Abstract

One of the main problems in video transmission is the bandwidth fluctuation in wireless channel. Therefore, there is an urgent need to find an efficient bandwidth utilization and method. This research utilizes the Combined Scalable Video Coding (CSVC) which comes from Joint Scalable Video Model (JSVM). In the combined scalable video coding, we implement Coarse Grain Scalability (CGS) and Medium Grain Scalability (MGS). We propose a new scheme in which it can be implemented on Network Simulator II (NS-2) over wireless broadband network. The advantages of this new scheme over the other schemes are more realistic and based on open source program. The result shows that CSVC implementation on MGS mode outperforms CGS mode.

Abstract

Mobile video streaming is one of multimedia services that has developed very rapidly. Recently, bandwidth utilization for wireless transmission is the main problem in the field of multimedia communications. In this research, we offer a combination of scalable methods as the most attractive solution to this problem. Scalable method for wireless communication should adapt to input video sequence. Standard ITU (International Telecommunication Union) - Joint Scalable Video Model (JSVM) is employed to produce combined scalable video coding (CSVC) method that match the required quality of video streaming services for wireless transmission. The investigation in this paper shows that combined scalable technique outperforms the non-scalable one, in using bit rate capacity at certain layer.

Abstract

Landslides in many regions constitute serious hazards that cause substantial life and financial losses. To overcome and reduce the damages, efforts to monitor landslides are developed. One such technology utilizes a wireless sensor network (WSN). Results obtained from studies conducted in the Ikanfoti village, Kupang District, Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) Province (S 10o16’ 21.9” and E 123o40’59.8”) as pilot project, give result that the application of WSN can be applied properly. We detect and measure vibrations caused by landslides by vibration sensor (accelerometer) on Micaz devices. The results of this study indicate that changes in accelerometer values ranging from 0.2 g (gravity) to 0.49 g of either the X or Y of accelerometer indicate that soil begins to move but not significantly. Value above 0.5 g is a value that indicating a significant change of ground motion. The value of 1 g and above of ground motion indicates a very strong activity and should be alarmed. It is expected that this research provides the foundation for the application of WSN in various areas in NTT Province and Indonesia in general, for establishing thorough and reliable early warning system (EWS).

Abstract

Development of wireless network technology to support various types of information services continues to increase especially in video streaming services. Video transmission especially in Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) environment used in this research, particularly in the Combined Scalable Video Coding (CSVC) scheme which is a development of H.264 / MPEG-4. The contribution of this research focuses on the analysis of the performance of AODV, DSDV and DSR routing protocols in the MANET environment for CSVC, which is a new scheme in the development of H.264 / MPEG-4  video schemes. Performance evaluation are measured using the NS-2 simulation that supports MANET environment. As test metrics in this study are the end-to- end delay and PSNR. The test result shows the end-to-end delay in AODV is 0.60 seconds; this is lower than results on DSDV and DSR. On PSNR, DSR simulation results show 16.2 dB. This result exceed those in AODV and DSDV. The results of this research evaluation are influenced by channels in wireless networks, the larger the wireless network channel the more streaming video frames can be accepted by the destination node.

Abstract

In a telecommunications system, a radio propagation model is needed to do a design, construction, and development of mobile communication systems. Propagation models commonly used are the Okumura-Hatta model and the COST model 231. These models are used to determine an accurate propagation model in a particular area. This study aims to obtain a propagation model on the environmental conditions of dry-land such as the University of Nusa Cendana areas by using Okumura-Hata path loss modeling and COST-231. In this study, the acceptance test drive was carried out at frequencies of 900 Mhz, 1800 Mhz and 1900 MHz using the G-NetTrack application on Telkomsel BTS in the University of Nusa Cendana area with Latitude coordinates -10.156738 and Longitude 123.668422 as well as observing frequencies using Spectrum Analyzer to be used as primary data. The next step is to calculate the received power data as secondary data using the Okumura-Hata path loss calculation and COST-231. Based on primary and secondary data an analysis of which propagation model matches the measurements in the field is carried out. From the propagation analysis, it can be concluded that the propagation model that suits the conditions on the campus area is the Okumura-Hatta model.

Abstract

The availability of telecommunication infrastructure and services has not been evenly distributed throughout the NTT region. This problem becomes the basis of this research to develop a communication system that capable of reaching areas without a telecommunications network. Through the LORA gateway on the raspberry pi, information from areas that are not covered by telecommunications services is sent to another gateway using a working frequency of 915MHz. The plant in this study is the regulation of soil moisture with the input of 2 sensors and 1 relay for controlling land irrigation activities. An esp8266 sensor node collects the sensing results of the YL-69 and DS18B20 sensors to control the pump motor operation. The process of sending data between the sensor node and the gateway uses the mqtt protocol. Users in areas served by the internet network can access all published data on the test website. The results of controlling the plant area in the test area fluctuated and tended to be stable at between 60% and 80%.

