Abstract

Human visual perception on color of melon fruit for ripeness judgement is a complex phenomenon that depends on many factors, making the judgement is often inaccurate and inconsistent. The objective of this study is to develop an image processing algorithm that can be used for distinguishing ripe melons from unripe ones based on their skin color. The image processing algorithm could then be used as a pre-harvest tool to facilitate farmers with enough information for making decisions about whether or not the melon is ready to harvest. Four sample groups of Golden Apollo melon were harvested at four different age, with 55 fruits in each group. Using the color distribution as results of the image analysis, the first two groups of the samples can be separated from other groups with minimal overlap, but they cannot be separated in the other two groups. The color image analysis of the melons in combination with discriminant analysis could be used to distiguish between harvesting age groups with an average accuracy of 86%.

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to investigate deeply in multi-layer substrate technique as a way of improving the characteristics of patch array antenna for electronic scanning radar application. The basic array antenna consists of 8 patches mounted on a FR-4 substrate and operating at 3GHz frequency. The feeding technique is microstrip technology. This structure has some disadvantages as a poor gain and a narrow bandwidth. In fact, the obtained gain value does not exceed 7 dB which could be explained by the lossy nature of the FR4 substrate. On the other side, the narrow bandwidth is caused by the microstrip limitations. For this reason, the technique of multi-layer substrate is proposed in this paper. Many approaches are investigated and the distance between the layers is studied. The design and simulations of each approach are performed under the tool Advanced Design System of Keysight Company. A comparison between simulation results of all approaches including simulation results of the basic array antenna will be analyzed.

Abstract

The Electro-hydraulic actuator (EHA) systems known to be extremely nonlinear due to its dynamic characteristics and these existing nonlinearities and uncertainties yield to the constraint in the control of EHA system, which influences the position tracking accuracy and affect the occurrences of leakage and friction in the system. The purpose of this work is to develop the mathematical model for the industrial electrohydraulic actuator, then to design a controller by proportional-integral-derivative (PID) and optimize the parameters using Particle Swarm Optimization - Gravitational Search Algorithm (PSOGSA). A few controllers such as conventional PID (CPID) and model reference adaptive control (MRAC) designed for comparison. The performance of PID, PID-PSOGSA and modern controller MRAC will be compared in order to determine the most efficient controller. Despite all controllers are capable to provide good performance, PID-PSOGSA control methods generate good response compared to PID and MRAC in term of positioning.

Abstract

Research and development on power converters are getting more interesting in recent years. It is also buttressed by rapid development in related fields, such as power semiconductor, digital advanced control, magnetic material and use of power converters in many sectors.  In addition to the power quality matter, simplicity of inverter circuits is another notable aspect that should be considered toward economical feature. Adding the quantity of power switches will increase complexity of overall inverter circuits. This paper discusses a circuit configuration of three-level modified sine wave neutral point shorted power inverter which work converting dc power into ac power with less number of power switches. To improve the performance and feature of inverter circuits, the inverter was equipped with online temperature monitoring, and overheat protection based on internet of things. Adding online temperature monitoring system makes easier in monitoring of circuits to prevent the excessive faults of inverter. Some computer based test data are shown and discussed. Furthermore, experiment results of the inverter prototype, and its online monitoring system are presented. Test outputs demonstrated that the proposed system worked properly generating a three-level modified sine wave voltage, with online temperature monitoring system.

Abstract

IT systems and data that you store, and process are valuable resources that need protection. Validation and reliability of information are essential in networks and computer systems. The communicating is done by two parties via an unsafe channel require a way to validate the data spent by one party as valid (or unaltered) by the other party. In our study, we suggest new one-way defragmentation algorithm to implement message authentication and integration in program execution. These software applications are readily available and freely available because most of the hash functions are faster than their existing radioactive blocks.

Abstract

Attitude determination system (ADS) was indispensable in attitude control of satellite. Especially for InnoSAT due to the limitation of budget, weight, and power, the attitude was determined using onboard position sensors. Previous research has successfully implemented the attitude determination using only Earth's magnetic field sensors for small attitude angle, but the approach produced quite big error for large attitude angle. This paper presents attitude determination for InnoSAT using combination of sun sensors and earth's magnetic field for large attitude angle. The attitude was determined using a deterministic (QUEST) and recursive (EKF) approach. A problem arises when using the sun sensors while the satellite experiencing eclipse. Consequently, the accuracy of both approaches was analyzed at eclipse and no eclipse conditions. The result shows that deterministic approach produced better accuracy at no eclipse but recursive approach produced better accuracy at eclipse. The strategy to apply the both approaches and eclipse conditions also discussed in this paper.

Abstract

One of information security management elements is information security awareness program. Usually, this programs only involve the employees within the organization. Some organizations also consider security awareness for some parties outside the organization like providers, vendors, and contractors. This paper add consumers as variable to be considered in information security awareness program as there are also some threats for organization through them. Information security awareness will be measured from user’s knowledge, behavior, and attitude of five information security focus areas in telecommunication, especially related with smartphone users as one segment of telecommunication provider. For smartphone users, information security threats not only from Internet, but also by phone call or texting. Therefore, focus area in this research consist of adhere to security policy, protect personal data, fraud/spam SMS, mobile application, and report for security incident. This research use analytic hierarcy process (AHP) method to measure the information security awareness level from smartphone users. In total, the result indicated that awareness level is good (80%). Although knowledge and attitude dimension are in good criteria of awareness level, but behaviour dimension is average. It can be a reason why there are still many information security breach against smartphone user despite good awareness level.

Abstract

Due to timing inconsistency, dual protection configuration and uncertainty diagnosis result characteristics of 750kV substation, fault diagnosis method of substation with redundant protection configuration which based on time sequence fuzzy Petri nets is proposed. In this method, redundant knowledge about fault component is represented by using two sets of protected information. On that basis, component redundant diagnosis-model based on time sequence fuzzy Petri net is constructed, which can be decomposed into main and redundant subnet-model. In this model, initial-information credibility is determined using information-entropy, timing constraint is checked, and initial-information credibility is corrected using the relationship between acted protection and breaker. Compared with fuzzy Petri net diagnosis method take no account of timing constraint, this method can not only identify the malfunction information, but also obtain a certain result.
