Abstract

This study aimed to determine the positive effects of the applicatioan of learning model by using script cooperative with SETS approach to chemistry students learning outcomes of student in class X. The population in this study is students class X high school in Kendal. Sampling is done by cluster purposive sampling technique, obtained one class as a experiment class that uses of script cooperative learning with the model SETS approach and another class as the gain control class with expository teaching using SETS approach. Data were collected by using documentation method, testing, observation and questionnaires. Based on the analysis of  affective domain data, it gained score percentage of 80% for the experimental class and 78% for   control class. While the score percentage for the psychomotor domain data acquired 79% of the experimental class and 78% the control class. Based on the analysis of the results, obtained correlation coefficient r b 0.52 with the contribution of 28%. The conclusions in this study is the use of script cooperative learning with the model SETS approach have an effects on the the learning outcomes of chemistry class X of high school students in Kendal on the subject redox concept with contributions of 28%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kontribusi pembelajaran berbasis proyek terhadap jiwa kewirausahaan siswa. Sampel penelitian diambil dengan teknik cluster random sampling dan terambil 2 kelas dari 5 kelas. Kelas eksperimen I menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis proyek, sedangkan kelas eksperimen II menggunakan pembelajaran ceramah. Desain penelitian ini adalah pretest posttest control group design. Data diperoleh dengan metode observasi dan angket. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji t dan skala likert. Hasil analisis secara kuantitatif kelas eksperimen dengan nilai aspek kerjasama sebesar 3,40; aspek disiplin sebesar 3,47; aspek tanggungjawab sebesar 3,39; aspek komunikatif sebesar 3,07; aspek percaya diri sebesar 3,15; aspek ulet sebesar 3,14; aspek kreatif sebesar 2,84; dan aspek inovatif sebesar 2,95. Sedangkan kelas eksperimen II dengan nilai aspek kerjasama sebesar 3,14; aspek disiplin sebesar 3,49; aspek tanggungjawab sebesar 3,23; aspek komunikatif sebesar 3,14; aspek percaya diri sebesar 3,02; aspek ulet sebesar 2,98; aspek kreatif sebesar 2,78; dan aspek inovatif sebesar 2,59. Hasil analisis secara kualitatif data angket jiwa kewirausahaan pada kelas eksperimen berada pada kategori sangat baik, sedangkan pada kelas eksperimen II berada pada kategori baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis proyek berkontribusi terhadap jiwa kewirausahaan siswa. This research aimed to determine the effect of project based learning for students entrepreneurship. Samples were taken with a cluster random sampling technique and drawn two of fifth group. Experimental-I group using project based learning, while experimental-II group using conventional based learning. Design used is pretest posttest control group design. Data collected by observation and questionnaires. Data analyzed using t-test and likert scale. The analysis result of the experimental-I group with score aspects of cooperation 3,40; aspects of discipline 3,47; aspects of responsible 3,39; aspects of communicative 3,07; aspects of selfconfident 3,15; aspects of ductile 3,14; aspects of creative 2,84 and aspects of innovative 2,95; while experimental-II group with score aspects of cooperation 3,14; aspects of discipline 3,49; aspects of responsible 3,23; aspects of communicative 3,14; aspects of self-confident 3,02; aspects of ductile 2,98, aspects of creative 2,78 and aspects of innovative 2,59. The analysis result of questionnaries entrepeneurships, experimental-I group with high category, while experimental-II group with medium category. The result of research can concluded that project based learning have effect to students entrepreneurship.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar kimia antara siswa yang diberi model pembelajaran ASSURE dengan metode Problem Solving dan metode yang biasa digunakan oleh guru pengampu dan apabila ada perbedaan, hasil belajar manakah yang lebih baik diantara keduanya. Sampel diambil dengan teknik cluster random sampling, diperoleh kelas eksperimen XI IPA 1 sebanyak 30 siswa dan kelas kontrol XI IPA 2 sebanyak 30 siswa. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu metode dokumentasi, observasi, dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen 83,26 dan kelas kontrol 75,1. Hasil uji perbedaan dua rata-rata dua pihak menunjukkan ada perbedaan antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol. Sedangkan uji perbedaan dua ratarata menunjukkan kelas eksperimen lebih baik dari kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan pada hasil belajar kimia di antara siswa yang diberi model pembelajaran ASSURE dengan metode Problem Solving dengan metode yang biasa digunakan oleh guru. Hasil belajar kimia dan keterampilan berpikir kritis pada siswa yang diberi model pembelajaran ASSURE dengan metode Problem Solving terbukti lebih baik daripada hasil belajar kimia siswa yang diberi metode yang biasa digunakan oleh guru. This study aims to determine whether there are differences in learning outcomes in chemistry among students by learning model ASSURE Problem Solving method and the method usually used by teachers and if there are differences, Which better learning outcomes between the two. Samples were taken at random cluster sampling technique, obtained grade XI Science 1 amounted to 30 students as an experimental class 2 and class XI science class numbered 30 students as control. Data collection method used is the documentation, observation and tests. The results showed the average value of the experimental class and control class 83.26 75.1. Test results on the average difference between the two classes, shows that there are differences between the experimental class with the control class. While the difference in the two trials showed that the average of the experimental class is better than the control class. The results showed that there are differences in the chemistry learning outcomes among students who were given learning model ASSURE Problem Solving method with the method used by the teacher. Results subjects studied chemistry and critical thinking skills in students who were given learning model ASSURE Problem Solving method proved to be better than the results of studying chemistry students who were given the method used by the teacher.

