Abstract

In the context of ophthalmic care, where early diagnosis of eye disorders plays a crucial role in patients' quality of life, this study focused on the development and evaluation of an expert system based on SWI Prolog. The main objective of this research was to provide an effective method for the preliminary diagnosis of ocular disorders, including cataract, trachoma, uveitis, glaucoma, and presbyopia. For the evaluation of the system, a confusion matrix was implemented and accuracy, sensitivity and specificity were calculated using a sample of 30 cases, of which 20 were positive and 10 negatives. The findings revealed an outstanding accuracy of 95%, with a sensitivity and specificity of 90%. This highlights the potential of the tool as an effective means of early detection of visual problems. In conclusion, this expert system represents a significant advance in ophthalmologic diagnosis, with important implications for clinical care and patients' quality of life, although expansion and validation of the tool in further clinical studies is suggested for its wider and more successful implementation in the field of ophthalmology.

Abstract

Energy security has become increasingly important because of its impact on all sectors of the economy, and even more because of the scarcity of primary energy resources and price fluctuations caused by geopolitical tensions. This has prompted all countries to assess their energy situation and take strategic measures to mitigate energy risks. Accordingly, the aim of this study is to identify the dimensions of energy security with the greatest impact on Morocco's energy security, as well as the priority strategic measures for mitigating energy risk. To this end, we consider the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (F-AHP) method, which is a multiple criteria decision analysis method, which has been used to obtain results based on a structured evaluation process. The obtained results, following the considered comparison matrix, underscore that availability and resilience dimensions have the greatest impact on the Moroccan energy security, with respective weights of 48% and 28%. Besides, mitigating energy risk in Morocco primarily involves the development of renewable energies compared with seven other proposed measures, along with their degree of priority.

Abstract

In this paper, we propose a new technique to improve QRS complex detection. This technique consists of incorporating an autoencoder and bidirectional long short term memory (BiLSTM). The autoencoder used is a stacked autoencoder and functions as signal filtering. Meanwhile, BiLSTM is used as a detector. Exploration of the effect of hyperparameter in the autoencoder was also carried out to determine the effect on QRS complex detection. Furthermore, the dataset used in this study is the MIT-BIH arrhythmia database. Based on the experimental results, the hyperparameter in the autoencoder that gives a better effect on QRS complex detection is 16-8. Finally, the proposed method out-of-perform state of the art algorithm with accuracy 99.94%.

Abstract

Open cathode proton exchange membrane fuel cells (OC-PEM fuel cells) serve as electricity generators, utilizing hydrogen as an input source. While effective for fixed loads like residential applications, challenges arise in dealing with output voltage fluctuations caused by rapid load changes. These fluctuations not only impact fuel cell performance but also introduce instability in the supplied power. To solve this issue, the study proposes an innovative hydrogen flow control system employing a feedforward wavelet- fuzzy method. The primary goal of this control system is to enhance fuzzy control performance using wavelets, mitigating signal fluctuations and achieving optimal stability in fuel cell output voltage under constant load conditions. Wavelet functions act as filters on the fuzzy control input, minimizing fluctuations and refining the entire process. Additionally, a feedforward system is incorporated to maintain hydrogen flow at the set point value. The proposed control system is implemented on a validated model using experimental data. Performance analysis reveals that the proposed method effectively stabilizes voltage by accelerating the recovery time from disturbances.

Abstract

In this paper, experimental test results of several ground electrodes surrounded with gravelly soil medium subjected to high impulse currents were studied, to investigate the effect of confined soil surround electrodes. Ground resistance measurements were performed at low magnitude of voltage and current, where the results are compared to the impulse characteristics of ground electrodes. This paper shows a significant difference in the RDC values and impulse characteristics of ground electrodes when gravelly soil medium surrounded the ground electrode in comparison to the electrodes installed in natural soil. This indicates that the confined soil around the electrode has a major effect on the performance of ground electrodes, whether at steady state or under high impulse conditions. Equivalent circuit for each tested electrode was developed with personal simulation program with integrated circuit emphasis (PSPICE), where the effect of inductance was seen in the electrodes surrounded with gravelly soil.

