Abstract

Adopting technology could give competitive advantage and positively impact the hotel’s profitability, thus hotels should keep up with the latest hotel technologies. An important part in the hotel services is the customer service. A problem with the human-to-human customer services today is a long time in answering customers query. On the other hand, nowadays customers need easy and effective services. Thus, a chatbot is required to answer consumers' issues automatically which leads to higher customer satisfaction and a growing profit. Because of the need and there is still an absence of chatbot for hotel industry in Indonesia, this study is conducted. The chatbot for hotel industry in Indonesia, named Bershca, has been successfully developed using artificial intelligence markup language (AIML) to construct the knowledge. Google Flutter is used for the system’s front-end, while Python is used for the back-end of the system. As a text-preprocessing method, Nazief-Adriani Algorithm is implemented in the system’s back-end. The system is evaluated using technology acceptance model (TAM). As a result, 85.7% of the respondents believe that using chatbot would enhance their job performance and 84.33% of the respondents believe that using the technology would be free of effort.

Abstract

Wind energy is one of the renewable energies that can be using to generate electricity. Increasing demand for this type of renewable energy for sustainability and accessibility. Environmentally as it does not cause any pollution in addition to the abundance of required equipment and lessmaintenance and long operation life of its parts despite the high cost of the system at its installation but at long term, become cheaper. Wind power generators depend on their operation on wind speed and direction. Therefore,it should be installing in places where the wind speed is adequate and sufficient to rotate its rotor, it knows that wind speed is variable in its speed and direction they change every hour and every season. In this design, many practical and theoretical (simulation) experiments have been done which will be mentioned and explained in details in this research shows that this mechanism raises the efficiency of wind power generators by 80% when the rotor of the wind turbine directed towards the wind than if they were fixed direction.

Abstract

Mobile video streaming is one of multimedia services that has developed very rapidly. Recently, bandwidth utilization for wireless transmission is the main problem in the field of multimedia communications. In this research, we offer a combination of scalable methods as the most attractive solution to this problem. Scalable method for wireless communication should adapt to input video sequence. Standard ITU (International Telecommunication Union) - Joint Scalable Video Model (JSVM) is employed to produce combined scalable video coding (CSVC) method that match the required quality of video streaming services for wireless transmission. The investigation in this paper shows that combined scalable technique outperforms the non-scalable one, in using bit rate capacity at certain layer.

Abstract

This paper presents E-Learning (E-L) to support the Programs of Education and Training (E&T), Research and Development (R&D) for improvement quality of the Indonesian Human Resources (IQIHR). The programs of the IQIHR must be related with the modern Art, Science, Engineering and Technology (ASET). The prosperity of the Human Resources will be approached from prosperity approach which is mainly emphasized with three universes of aspects: Physical, Intellectual, Emotional and Spiritual (PIES) aspects. There are three basic requirements for developing these aspects: Material, Energy and Information (MEI). Social welfare and increase of life quality are desired output that must be attained from the MEI aspects. Current standard of living of human being should be reported as feedback information in the programs of the IQIHR. In global communication, developed countries and developing countries should build several attractive and sound symbiosis bridges, to prevent loss of universe balances. High quality of human resources as products of IQIHR activities, have social impacts not only in developed countries but also in developing countries. A new work force strategy without denying the existing of high quality of human resources is established by retooling the work forces, thus the challenges of social impacts could be answered wisely and would be bright opportunities to improve human standards of living.

Abstract

Communication is one of essential elements in this life, including the people who live at rural areas. However, telecommunications in rural area especially in Indonesia have many constraints like expensive infrastructure, difficult terrain and electrical problem. This led to a lot of areas that uncovered by telecommunication access. In this paper, we proposed a design and architecture of mobile wireless communication based on modified openWRT as a solution for low-cost communication and telephony infrastructure in rural areas. The design combines VoIP over mesh ad-hoc network as a potential solution for cheap calls and use modified embedded device to save electrical resources as a node to connect each other with multi hop transmissions. With this approach, we get many advantages such as high mobility, easy to use, scalable, low-cost implementation, and low power consumption. This paper presents the measurement result of performance to provide access telecommunication in several conditions. In addition, this paper also shows benchmarking results and lifetime of the node that we use in this prototype. The results show that our node can provide telecommunications access in terms of making calls with good quality using wireless LAN. To sum this up, The OpenVoice node is expected to contribute bridging digital divide in rural areas.

Abstract

An image fusion method that performs robustly for image sets heavily corrupted by noise is presented in this paper. The approach combines the advantages of two state-of-the-art fusion techniques, namely Independent Component Analysis (ICA) and Chebyshev Poly-nomial Analysis (CPA) fusion. Fusion using ICA performs well in transferring the salient features of the input images into the composite output, but its performance deteriorates severely under mild to moderate noise conditions. CPA fusion is robust under severe noise conditions, but eliminates the high frequency information of the images involved. We pro-pose to use ICA fusion within high activity image areas, identified by edges and strong textured surfaces and CPA fusion in low activity areas identified by uniform background regions and weak texture. A binary image map is used for selecting the appropriate method, which is constructed by a standard edge detector followed by morphological operators. The results of the proposed approach are very encouraging as far as joint fusion and denoising is concerned. The works presented may prove beneficial for future image fusion tasks in real world applications such as surveillance, where noise is heavily present.

Abstract

AML is one type of cancer of the blood and spinal cord. AML has a number of subtypes including M0 and M1. Both subtypes are distinguished by the dominant blast cell type in the WBC, the myeloblast cells, promyelocyte, and myelocyte. This makes the diagnosis process of leukemia subtype requires identification of blast cells in WBC. Automatic blast cell identification is widely developed but is constrained by the lack of data availability, and uneven distribution for each type of blast cell, resulting in problems of data imbalance. This makes the system developed has poor performance. This study aims to classify blast cell types in WBC identified AML-M0 and AML-M1. The method used is divided into two stages, first pre-processing, image segmentation and feature extraction. The second stage, perform resample, which is continued over sampling with SMOTE. The process is done until the amount of data obtained is relatively the same for each blast cell, then the process of elimination of data duplication, randomize, classification and performance measurement. The validation method used is k-fold cross-validation with k=10. Performance parameters used are sensitivity, specifyicity, accuracy, and AUC. The average performance resulting from classification of cell types in AML with Random Forest algorithm obtained 82.9% sensitivity, 92.1% specificity, 89.6% accuracy and 87.5% AUC. These results indicate a significant improvement compared to the system model without using SMOTE. The performance generated by reference to the AUC value, the proposed system model belongs to either category, so it can be used for further stages of leukemia subtype AML-M0 and AML-M1.

Abstract

The color image segmentation is one of most crucial application in image processing. It can apply to medical image segmentation for a brain tumor and skin cancer detection or color object detection on CCTV traffic video image segmentation and also for face recognition, fingerprint recognition etc. The color image segmentation has faced the problem of multidimensionality. The color image is considered in five-dimensional problems, three dimensions in color (RGB) and two dimensions in geometry (luminosity layer and chromaticity layer). In this paper the, L*a*b color space conversion has been used to reduce the one dimensional and geometrically it converts in the array hence the further one dimension has been reduced. The a*b space is clustered using genetic algorithm process, which minimizes the overall distance of the cluster, which is randomly placed at the start of the segmentation process. The segmentation results of this method give clear segments based on the different color and it can be applied to any application.