Abstract

This study was conducted to find out the effect of Team Games Tournament teaching model using Tournament-Question Cards, toward the learning outcomes of a Senior High School (SHS) in Semarang on hydrocarbon and crude oil subjects. The initial observation result showed that their learning outcomes was still low as 55,78%. The population was X grader of a SHS in Semarang for the academic years 2011/2012. The sample was X-3 grader students as the control and X-4 grader as the experimental, which were selected using cluster random sampling method. Team Games Tournament teaching model using Tournament-Question Cards were applied in the  experimental class, while the conventional teaching model were used in the control class. Based on the facts, the average of post test result from the experiment class was 83,96 and the control class was 75,56. The experiment class and the control class post test grades were distributed normally and had the same variants, whereas on the one-sample t-test result was t count (3,61) > t table (2,02)  which mean the average grade of experiment was better than the control class. Hypothesis testing used were biserial correlation coefficient and coefficient of determination obtained rb =0,618 and the influence 38,15%. It can be concluded that there is a significant correlation between Team Games Tournament teaching model using Tournament-Question Cards toward the learning outcomes of X grader of SHS in Semarang on hydrocarbon and crude oil subjects, with influence 38,15%.Key Words: Tournament-Question Cards media

Abstract

In order to achieve the national education goals, students are required to have critical thinking skills, especially on abstract lesson such as chemistry. Preliminary research conducted at one of high school in Ambarawa found that the assessment instruments used have not been oriented toward critical thinking skills. The purpose of this study is to investigate the process of developing critical thinking skills assessment instruments, to obtain the innovation critical thinking skills assessment instruments that can measure students critical thinking skills, and acquire critical thinking skills assessment instruments that meet criteria for valid and reliable. The research is a Research and Development. The procedures are the preliminary stages of research and development stages. Preliminary stages are divided into two, namely the field studies and literature studies. The development stages are divided into several parts, namely 1) develop the type of instrument, 2) validation by expert, 3) a limited scale trial, 4) large-scale trials and 5) implementation of the product. The results of this study indicate that the type of instrument used in schools have cognitive taxonomic level C1 to C2 and sometimes C3. Assessment instruments developed was essay test analysis, student activity sheets, and testoriented problem solving students critical thinking skills. Assessment instruments that have been developed in this study is valid and reliable and positive effect on students cognitive learning outcomes. Keywords: Assessment Instruments, Critical Thinking Skills, Acid-Base Materials

