Abstract

Logo counseling is a counseling model specifically to treat low spiritual self-esteem problem affecting the life and attitudes of college students. Nevertheless, the problem relies on distance, time, and psychological burdens which preventing face-to-face logo counseling. By reviewing past research regarding online counseling practices, the innovative model for online logo counseling was designed and then demonstrated via logo counseling website. There are four objectives and thirty-five specifications defined in the model. The result showed that logo counseling website is helpful and easy to understand. Further research needed to address the issue of security and confidentiality, furthermore future research needed to examine the integration of text-mining and multimedia analysis techniques to better helping counselors in online counseling intervention.

Abstract

Type of lung disease is very much manifold, but type of lung disease caused by smoking there are only 4, namely Bronchitis, Pneumonia, Emphysema and Lung Cancer. Doctors usually diagnose lung disease from CT scans using the naked eye, then interpret data one by one.This procedure is not effective. The aim of this research is improvement accuracy of lung diseases detection caused by smoking using support vector machine on computed tomography scan (CT scan) images. This study includes 4 (four) main points. First is the development of software for segmentation of lung organ automatically using Active Shape Model (ASM) method. Second is the segmentation of candidates who are considered illness by using Morphology Mathematics. The third process of lung disease detection using Support Vector Machine (SVM). Fourth is visualization of disease or lung disorder using Volume Rendering.

Abstract

Internet of Things (IoT) is technology which provides communication between machines without human intervention. There are many applications that implement IoT technology e.g. smart power, smart home, transportation management, and smart city. This paper proposes the usage of IoT to develop electronic key that can help to improve the security in apartment. Electronic key uses Android smart phone to access and control the door. Electronic key uses Raspberry pii, motor DC, webcam, microswitch, and Arduino GSM. Raspberry is used to get command from server and instruct the Arduino GSM to open or close the door and webcam is used to take picture from the environment for documentation. This research uses three steps to verify the user who want to open or close the door i.e. using username and password, bluetooth, and QR code scanner.

Abstract

A quick response code-based authentication method (QRAM) is proposed. QRAM is applicable for lots of internet of things (IoT) applications. QRAM aims to verify requests of such an access to IoT applications. Requests are made using a quick response code (QRC). To authenticate contents of QRC, users will scan QRC to access IoT applications. To authenticate contents of QRC, three procedures are applied. QRAM contributes to IoT automatic access systems or smart applications in terms of authentication and safety of access. QRAM is evaluated in term of security factors (e.g., authentication). Computation time of authentication procedures for several IoT applications has become a considerable issue. QRAM aims to reduce computation time consumed to authenticate each QRC. Some authentication techniques still face difficulties when an IoT application requires fast response to users; therefore, QRAM aims to enhance so to meet real-time applications. Thus, QRAM is compared to several competitive methods used to verify QRC in term of computation time. Results confirmed that QRAM is faster than other competitive techniques. Besides, results have shown a high level of complexity in term of decryption time needed to deduce private contents of QRC. QRAM also is robust against unauthorized requests of access.

Abstract

The dielectric properties of low-density polyethylene natural rubber (LDPE-NR) biopolymeric insulating materials can be improved by adding the silica nanoparticles in a certain percentage of weight (w%). In the present study, four types of bio-nano polymeric samples were prepared. To each sample, the nanosilica particles with wt% 1.5%, 3%, 4.5% and 6%. As one characteristic of dielectric, the partial discharge (PD) characteristics, each sample has been tested for 1 hour under AC high voltage field, and the pulses were counted for each sample and grouped into positive and negative pulses. The PD pattern was also plotted based on X-Y axes, namely Φ-q-n pattern. It was found that the number of positive and negative partial discharge (PD) pulses for each silica sample after 60 minutes of testing varied for all samples. It is also found that samples with a higher percentage of nanosilica had fewer PD pulses. The PD pattern in lower w% of silica was identified in the 90 degrees mostly in containing This indicates that w% of nanosilica particles can improve the PD resistance or the insulation quality of LDPE-NR insulation materials.

Abstract

An improved segmentation Fuzzy C-Means algorithm (FCM) is proposed for the image recognition of transmission line insulators. In this paper, the improved Wiener filter algorithm is firstly used to filtrate and recover image in pre-processing. Then, the insulator image is segmented based on the improved algorithm FCM. Finally, the contour of insulator is labelled by using connected component labelling algorithm. Experimental results have shown that the improved Wiener filtering algorithm may effectively filter and recover the images; furthermore, the improved FCM image segmentation algorithm may accurately segment insulators from the image.

Abstract

This paper describes the design and implementation of H-infinity controller applied to the AR.Drone to follow a given trajectory. The trajectory will be achieved by using two control signals, pitch and roll. Pitch and roll of the AR.Drone models are obtained by assuming that the transfer function of internal control for pitch and roll is the second order system. Two schemes of H-infinity controller designed for pitch and roll. H-infinity control for x-position has exogenous input of the x-reference, xref, control input of pitch value, exogenous output in the form of x-position and process output as error x. While H-infinity control for y-position has exogenous input of y-reference, yref, control input in the form of roll value, exogenous output of y-position and process output as error y. The results of simulation and implementation show that drone can follow multiple references of trajectories given.

Abstract

Laplacian smoothing transform uses the negative diagonal element to generate the new space. The negative diagonal elements will deliver the negative new spaces. The negative new spaces will cause decreasing of the dominant characteristics. Laplacian smoothing transform usually singular matrix, such that the matrix cannot be solved to obtain the ordered-eigenvalues and corresponding eigenvectors. In this research, we propose a modeling to generate the positive diagonal elements to obtain the positive new spaces. The secondly, we propose approach to overcome singularity matrix to found eigenvalues and eigenvectors. Firstly, the method is started to calculate contradictory of the laplacian smoothing matrix. Secondly, we calculate the new space modeling on the contradictory of the laplacian smoothing. Moreover, we calculate eigenvectors of the discriminant analysis. Fourth, we calculate the new space modeling on the discriminant analysis, select and merge features. The proposed method has been tested by using four databases, i.e. ORL, YALE, UoB, and local database (CAI-UTM). Overall, the results indicate that the proposed method can overcome two problems and deliver higher accuracy than similar methods.

Abstract

Partial observability in EKF based mobile robot navigation is investigated in this paper to find a solution that can prevent erroneous estimation. By only considering certain landmarks in an environment, the computational cost in mobile robot can be reduced but with an increase of uncertainties to the system. This is known as suboptimal condition of the system. Fuzzy Logic technique is proposed to ensure that the estimation achieved desired performance even though some of the landmarks were excluded for references. The Fuzzy Logic is applied to the measurement innovation of Kalman Filter to correct the positions of both mobile robot and any observed landmarks during observations. The simulation results shown that the proposed method is capable to secure reliable estimation results even a number of landmarks being excluded from Kalman Filter update process in both Gaussian and non-Gaussian noise conditions.

Abstract

The emerge of the Internet of Things (IoT) data as a commodity to optimize public services such as Fishing Locator has made sensor-cloud an important object. When sensors that are members of multiple IoT gateways can inter-operate at the same time for more than one application, it will reduce cost to deploy IoT infrastructure. However, reliability has also developed as the most important aspect for real-time data collection that should be streamed constantly. Due to uncertainty factors sensors failure is potentially occurred, then an adaptive approach should be addressed into this as to guarantee the flow of streaming data. This paper proposed an adaptive sensor-cloud mechanism to manage the reliability by using a runtime model approach where a transition model and dynamic software product line engineering will take place to weaving the system. Our technique is comparable to other approaches and can be implemented in many types of Cloud-based services.