Abstract

This article presents a review of several microstrip patch antennas for 3.5 GHz wireless applications. Different substrate materials, FR-4 (loss), FR-4 Epoxy, Rogers RT/droid 5880, TLC-30, and Rogers RT/droid 5880 LZ, are used. In recent years, wireless antenna applications have increased, including biomedical appliances, internet of things (IoT) terminals, edge devices, radars, mobile phones, and many more. In this work, several articles were reviewed and investigated, and several microstrip patch antennas with a resonance frequency of 3.5 GHz were designed using different substrate materials and shapes. This article also discussed the geometric shapes of antennas, antenna properties, sizes of substrate materials, loss tangent, thickness, return loss, bandwidth, voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR), gain, efficiency, and directivity. Several software is used for design and simulation, including computer simulation technology (CST), high-frequency simulation frequency (HFSS), and advanced design system (ADS), FEKO, and MATLAB. The main goal of this paper is to talk about different wireless application papers that work in the S-band at a frequency of 3.5 GHz and have been published in various international journals and conferences.

Abstract

The 5G-enabled vehicular network is an innovative technology that has promise for intelligent transportation systems. It enables the transmitting of messages about traffic that deliver the most recent information on congestion, road conditions, and driving surroundings. The communication channel used by vehicle networks is inherently open, which unfortunately exposes the system to privacy and security concerns. To solve the problems of deploying a safe vehicular network, some academics have put forth plans. However, a number of current methods have significant computational or communication overhead costs. To solve this problem, an efficient and secure authentication with a privacypreserving (ES-APP) scheme established elliptic curve encryption is introduced. With the proposed ES-APP, the data signed and verified for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure modes in the 5G-based vehicular network are more effective. The ES-APP scheme’s goal is to meet the criteria for the security and privacy of the 5G-enabled automotive network. Ultimately, this work discusses the critical survey of the existing studies and the expected outcome for the ESAPP scheme and further works in the 5G-enabled vehicular network.

Abstract

Cloud computing rapidly is a prerequisite and releases resources with minimal management effort. The surfacing of the cloud has significantly distorted the general insight into infrastructure, software services, and development models. In contrast to single-key encryption models based on public or private keys (PKs), hybrid encryption systems combine encryption methods using symmetric or asymmetric methods. Various hybrid algorithms fail to meet users’ expectations regarding data security and cannot prevent all security risks. The secure and efficient data storage and retrieval (SEDSR) algorithm was developed for scalable key management between the content owner, cloud user, and service providers in an un-trusted cloud environment. In the implementation, the SEDSR combines the Rivest Shamir Adleman (RSA) algorithm 4096 key length with a primary symmetric key method to provide adequate and compact security with optimal retrieval systems in the cloud. Based on the experimental evaluation, the SEDSR minimizes 1.7 seconds of encryption times (ET) and 1.5 seconds of decryption time (DT) and improves by 34% throughput (TRP) compared to existing parameters.

Abstract

The fifth generation (5G) of mobile telecommunication standards is intended to offer better performance and efficiency. One of the most significant difficulties in delivering safe data transfer through the transmission channel in the emerging 5G technology is channel-coding security. This research primarily focused on offering information transmission that is secure in the place of novel assaults such as side-channel attacks. In this research, we present a low-density parity check (LDPC) encoder that is constructed using the multiplicative masking method to overcome side-channel attacks, one of the most significant security concerns for the upcoming 5G system. As a result, it offers greater security, reduced complexity, and higher performance. Power, area, and delay can all be calculated using LDPC codes. Comparing multiplicative masking implemented LDPC encoders to ordinary channel coding techniques in terms of security seen that multiplicative masking implemented LDPC encoders offer more security. The program Xilinx ISE 14.7 can synthesize the analysis. The advantage of multiplicative masking is that it offers a promising level of security through the principle of randomization, which is the foundation of the procedure. According to the analysis, the secured transmission of the data by the proposed multiplicative masking implemented LDPC encoder is increased.

Abstract

Blood is a fluid in the body that mainly serves as a medium for transporting various substances in the body. Detection of human blood group types with this microcontroller utilizes dark and light properties. The dark character appears due to agglomeration, while the light nature arises because of no agglomeration, for this to happen, a liquid reagent is needed. Administration of this liquid uses the aviator's breathing oxygen (ABO) system, which consists of reagent a, reagent b, and reagent c and mixing it with blood on the test paper. The number of blood samples in each reagent is based on blood lancet. Furthermore, the sensors used to detect these properties are photodiode and light emitting diode (LED) each of 3 pieces. The Arduino Uno is used to process sensor input while at the same time producing displayed human blood group type on the display screen. The test is carried out involving 12 blood samples and a medical officer. Medical officer are tasked reading directly the results of mixing between reagents and blood samples, after that are compared with the system. The results show that the deviation of the system reading is 0.167 for the sensor reading distance with the sample as far as 0.5 cm.