Abstract

Learning with the conventional method make competency achievement in chemistry subject is still low. This study aimed to determine the effect of Model Cooperative Class Experiment (CCE) type Team Games Tournament (TGT) on CBC and Learning Outcomes on high school students in the topic of redox reactions. Sample determination was using cluster random sampling technique, class X8 grade students is as the experimental class and X7 class is as control class. The method used in data collection is documentation, in the form of multiple choice test and an essay in the form of open-ended questions and observations. The results showed that analysis of CBC data test achieved fifth subindikator CBC in the experimental class gained an average of 73.75%, which means that students can develop CBC with good criterion, while the control class with an average of 64.68% in the CBC is sufficient criteria. The analysis data obtained rb 0.51 with the contribution of 26.29%. The results of this study concluded that the implementation of Cooperative Learning Model Class Experi ment (CCE) Study Team Games Tournament (TGT) type have signiffican effect on CBC and student learning outcomes in high school in Semarang on the redox subject with the contribution of 26.29%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research and Development (R&D). Tahapan rancangan pengembangan media flash ini menggunakan langkah prosedural oleh Borg and Gall. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keefektifan pada ranah kognitif, afektif dan psikomotorik dalam penggunaan media flash berbasis pembelajaran inkuiri. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi, tes, angket dan dokumentasi. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Produk pengembangan dinyatakan valid dan layak apabila telah memenuhi kriteria baik atau sangat baik dari validator. Produk pengembangan teruji untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa yaitu diuji berdasarkan penggunaan media flash pada proses pembelajaran. Hasil pengembangan produk media flash berbasis pembelajaran inkuiri dinyatakan valid dengan kategori baik dan layak diterapkan berdasarkan uji kelayakan oleh ahli media dan ahli materi dengan skor rata-rata ahli media 73.5 dan ahli materi 37. Media flash dinyatakan efektif karena 36 siswa mencapai nilai KKM pada hasil tes, dengan nilai n-gain 0,71 dan pada aspek afektif dan psikomotorik termasuk dalam kategori baik, serta mendapat respon positif dari penggunanya dilihat dari angket tanggapan siswa, sehingga media flash efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. The research include in Research and Development (R&D). This step of flash media development uses procedural step by Borg and Gall. The purpose of this research is to know the effectiveness in the cognitive, afective, and psychomotoric domain in using flash media based on inquiry learning. Data accumulation in this research uses observation, test, questionaire and documentation methods. The result data of this research is analyzed by using quantitative descriptive analysis method. Development product is called valid and proper if it has fullfilled good or very good criteria from the validator. The development product proved to improve the learning outcome that is proved base on the using of flash media in learning process. The development result of flash media product based inquiry learning is called valid with good and proper category is implemented base on properness test by media and matery expert with average score of media expert is 73,5 and matery expert is 37. The flash media is called effective because 36 students gain minimum campetence criteria (KKM) score in test result, with n-gain score is 0,71 and afective and psychomotoric aspect include in good category, and also get a positive respond from user that can be seen by the students responds questionare, so flash media is effective to improve the students learning outcome.

Abstract

Preliminary study has performed in a high school in Semarang within grade X of the school year 2012/2013, obtained the classical completeness students on chemistry subject less than 85% and the ability of students life skill was lower, equal to 61%. This study applied the learning-oriented Chemoentrepreneurship (CEP) in petroleum subject. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the learning-oriented CEP in understanding the concepts and life skills of high school students’ grade X. The population in this study were class X students of high school in Semarang. The design used is a posttest only control design. The sample was taken by random cluster sampling technique, the class X-3 as the experimental class and the class X-2 as a control class. The results of completeness study showed that experimental class achieved mastery of classical study at 88.89%, while the control class was only 78.95%. The average of students’ concept understanding in experimental class was better than the control class respectively 80.11 and 74.32. The ability of student life skill increased from 61% to 84. The results showed that the learning-oriented CEP provided significant effectiveness in understanding the concepts and life skills of class X high school students.Keywords: Chemoentrepreneurship, Concept Understands, Life Skill

