Abstract

This experiment aimed to determine the influence of student’s learning outcomes of Senior High School (SHS) in Parakan through the application of TAI (Team Assisted Individualization) assisted of SIC (Smart and Interesting Card) media on the subject of redox reaction. The population in this experiment were X grade students Senior High School (SHS) in Parakan of the school year 2011/2012. Determination of the sample used cluster random sampling system that obtained two classes where X-3 as an experimental group that was treated by using TAI method assisted by SIC media and X-4 as a control group that was treated conventional methods. The research data was obtained by the method of documentation, testing, questionnaire and observation. The final analysis methods are normalization test, the similarity of two varians test, difference of two average test, gain test, biserial correlation, determination coefficient and analysis of questionnaire and observation sheet. The results showed that experiment class better than the control class. The results of study obtained results of the experimental group had an average 76,78 and a control group had an average of 67,82. TAI method assisted by SIC media give contribution to the learning outcome as 30%.Key words: TAI learning, SIC media

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of learning model with advance organizer envisions SETS to increase mastery of chemistry concepts in the high school in Semarang on buffer solution material. The design used in this research is the design of the control group non equivalent. Sampling was conducted with a purposive sampling technique, and obtained a XI 6 science grade as experimental class and class XI 5 science grade as control class. Data collection method used is the method of documentation, testing, observation, and questionnaires. The results showed that the average cognitive achievement of experimental class was 84, while the control class was 82. The result of data analysis showed that the effect of the application of learning model with advance organizer envisions SETS was able to increase the mastery of chemical concepts of 4%, with a correlation rate of 0.2. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the learning model with advance organizer envisions SETS had positive effect of increasing mastery of the concept of chemistry on buffer solution material. The advice given is learning model with organizer envisions SETS should also be applied to other chemistry materials. This is of course accompanied by a change in order to suit the needs of its effect on learning outcomes in the form of concept mastery of chemistry to be more increased.Keywords: Advance Organizer, Buffer Solution, Concept Mastery, SETS

Abstract

Submission of hydrocarbon material with the lecture method needs to be supplemented with other methods for improving learning outcomes that are not optimal. This study aimed to investigate the differences of learning outcomes in hydrocarbon materials of high school class X using cooperative learning model Numbered Head Together (NHT) types Guided Note Taking (GNT) aproached with conventional learning models. The population of this research is students class X of an high school in Semarang academic year 2011/2012. Analysis of preliminary data produced learning outcomes and homogeneous normal population. Sampling was done with random sampling techniques, class XA as the experimental class and class XD as the control group. The study was designed in group control of pre test post test. Data was analysing by using the t test. Analysis data showed that in the experimental class N-gain is 0.65 while N-gain control class is 0.56. Average difference test obtained t count (2,28)> t table (2,00) means the learning outcomes of experimental class is better than control class. The average results of the learning outcomes of experimental class is 78.60, with completeness classical 85.71%. The average results of the learning outcomes of control class is 73.43, with completeness classical 71.42% so there is a significant difference in learning outcomes hydrocarbon materials in chemistry class X of High School students using cooperative learning models NHT type GNT aproached against students using conventional learning models.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek terhadap peningkatan keterampilan metakognitif siswa materi larutan penyangga dan hidrolisis di Suatu SMA di Bae Kudus. Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas pada kelas XI IPA 2 sebanyak 30 siswa. Penelitian tindakan kelas terdiri atas siklus I dengan materi larutan penyangga dan siklus II dengan materi hidrolisis. Metode pengumpulan data berupa tes kognitif berbentuk uraian, lembar pengamatan, dokumentasi dan angket. Keterampilan metakognitif diukur melalui tes kognitif berbentuk uraian dengan penilaian acuan kriteria yang dimodifikasi dari standard grade arrangement in science. Lembar pengamatan meliputi aspek afektif, psikomotorik, presentasi serta tugas proyek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 19 dari 30 siswa keterampilan metakognitif meningkat. Pengamatan afektif, psikomotorik serta presentasi siswa dengan kriteria sangat tinggi meningkat menjadi lebih dari 8 siswa dan 30 siswa berhasil mengerjakan proyek. Hasil angket menunjukkan respon siswa sangat tinggi dengan jumlah respon antara 91–117. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek materi larutan penyangga dan hidrolisis meningkatkan keterampilan metakognitif siswa Suatu SMA di Bae Kudus. The purpose of this research is to know the application of project based learning to improve students’ metacognitive skill in teaching the material of buffer and hydrolysis at SMA Negeri in Bae Kudus. The research used is a classroom action research towards students of grade XI IPA 2 as many as 30 students. This action research consisted of two cycles. The first was cycle I; the teacher taught buffer and the second was cycle II; the teacher taught hydrolysis. The methods of collecting the data were in essay cognitive form, observation checklist, documentation and questionnaire. Metacognitive skill is measured by essay cognitive form test by using Criterion-Referenced Test which modified from standard grade arrangement in science. The observation checklist consisted of affective, psychomotor, presentation and project tasks aspect. The result that 19 of 30 students increased their metacognitive skill. The observation of effective, psychomotor, and presentation by high criterion greater than 8 students increased and 30 students were successfully working the project. The result of the questionnaire showed that the students’ responses were very high with a number of 91-117. The conclusion of this research is the application of project based learning in material of buffer and hydrolysis increase the students’ metacognitive skill of Suatu SMA di Bae Kudus.

