Abstract

The aim of this study was to find the impact of feedback in formative assessment in the learning process activity and students learning outcomes on learning chemistry. The method used on this study was quasi experiment research with non-equivalent control group design. The result showed that the application of feedback in formative assessment has a positive impact toward students learning process activity. Students become more enthusiastic, motivated, and more active on the learning process. Thus in this study can be conclude that feedback in formative assessment have a positive impact toward the learning process activity to form a habits of mind.

Abstract

This research aims to indentify student’s argumentation skill which is seen from argumentation discourse and then it is analyzed using TAP (Toulmin Argumentation Pattern) which consists of some components such as data, claim, warrant, backing and rebuttal on the topic of Archimedes Principle. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The result of this research shows based on the written assignment, the student’s scientific argumentation skill is not good. The student often do not use an appropriate argumentation, do not use adequate evidence, or try to straighten their own option or try to apply their own argument.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in the application of the model LC (5E) with a technique variation (interrelationship diagram / ID and affinity diagrams / AD) of two classes of different school (XIPA-8 class of SMAN 3 Surakarta and class XIPA-6 of SMAN 3 Boyolali), toward the increase of students’ creativity. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The results of this study, we can conclude that the application of the model LC (5E) with a technique variation at two schools can improve students' creativity despite different levels of improvement.

Abstract

This research was conducted to describe the application of active learning based on Better Teaching and Learning (BTL) in improving process skill and students study result of grade VIII SMP N 21 Semarang.  The methode is classroom Action Research. The  research result reviewed that the increasethe process skill of students at cycle 1 and 2 are :80.95 and 94.29. While the studentsstudy result  above passing grade at the cycles 1and 2 are: 74.0 and 77.0. This result research that applying active learning Based on Better Teaching and Learning could increase the process skill and study result of the students.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to find out the increase in student’s independent learning and concept understanding on the rotational dynamics after getting the PBL learning and handout. This study was conducted by using "pretest - posttest control group" experimental design. The result of analysis data showed the The average value of N-gain understanding concepts for the experimental group was 74,76%, with the higher category, but for the control group obtained N-gain is 26,76% with low category. N-gain self-regulated laerning for the experimental group was 31% with the medium category and for control group of 20% low category. These results were confirmed by t-test with significant value (0.000) under the probability value (0,05). So that it can be said that PBL learning and the handouts could to improve the student independent learning and concept understanding on the rotational dynamic.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a web-based performance assessment in Integrated Science course. The research was Research and Development (R & D). The expert validation of developed products resulted the average percentage of 3.88 for content category, 3.94 for format category, and 3.78 for language category. Meanwhile, critical thinking skill aspect resulted percentage of 92.20 basic clarification indicators, 90.05 for basic for the decision category, and 94.67 for inference category. Students also responded positively to web-based performance assessment in Integrated Science course.

Abstract

This study examined how students’ scientific writing skills changed over as they participated in the Reading Project Based Learning (RPjBL) model. This action research was conducted by Biology Teacher of Education Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education in SebelasMaret University. The results show that the scientificwriting level increased on the last writing activities. It was suggested that RPjBL could have a positive impact on students’ scientific writing. Students who experienced the RPjBL emphasized the sentences reflecting the application and used high cognitive level sentences.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the whether there is difference of science process skill (SPS) mastery and students’ achievement between students who joined class that used scientific based learning method and ones that joined conventional method. The method of this research is Quasi-Experimental Design with static group design. The result showed that there was a significant improvement of SPS mastery by applying scientific based learning, while the improvement of conventional learning class was not quite significant. So, it can be concluded that there was a significant improvement of sig = 0,003 between students’ SPS mastery that joined scientific based learning compared to that joined conventional learning.