Abstract

Status gizi adalah suatu keadaan yang diakibatkan oleh status keseimbangan antara antara jumlah asupan gizi dan jumlah yang dibutuhkan oleh tubuh untuk berbagai fungsi biologis seperti pertumbuhan fisik, perkembangan, aktivitas, pemeliharan kesehatan, dan lainnya. Agar memudahkan ibu hamil memantau status gizi dan pola konsumsi maka perlu adanya suatu sistem yang dapat memudahkan ibu hamil untuk menggunakan maka sistem dibuat pada smartphone android. Hasil uji program dilakukan selama 20 pengujian untuk status gizi, dimana pengujian tersebut menggunakan metode logika fuzzy, sembilan belas diantaranya sesuai dengan perhitungan rumus Indeks Massa Tubuh dengan nilai validasi = 95%. Hasil uji program dilakukan selama 15 pengujian untuk pola konsumsi, dimana pengujian tersebut menggunakan metode logika fuzzy, 8 diantaranya sesuai dengan perhitungan rumus Angka Kecukupan Gizi Individu dengan nilai validasi = 53%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa system dapat digunakan untuk perhitungan status gizi, sedangkan untuk perhitungan pola konsumsi ibu hamil sistem belum layak digunakan.

Abstract

The needs of efficient bandwidth utilization and method to handle bandwidth fluctuation condition of wireless channel have become fundamental problems in video transmission. This research proposed Combined Scalable Video Coding (CSVC) that refers to Joint Scalable Video Model (JSVM), i.e. development of video coding H.264/AVC by exploiting scalable combination method using Medium Grain Scalability (MGS) on wireless channel of MIMO-OFDM (Multiple Input Multiple Output – Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) technology. The research shows that the scalable combination method can be implemented on the scenario for wireless transmission on multicast network. Experimental results show that the delivered quality is close to the alternative traditional simulcast delivery mechanism in MIMO-OFDM systems.

Abstract

This works takes samples and case studies in the Amarasi area, Kec. TTS, Prov. NTT; because there is still little literature and research conducted in rural areas, especially in the dry land of Semi-arid areas. Therefore, this study analyzes the measurement of the performance of the 4G LTE network, both voice and data communication, carried out in two different conditions, namely outdoor and indoor based on four parameters, namely RSRP, RSRQ, SNR and Throughput. The percentage of the RSRQ category is very good 32%, and bad 1%. The percentage of SNR category is very good 19%, and bad 1%. The average for throughput is 15.81 Mbps download and 18.41 Mbps upload which is good for Kotabes, Tunbaun and Nonbes villages. The measurement results in indoor conditions, the percentage of the RSRP category is very good 4%, and bad 24%. The percentage of SNR category is very good 23%, and bad 1%. The average throughput is 8.79 Mbps download and 11.57 Mbps upload; namely in the villages of Teunbaun, Tunbaun and Aprein. The results of the analysis show that the 4G LTE network has good and promising performance.

Abstract

Lahan pertanian dan sayuran sebagai penopang pencaharian dan gizi tambahan bagi sebagian masyarakat di Kelurahan Naibonat pada Kecamatan Kupang Timur, Kabupaten Kupang sangat bergantung pada ketersediaan air. Terutama kelompok tani ASTI 50 di Manusak dengan luas lahan 21 hektare. Sebagian besar lingkungan tanahnya diperuntukkan persawahan selama musim hujan dan kondisi berikutnya digunakan untuk tanaman umur pendek, diantaranya; jagung, sayur-sayuran, tomat, lombok dan lainnya. Usaha ini memanfaatkan ketersediaan air di musim hujan selama bulan Nopember sampai dengan Maret untuk persawahan dan pada bulan selanjutnya di manfaatkan ketersediaan air tanah(sumur) dengan kedalaman rerata ±15m sampai ±30m untuk pengairan komoditas tanaman umur pendek. Kondisi ini menjadi siklus dan kendala utama produktivitas komoditas bagi masyarakat tani ASTI 50 manusak di Kelurahan Naibonat. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini digunakan mesin pompa air berbahan bakar bensin dan pipa pendistribusian air dengan total jangkauan 100 meter. Mesin pompa air bertujuan menaik air dari kedalam ±17-meter dan menyalurkan ke bak penampung sejauh 12 m dengan ketinggian 1,5 meter. Tinggi bak penampung memanfaatkan gravitasi untuk pendistribusian air ke lahan sebagai uji coba seluas 20 are untuk tanaman sawit dan jagung bonanza f1. Hasil yang diperoleh dengan bantuan peralatan pompa dan pipa-selang air, mampu terciptanya sistem irigasi serta distribusi air ke lahan(tanaman) dengan sifat portabel. Sebagai uji coba sistem ini dengan tanaman sayuran sawi dan jagung manis bonanza F1 dapat dipanen dengan hasil yang baik untuk dikonsumsi dan dipasarkan sebagai nilai tambahan usaha tani ASTI 50.