Abstract

This research aims to know the effectiveness of guided inquiry oriented green chemistry for science process skills at XI school grade of SMA in Semarang on 2012/2013 period. The population is normal and homogeneous, so to take two groups of samples using cluster random sampling techniques. Design of this research is posttest only control design. The succes of this research seen from cognitive aspect of student achievement reach KKM. At the final stage of the analysis, the t test used was left-test with t count > t table (1.696). The student achievement for experimental classes obtained t count of 3.860 while the control class 0,914. This suggests that the experimental class has achieved mastery learning, while the control class not yet. The average value of the psychomotor aspects of students in the experimental class was 82.6 which is included in the excellent category and control class was 74 included in good category. In the aspect of Students environmental concern, the average value of the experimental class was 88.65 included in the excellent category and class control was 81.7 included in good category. The conclusion was that the research-oriented guided inquiry of green chemistry proved effectively increase the science process skills.Keywords: Green Chemistry, Guided Inquiry, Science Process Skills

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui validitas diktat praktikum berbasis Guided Discovery–Inquiry bervisi Science, Environment, Technology and Society (SETS), mengetahui pengaruh terhadap peningkatan keterampilan proses sains dan tanggapan siswa terhadap diktat pada materi penyangga dan hidrolisis. Penelitian ini menggunakan tipe research and development yang diadopsi dari Sugiyono. One-Group Pretest and Posttest Design digunakan pada saat uji coba skala luas dan pengambilan sampelnya menggunakan teknik Purposive Sampling. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, validitas diktat praktikum mencapai skor 202 (sangat layak). Penggunaan diktat praktikum berbasis Guided Discovery–Inquiry bervisi SETS dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa. Adanya peningkatan tersebut dibuktikan dengan hasil thitung (10,34) lebih dari ttabel (2,04). Hasil tanggapan siswa menunjukkan 7 dari 30 siswa memberi tanggapan dengan kriteria sangat layak dan sisanya memberikan tanggapan dengan kriteria layak. Selain itu, rata-rata hasil belajar pada ranah psikomotorik maupun afektif mencapai kategori baik dan 21 dari 30 siswa mampu mencapai KKM berdasarkan hasil belajar pada ranah kognitif. Jadi hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan diktat praktikum berbasis Guided Discovery–Inquiry bervisi SETS sangat valid, dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan mendapat tanggapan positif dari siswa. Study aims to determine the validity of practicum dictates based Guided Discovery- Inquiry with Science, Environment, Technology and Society (SETS) vision, investigate the effect on the improvement of scientific process skills and knowing student responses toward the dictates used in buffer and hydrolisis. This study used research and development type which is adopted from Sugiyono. One-group pretest and posttest design is used when this product was tried in large scale and the sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique. Based on the results of research, the validity of the practicum dictates reached score 202 (very feasible). Using practicum dictates based Guided Discovery-Inquiry with SETS vision could increase students scientific process skills. It was proven by the result of tcalculation (10.34) is greater than ttable (2.04). The results of student responses showed 7 of 30 students gave very feasible criteria and the remainder gave feasible criteria. In addition, the average of learning result in the psychomotor and affective achieved good category and 21 of 30 students achieved KKM on the learning result of cognitive. So the results showed practicum dictates based Guided Discovery-Inquiry with SETS vision is very feasible, could increase scientific process skills and got a positive responses from students.

Abstract

The low learning outcome chemistry mainly caused by the learning process did not  provide the opportunity for students to gain learning experience. The purpose of this research was to improve student learning outcomes with Project-Based Learning approach. This study was a class action (Class-Room Action Research). This study was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The focus of this research was improving student learning outcomes. The data collection techniques used were technical documentation, observation and tests. Research was successful if at least 23 of the 30 students scored more than 75. The results showed that the application of Project-Based Learning approach can improve learning outcomes. Research data completeness cognitive learning outcomes cycle I was 23 of the 30 students completed, affective domain was 23 of 30 students completed and psychomotor domains was 27 of 30 students completed. Research data completeness cognitive learning outcomes cycle II was 26 of 30 students completed, the affective domain was 24 of the 30 students completed and psychomotor domains was 26 of the 30 students completed. This means that the indicator set had achieved success on the cycle II. From the research, it was concluded that implementing Project-Based Learning approach could improve student learning outcomes of chemistry.Keywords: Learning Outcome, Project-Based Learning, Purifying Of Table Salt

