Journal of Educational, Health and Community Psychology
Journal of Educational, Health, and Community Psychology (JEHCP) published an article, and empirical study that have originality, novelty and fill the gap of knowledge, that focused on educational psychology, health psychology and community psychology. JEHCP is an open access peer reviewed, multidisciplinary journal that publishes quality studies related to psychology. JEHCP is interdisciplinary in approach, and includes to reports of qualitative case studies, quantitative experiments and surveys, mixed method studies, action researches, meta-analyses, and discussions of conceptual and methodological issues. The field of educational psychology includes the effectiveness of educational interventions, the psychology of teaching, and the social psychology of schools as organizations, motor skills and other psycho-physiological processes; cognitive development involving areas such as problem solving, language acquisition; social, personality, and emotional development; self-concept and identity formation. The field of Health Psychology includes the stress-related ilnesses, the health coping strategy, resiliency, work on health attitudes and behaviour, health locus of control, quality of life in chronic disease, influence of emotion on health and health-related behaviours, psychological interventions in health and disease as well as psychological aspects of prevention. The field of Community Psychology includes research, evaluation, assessment and intervention, and review articles that deal with human behavior in community settings. Articles of interest include descriptions and evaluations of service programs and projects, studies of youth, parenting, and family development, methodology and design for work in the community, the interaction of groups in the larger community, and criminals and corrections.

                                      AbstractOne of the great positive behavioral factors among staff at university is emotional intelligence. In reality, emotional intelligence is cause of different reaction at workplace that was appeared by staff and also controlled most of moods in various situations. Moreover, knowing factors that impact on emotional intelligence is very vital and lead to different positive and negative behavior among staff. Reward is one of these external effective factors that influence on emotional intelligence. Present study considered to these two factors and also investigates their association together. The sample of this study made up of 440 academic staff that work in public research universities in Malaysia. The participants completed the emotional intelligence scale. The results indicated that there are significant associations between reward with emotional intelligence items (perception and managing own emotion) that analyzed by t-test. AbstractThis research evaluated the association between socio demographic characteristics and housing satisfaction of Iranian immigrantâs homeowners in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Data was collected from 325 participants through self-administered questionnaire. Pearsonâs correlation analysis revealed monthly income of first income earner, total earned income earner, price of residential unit, number of bed room, time owners have been in Malaysia, had positive significant relationship with housing satisfaction of Iranian immigrants homeowners in the study region. Nevertheless, there was no significant association between age, number of bath room, number of dining room, number of living room, length of residence in current house, monthly income of second income earner, number of income earner, number of children, and size of household and housing satisfaction of the immigrant ownersâ households. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) indicated that housing satisfaction differed between level of education, level of income, and level of price of residential unit. Independent t-test shown that there was significant difference between gender and housing satisfaction of the participants. These associations indicate that those who are females, higher income, higher education, higher residential unit with more room are more satisfied. It is recommended planners and policy makers should prominence on development of housing conditions of immigrantâs households to increase their housing satisfaction.Keywords: background characteristic, housing satisfaction, housing, immigrantâs homeownerâs households

AbstractThe aim of present literature review paper is to identify vital role of income on the amount of job satisfaction and residential satisfaction. The findings of this study express that these two inner feeling factors have fundamental role on individualâs life. In addition, this study focused on value of income and its effect on job satisfaction and residential satisfaction. Moreover, low levels of income leads to various difficulties such as low level of job satisfaction and decrease of residential satisfaction among individuals and threaten their behaviors and reactions at work.                     Abstract The current study was intended to examine the association between personality factors and job satisfaction among academic staff. The job satisfaction assumed as an essential factor in educational organizations spatially university that influenced by various factors. Moreover, distinguishing these effective factors is very important and lack of consideration to this inner feeling leads to several abnormal organizational behaviors at university. Therefore, this study focused on the association between these two factors at university. A cross-sectional examination design was applied with purposive selected sample that taken from academic staff (N=440) of public research universities in Klang Valley, Malaysia. In present study, the participants completed the job descriptive index inventory and the big five personality test which explained their personality factors and their relation with job satisfaction. It is concluded that neuroticism as one of the main personality factors predicts job satisfaction and there is negative relationship between neuroticism and job satisfaction and also there are positive relationships between agreeableness, consciousness and openness with job satisfaction that analyzed by correlation coefficient and regression analysis test.Key word: personality factors, job satisfaction, academic staff, university

AbstractJob assumed as one of the main human needs that has great contribution in presence of women in society. The purpose of present literature review is to identify the vital role of job among women at modern society, because it can expand and develop the abilities of women toward society and increase the amount of their responsibilities and performances at work environment. This study also emphasized that job advances the amount of efficiency among women during of working. Indeed, this paper supported the need of women to achieve improvement and creative job at society and appear as active member at work. Furthermore, lack of attention to accurate job for women leads to some difficulties for them and decrease their motivation for continuing job and presence at society.Keyword: Women, Modern Society, Job difficulties.

