Abstract

Indonesian National Electricity Company (PT PLN) as the main electric power provider in Lhokseumawe City. In fulfilling the need of electricity supply for the whole requirement, which upscale gradually. The proper forecasting method need to be premeditated. The area that was grouped based on the total of power consists of the four sub districts, namely Banda Sakti, Blang Mangat, Muara Dua and Muara Satu. In this study the fuzzy clustering mean (FCM) Classification was applied in determining the power demand of each area and categorized into a cluster respectively. The data clustering divided into six variable and five classifications of power of customer. Based on clustering step that applied revealed for four different classification of power requirement for future demand, the house hold electricity consumption measured for current consumption 9.588.466 Kw/H and forecast 10.037.248 Kw/H, for Business cluster classification measured 10.107.845 Kw/H and forecast 10.566.854 Kw/H, for industry the power measured 9.195.027 Kw/H and the forecasting revealed 9.638.804 Kw/H, and the last analysis was applied in general cluster classification based on measurement was recorded 9.729.048 Kw/H and forecasted result 10.198.282 Kw/H. this method has shown the better result in term of forecasting method by employing the cluster system in determining future power consumption requirement for the area of Lhokseumawe District.

Abstract

Power quality (PQ) analysis has become imperative for utilities as well as for consumers due to huge cost burden of poor power quality. Accurate recognition of PQ disturbances is still a challenging task, whereas methods for its indexing are not much investigated yet. This paper expounds a system, which includes generation of unique patterns called signatures of various PQ disturbances using continuous wavelet transform (CWT) and recognition of these signatures using feed-forward neural network. It is also corroborated that the size of signatures of PQ disturbances are proportional to its magnitude, so this feature of the signature is used for indexing the level of PQ disturbance in three sub-classes’ viz. high, medium, and low. Further, the effect of number of neurons used by neural network on the performance of recognition is also analyzed. Almost 100% accuracy of recognition substantiates the effectiveness of the proposed system.

Abstract

It is the general character of most engineering systems that failure statistical correlation of elements exists in the fatigue happened process due to the twin loads.Based on randomized Basquin equation, the constitutive relations are established between element life and random variable including twin loads, initial strength, fatigue strength exponent.Product-moment correlation coefficients are derived and used to quantify the dependence of logarithm life of elements.Aim at fatigue life correlation of elements in structural systems, the computation model of the system reliability is preliminarily established by means of using copula function. The new model can express the dependence of elements fatigue life in structural systems, can be used probability prediction of structural systems under common stochastic cyclic load, which gives a new path for reliability-based design and probability assesment in equipment systems with multi-mode damage coupling.

Abstract

This paper represents the Gravitational Search Algorithm (GSA) that can be used to determine the optimal location and rating of Thyristor controlled Series Capacitor (TCSC). TCSC is equipment used to regulate and improve power flow in power system. The method used in this study was GSA. TCSC were the implemented on 500kV Java-Bali Power System. Loadflow results before optimization using Newton Rapshon method showed that active power loss was 297.607MW. While loadflow results after optimization using GSA with 5-TCSC obtained were 287.926MW of active power loss, with 10-TCSC, it was obtained 281.143MW of active power loss. In addition, using 15-TCSC, active power loss obtained was 279.405MW. GSA methods can be used to minimize power losses and transmission lines as well as to improve value of voltage in the range of 0.95+ 1.05pu compared with loadflow results before optimization. The more TCSC is used, then value of active power losses small.

Abstract

This paper proposes a combination technique that called hybrid algorithm to be applied into automated scoring for essay e-learning system. This algorithm consists of two main processes: synonym comparison based on WordNet-based semantic similarity measurement and scoring process based on ontology structure. The process for searching a synonym will produce some outputs on different levels. This difference will stimulate a difference calculation of score due to every level reflects to a different similarity of degree. The matching process from input with key answer will generate an accurate matching process. In addition it also added with investigation of ontology class relationship. A different relationship will cause a different score. The last step is integrating this hybrid algorithm and ontology concept into Moodle e-learning system. The evaluation process will evaluate whether the hybrid algorithm can run very well inside ontology system that has been built. Besides that, it is expected that the integration process of hybrid algorithm into Moodle system can support the performance of Moodle e-learning system from essay auto grading perspective.

Abstract

This paper presents a current ripple analysis of new double-stator AC drive system. At first, a new double-stator AC drive system is proposed. The aim is to combine the benefits both the multilevel and multiphase system to provide the better performance to drive AC motor. The input and output current ripples of the proposed AC drive system are then analyzed. The current ripples of the proposed AC drive system are then compared to the ones of conventional double-stator AC drive system. Under the same DC input voltage, it is shown that the proposed results in less output current ripple. Under the same output voltage, the proposed AC drive system results in smaller input current and, therefore, fewer losses on the DC power supply. Experimental results are included to show the validity of the proposed concept.

Abstract

The propositionalμ-calculus can be divided into two categories, global model checking algorithm and local model checking algorithm. Both of them aim at reducing time complexity and space complexity effectively. This paper analyzes the computing process of alternating fixpoint nested in detail and designs an efficient local model checking algorithm based on the propositional μ-calculus by a group of partial ordered relation, and its time complexity is O(d2(dn)d/2+2) (d is the depth of fixpoint nesting,  is the maximum of number of nodes), space complexity is O(d(dn)d/2). As far as we know, up till now, the best local model checking algorithm whose index of time complexity is d. In this paper, the index for time complexity of this algorithm is reduced from d to d/2. It is more efficient than algorithms of previous research.

Abstract

One of the effects of the disorders of nervus VII (n. Facialis) is the damage of facial muscle. The research is needed in order to detect or as the therapies aids on the damage of the VII nerve by measuring the strength of maximum contraction, to help a therapy or detect the damage which caused by the decreasing of the VII nerve function. These measurement is taken from the difference on myofibrin when the contractions, because when the contraction happen, the myofibrin will distend and the difference can be detected as the strength of contraction. From the result of the comparison, EMG with the test result is the shift muscle movement amount of 1.367 up to 4.460. The mean value of rest muscle is in the range of 0.635 with interval at+0.463, on the move muscles the mean value of the muscle moving is in the range of 3,563 with interval at+1,069. This test is linear with the data EMG.

Abstract

This paper elucidates simulation of single phase 3-level z-source neutral point clamped (NPC) inverter with PV system. single phase NPC inverter employed due to its advantages like less voltage stress, reduced harmonic content, minimsed CMV and voltage stress is low. Z-source network is engaged to boost input voltage getting from the photovoltaic system, which is manoeuvre in shoot through and non-shoot through conditions. This proposed scheme utilized to enhance the output voltage, minimise THD and the leakage current can be avoided with help of split inductor connected with output of inverter system. sinusiodal pulse width modulation (SPWM) used as control technique for the proposed 3-level z-source NPC inverter. The simulation results of this scheme has been verified using matlab/simulink.