Abstract

Pendekatan Sains, Lingkungan, Teknologi, dan Masyarakat (Salingtemas) merupakan pendekatan yang dianjurkan dalam proses belajar mengajar sains ditingkat pendidikan menengah untuk mengatasi hasil belajar yang kurang memuaskan. Pendekatan Salingtemas memberi pembelajaran sains secara kontekstual sehingga siswa dibawa ke situasi memanfaatkan konsep sains ke dalam bentuk teknologi untuk kepentingan masyakarat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah pendekatan Salingtemas dapat meningkatkan kinerja ilmiah siswa kelas XI-IPA 3 SMA Negeri 2 Sumenep dalam pembelajaran kimia pada materi pokok larutan Asam dan Basa. Penentuan keberhasilan proses didasarkan pada diskriptor kualifikasi terhadap aktivitas belajar siswa, sedangkan penentuan keberhasilan hasil belajar ditemukan melalui ulangan harian. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) Siswa merasa senang belajar, ini dapat dilihat dari hasil observasi keaktifan siswa dalam kelas pada siklus kedua meningkat dan dari hasil respon/ minat terhadap penerapan pendekatan Salingtemas yang menyatakan mereka sangat berminat (28,6%), berminat (57,1%), dan kurang berminat (14,3%); (2) Penerapan pendekatan Salingtemas dapat meningkatkan kinerja ilmiah dan prestasi belajar materi pelajaran kimia khususnya materi pokok Larutan Asam dan Basa pada siswa kelas XI-IPA 3 SMA Negeri 2 Sumenep dengan ketuntasan klasikal 42 siswa (100%) dan daya serap 81,23%.Approach of Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (Salingtemas) is a recommended approach in teaching and learning of science secondary education level to overcome learning outcomes unsatisfactory. Salingtemas approach gives contextually science learning so that students brought to the situation utilizing scientific concepts in the form of technology for the benefit of society. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the approach can improve the performance of scientific Salingtemas class XI-IPA 3 SMAN 2 Sumenep in learning the subject matter of the solution chemistry of acids and bases. Determination of the success of the process is based on diskriptor qualification of the activity of student learning, while determination of the success of learning outcomes discovered through daily tests. The results from this study are: (1) The students were delighted to learn, it can be seen from the observation of active students in the classroom on the second cycle increased and the results of the response/ interest in the application of Salingtemas approach stating they are very interested (28.6%), interested (57.1%), and lack of interest (14.3%); (2) Application of Salingtemas approach can improve scientific performance and learning achievement in particular subject matter solution chemistry of acids and bases in class XI IPA 3 SMAN 2 Sumenep with classical completeness 42 students (100%) and the absorption of the course 81.23%.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out the influence of the Somatic Auditory Visual Intellectual (SAVI) learning model application by using CD interactive as media toward the hydrocarbon subject for the X grader of a Senior High School in Kudus for academic year of 2011/2012. The population of this study was X-3 up to X-10 class. Cluster random sampling technique was used to take the sample, and the result showed that X-10 was the experimental class and X-9 was the control one. Hypothesis test used biserial correlation and determination coefficient. This study showed that the cognitive score average of experimental class was 83.53 where as the control one was 78.09. The influence of cognitive learning outcomes was suitable with the biserial correlation coefficient 0.48 and the determination coefficient 22.94% with medium criterion. Influence of the affective and psycomotoric were showed descriptively from the average score of experimental class which was better than control one. The checklist proved that the students responses toward SAVI learning model application using CD interactive as media were good. From this study, it can be concluded that toward SAVI learning model application using CD interactive as media influence the students result in learning hydrocarbon material.Key Word: SAVI Learning Model

Abstract

This research was conducted with descriptive method to determine the results of assessment criteria for learning outcomes instrument in chemistry subject of class XI. The test include the analysis of the validity, difficulty index, level of matter, distractor effectiveness and reliability of the odd semester final examination in the academic year 2013/2014 chemistry subjects at a Public Senior High School of Ambarawa and a Public Islamic Senior High School of Suruh. Form of matter that is analyzed is multiple choice, with total 40 items. Based on the test results in Public Senior High School of Ambarawa, it is known that 27 items valid, by about C1/know up to C3/apply level. There are 3 tems was difficult, 12 items medium, and 25 items easy. Of the total 160 existing distractor items, 89 items classified distractor effective. Instruments classified as reliable because it has a reliability coefficient of 0.70. While the test results in Public Islamic Senior High School of Suruh, 28 items were classified as valid items by about C1/know up to C4/analyze level. There are 10 items was medium and 30 items easy. Effective distractor was 91 items. Instruments classified as reliable because it has a reliability coefficient of 0.81.Keywords: Assessment, Criteria, Instrument