AbstractIn recent decade, there has been an increasing rate of international students all over the world, but little is known about the marital life of this population. The need to understand graduate studentsâ intentions to pursue an academic career has become more important over the years. While International studentsâ cross- cultural adjustment has received considerable attention in the sojourner literature, there is a paucity of research that addresses the unique challenges faced by the married international students. Therefore, this study attempts to examine the empirical findings of various studies that explore factors which contribute to problems of married international students, and have an integrated perspective on the problems that this population faces during their study. The results revealed that acculturation stress, financial stress and social support are the utmost problems that international couples experience. This study offers suggestions for universities to provide facilities that would decrease international studentsâ marital problems; also to prepare workshops to increase couplesâ knowledge of different conflict resolution methods which would be helpful to avoid conflict during their study abroad.Keywords: marital relationship, international students, socio cultural adjustment, academic problem

AbstractOne of the main organizational factors among staff is job satisfaction. This inner feeling assumed as basic factor that emerged by various elements at workplace. According to the different role of elements that effect on job satisfaction, organizationâs managers should be consider the correct styles of management. In reality, lack of consideration to this human need leads to appear various abnormal behaviors at organization. The main purpose of present literature review is focused on the vital role of conflict management styles on job satisfaction among staff and also examines relationships between conflict management styles and job satisfaction at workplace. In reality, momentous regard should be dedicated the accurate management styles at organization. Correspondingly, the precise management styles as external element have noticeable role on job satisfaction at organization because each of these styles can advance the obligation of staff toward organization. AbstractThe aim of this study is to determine the relationship between adding value; trust and teacher satisfaction among primaryand secondary school teachers in Malaysia.In this research,375 teachers were selected based on conveniencerandom sampling from teachers who study in educational field. This study is quantitative research and data were collected based on questionnaire and were analyzed using descriptive, correlation and regression analysis. Based onPearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient the results show that the high significant relationship exists between trust and teacher job satisfaction. However, low and negative relationship was found to exist between adding value and teacherâs satisfaction. Regarding to multiple regression, there are significant contribution of trust and teacher satisfaction. AbstractBeside we have to have adequate answers for our material needs we must have active relationships with our social environment as well. People living in segregated circumstances have limited access to the rest of the society, but elderly people of these fields can be mentally separated from their own communities too, according to recent research results in Hungary.In every society of the world, external intervention for inhabitants must be based on relevant information. This has got two main resources: the first one is the theoretical framework of group processes; the second is the practical knowledge of the special territory where the programs can be implemented.This paper has got three main chapters. From the âIntroductionâ the Reader will understand a special element of social inequalities, when we are going to concentrate on the determinant role of residential segregation. In the second chapter we will deal with the disintegration process and the decayingsolidarity level of small communities, which has a major impact on elderly care. After we introduced the details of this question, we will provide a good example for intervention in the interest of people living in smaller settlements with dementia. In the âConclusionâ we will summarize the main points, withonwards thoughts about further development.Keyword: Elderly, deprived groups, social intervention, and dementia

AbstractThis study examined the self theory of Carl Rogers in depth. There are some important concepts illuminated well, considering ones personality development. Its main focus was positive regard, self-worth and actualizing tendency, proposed by Rogers. To explain them in brief, positive regard was studied through self-image, ideal self and congruence. Self-worth is described as conditional and unconditional to cope with challenges in life, tolerate failures and sadness at times. Actualizing tendency was expounded into fully functioning or self-actualizing. These all concepts indicated that having a tendency on human behavior and concentrating on the capacity of individuals to think intentionally and soundly, to control their biological urges, are significantly main elements to evaluate oneâs self. Therefore, in the humanistic perspective, individuals have the opportunity and will to change their states of mind and behavior. This study might be a guide to some certain aspect of self related studies for other researchers to benefit accordingly and also to develop a new scale related to self using Rogersâs theory.Keywords: Rogers, personality, self, positive regard, actualizing tendency
