Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of the study was to explore the influence of future orientation training on student’s future orientation improvement and relationship between future orientation and expectation for learning success. This study involved 37 of tenth grade students in one of private Senior High School in Semarang. The research used quantitative method with experiment approach and one group pre- test post-test design to test find out the difference between students’ future orientation before and after training and explore the correlation between students’ future orientation and expectation for student learning success.Result showed that there was a significant difference of future orientation before and after training, (Z = -5,304). Correlation analysis between future orientation and expectation for student’s learning success showed that there was relationship between future orientation and expectation for student’s learning success, with correlation r = 0.477.implication of these results for the study of future orientation and expectation for student’s learning success are exlpored.Keywords: future orientation, learning success expectation, training

Abstract

AbstractPatients with essential hypertension are susceptible to psychological problems such as stress. The purpose of this study is to find out the effectiveness of relaxation therapy in reducing stress among patients with essential hypertension. There were five participants who were patients with essential hypertension in moderate and high level of stress. The study used the adapted Depression Anxiety Stress Scales. The experimental design used the ABA small N experimental design. A therapy was given individually in seven sessions for four weeks. The quantitative analysis was done by using visual inspection to reveal the dynamic of stress scores among patients with essential hypertension. The qualitative analysis was done by analyzing the results of the interview, observation, and participant development book. The result of the study indicates that relaxation therapy can reduce stress among patients with essential hypertension.Keywords: essential hypertension, relaxation, stress, .

Abstract

AbstractHepatitis A is a disease caused by a virus of hepatitis A. College students is a group have highest risk exposed this disease. The objective of this research is to know whether the method of the training called “sayasehat, semuasehat” is effective increasing awareness for the college students with the efforts to decrease the risk of hepatitis A. The subject of the research are twenty students. The criteria are the students who often buy food in street foodstall. The subject were the students who live in the dormitory or in boarding house and willing to follow the training. They fulfil ledwritten informed consent to follow the four sessions training. This research uses pretest and postest control group design. The data was analyzed using anava mixed design. The intervention of this research was training called“saya sehat, semua sehat”. The result shows that the training of “saya sehat, semua sehat”, were able to increase the college students’ awareness againts hepatitis A. The increase significantly happened in experiment group. Abstract

AbstractObjective of this research is to see whether psychoeducation and relaxation can reduce anxiety in pre-menopausal women. Subjects of the research are women live in villages in Yogyakarta, they experience pre-menopausal symptoms such as irregular menstrual cycles in the 6 months or at the last-1 year and experience hot flashes, sweating at night and sleep disorders. subjects were divided into two groups: an experimental group which consisted of 6 subjects and the control group consisted of 5 subjects. Data collection tool used in this research is the anxiety scale TMAS (Taylor manifest anxiety scale). Data wereanalyzed using non-parametric test with Mann Whitney and Wilcoxon test. It showed that the experimental group obtained significant results with values p = 0.027 (p <0.05) and the Z value is -2.207 while the control group showed no significant results with p = 0.102 (p> 0.05) and the Z value is -1.633. The Mann Whitney test showed significant values 0.021 and Z value is -2.303. In conclusion the provision of psychoeducation and relaxation menopause can reduce anxiety in pre-menopausal women.Keywords: anxiety, psychoeducation, relaxation, premenopausal

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to determine the effect of laughter therapy in reducing the tendency of burnout in special needs teacher assistant. Subject of this research is 10 people with medium burnout indication, and five people of experimental group and five people of controlled group. The instrument used to measure the tendency of burnout with burnout propensity scale based on the symptoms of burnout. The experimental design uses design experimental quasi of pre-test and post-test of control group. Interventions given to subject are laugther therapy to experimental group for 8 meetings for two weeks. The quantitative analysis uses non parametric test with Mann Whitney test on gain score pre-post of experimental groups and controlled groups, its results Z value of -2,009 with significant level of 0,045 (p<0,05). The qualitative analysis is done by analyzing the result of interview and observation. The results show that there are significant differences in levels of burnout tendencies between the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group showed decrease of burnout indication while controlled group did not experience the decreasing.Keywords: burnout, laughter therapy, tendency of burnout

Abstract

AbstractThis research was intended to find out the correlation between academik motivation and academic procastination on post garduate students. The population of the study was taken from magister students of a postgraduate school in Jakarta during the period of 2010-2014. The sampling technique used purposive sampling and involved 30 post graduate students as samples. Data were collected through Academic Motivation Scale and Academic Procastinantion Scale and were analized using product moment correlation technique. Result showed that the correlation coefficient between values r = 0.348 with a significance p=0.059 (p ≥ 0.05), it means that there was insignificant relationship between motivations and academic procrastination on post graduate students. Based on the data analysis, the study concludes that there is no significant correlation to academic procrastination on magister students. It suggests that magister students’ motivation is not significant to reducingbehavior of academic procrastination.Keywords: academic motivation, academic procrastination, motivation

Abstract

AbstractThe aim of this study is to improve the future of education orients in adolescents. The data were obtained through the future–oriented scale of education, interview and observation. The interventions used are solution-focused brief counseling (KSFS). The intervention was conducted six meetings, each of which was done three times a week. The subjects of the study were all the seventh and ninth graders of SMP 4 Pandak, Bantul, which totaled 214 students. The subjects were given a screening as the pretest with the results of 64 students in the medium future-oriented category of education. The results of the pretest were performed randomly to get the two groups, i.e. 10 students as the experimental group and 10 students as a control group. Data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test and Wilcoxon technique. Results showed that z Z score coefficient reach z=- 2.02 with p = 0,043 (p<0,05, it means that there was significantly high differences in the future-oriented education between the control group and experimental group after given a brief counseling intervention focused solutions. Planning aspect gave the highest contribution for increasingstudents, future orientation compared to motivation and evaluation.Key words: brief counseling focused on solution, counseling, future orientation,

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelatihan orientasi masa depan, terhadap peningkatan orientasi masa depan siswa dan hubungan orientasi orientasi masa depan dengan harapan keberhasilan studi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa SMA kelas X Semarang, berjumlah 37 orang. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan pendekatan eksperimen dengan desain one group pre tes post tes. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan skala, yaitu skalaorientasi masa depan dan skala harapan keberhasilan studi. Uji beda digunakan sebagai teknik analisis data untuk mengetahui perbedaan orientasi masa depan sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan dilakukan dan teknik korelasi product mement digunakan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara orientasi masa depan dengan harapan keberhasilan studi siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh koefisien nilai Z=-5,304, artinya terdapat perbedaan orientasi masa depan pada siswa sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan. Pelatihan orientasi masa depan terbukti meningkatkan orientasi masa depan siswa. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan besarnya koefisien koerelasi sebesar r=0, 477, artinya terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara orientasi masa depan dengan harapan keberhasilan studi siswa. Semakin tinggi orientasi masa depan siswa maka semakin tinggi harapan akan keberhasilan studi siswa.
