, the Monte Carlo simulation is performed for verifying the correctness of the analytical section. From the research results, a novel solution and some recommendations can be proposed for the communication network in the near future.

Abstract

Transient Stability is the capability of a system to be able to return to its normal state after experiencing large disturbances. The static var compensator (SVC) is a shunt device of the flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS) family using power electronics to improve transient stability in power system. For the SVC control, it is usually used a PI controller, although PI controller is simpler and cheaper but not suitable when power system is subjected to transient stability since power system become non-linear system. In order to overcome this problem, the PI controller combined with Fuzzy controller is designed. Two types of faults were considered for this study to examine the effect of the fuzzy-SVC controller on system transient stability, the proposed fault types are single line to ground fault and three lines to ground fault. The performance and behavior of the designed fuzzy controller compared with that of the conventional PI controller in term of terminal voltage, rotor angle, and transmission line active power.

Abstract

Our lives, nowadays, are digital. We, as humans, are using software applications in all our life aspects to meet our daily objectives and fulfill our needs. Software solutions that comprise mobile apps are widely spread, users can select from hundreds of available software solutions that fit their needs. Accordingly, user needs are becoming intricate and the software organizations are competing high to satisfy user requirements and the desires for better quality. This competition is not about satisfying the functional requirements but also satisfy user experience as well. Accordingly, studying, measuring, and improving user experience is crucial for the success of any software product. This research focuses on evaluating user experience needs by developing user experience needs evaluation method based on three main disciplines the user experience framework, the evaluation theory concept, and the ISOsoftware quality standards ISO/IEC 25022 and ISO/IEC 25023. Although these disciplines are available in the literature, they are not linked together to complete the mosaic picture of developing a UX evaluation method. Linking there three disciplines led to systematically identify the necessary evaluation criteria to evaluate user needs experience.

Abstract

In this paper, we present a novel coplanar waveguide low pass filter (LPF)structure based on the use of square complementary split ring resonators (CSRRs) in order to enhance the performances of a low pass filter. Especially, to enlarge the bandwidth of the LPF, the insertion losses and to increase the rejection of the LPF. The CSRRs are optimised and inserted periodically along the center conductor of the CPW line with a CPW ground integrating stubs permitting to enlarge the bandwidth. The simulation results of this filter show a -3 dB cut-off frequency equal to fc = 5.28 GHz. The designed filter has a good rejection in the stop band which below -20 dB and presents a good insertion loss in the bandwidth. The proposed filter has been fabricated and tested which give a good agreement between simulation and measurement results, the whole dimensions of the validated filter are 35.48x21.16 mm2. The originality of this work is the wide rejection band and the miniature dimensions.