Abstract

Dalam rangka meningkatkan keberhasilan siswa untuk mencapai kompetensi yang diharapkan, perlu dilakukan inovasi dalam pembelajaran. Salah satu inovasi tersebut adalah menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Jigsaw. Pembelajaran dengan model Jigsaw merupakan suatu model pembelajaran yang melibatkan tim ahli, yaitu tim yang bertugas untuk membahas suatu konsep tertentu untuk dijelaskan kepada anggota kelompok semula. Model pembelajaran Jigsaw menuntut siswa untuk kreatif, mempunyai rasa ingin tahu yang tinggi serta memiliki rasa tanggung jawab terhadap dirinya sendiri dan kelompoknya. Dalam penelitian ini, diamati bagaimana motivasi dan hasil belajar kimia siswa setelah mengalami pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model Jigsaw. Penelitian ini terdiri atas 2 siklus. Pada setiap akhir siklus dilakukan tes untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman siswa. Validasi data dilakukan oleh teman sejawat. Indikator kinerja pada penelitian ini adalah meningkatnya jumlah siswa yang mencapai KKM mata pelajaran kimia sekurang-kurangnya sebesar 72% secara klasikal pada akhir siklus I di kelas XI IPA3 SMA N 1 Pegandon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siswa yang mencapai KKM mengalami peningkatan yakni dari 58,8% sebelum menggunakan model Jigsaw menjadi 61,8% setelah menggunakan model Jigsaw pada siklus I dan 73,5 % pada siklus II. Selain itu juga terdapat peningkatan motivasi siswa dalam belajar kimia yang diukur melalui observasi dan wawancara. In order to increase student success in achieving the expected competencies, need innovations in learning. One of them by using Jigsaw Learning Model. Learning with Jigsaw model is a model of learning which involves a team of experts, the team assigned to discuss a certain concept to be explained to members of the original group. Jigsaw learning model requires students to be creative, have high curiosity as well as having responsibility for himself and his group. In this study, it was observed how the chemistry motivation and learning outcomes of students after studied by using Jigsaw model. This study consisted of two cycles. At the end of every cycle carried out tests to determine the level of student understanding. Validation of data is conducted by peer review. The performance indicators in this study is the increasing number of students who reach minimum critreria achievement (KKM) on chemistry subjects of at least 72% in the classical style at the end of the first cycle in class XI IPA3 SMA N 1 Pegandon. Results showed that students who achieve the KKM has increased from 58.8% before using Jigsaw model became 61.8% after using Jigsaw model in the first cycle and 73.5% in the second cycle. Also there is an increase in students motivation to learn chemistry as measured through observation and interviews.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to describe the efectiveness of using virtual chemistry laboratory to improve the chemistry students’ learning. The subjects of this study were the students at grade I of Tadris Kimia IAIN Walisongo Semarang in the academic year of 2011/2012.The subjects was 40 students. The research uses cluster random sampling technique. Class TK-IA is chosen as experimental class (the students who are taught using virtual chemistry laboratory), and class TK-IB is chosen as control class (the students who are not taught using virtual chemistry laboratory). The result showed that the average score for eksperimental class is 31,4 for the pre test and 74,4 for the post test. While the average for control class is 31,6 for the  pre test and 62,2 for the post test. The calculation using the t-test showed the value of the t-test is higher than the value of the t-table.the value of t-test is 4,332 while the value oft-table on alpha 5% is 2,02 (4,332>2,02). It can be concluded that there is a significant difference in student’s learning between students who are taught using virtual chemistry laboratory than students who are not taught without it. So, we can conclude that using virtual chemistry laboratory is effective to improve the chemistry students’ learning.
