Abstract

This study aims to gain an overview of student weakness in explanation of procedures, symptoms observed, and the basic concepts in the lecture of electrometry based laboratory activities associated with the work culture and the development of inter-intrapersonal intelligence. This study used 30 subjects, they are chemistry education students who take courses in analytical chemistry lab instruments. Data were collected through preliminary tests in writing and oral questions during student reported observational data. The mean value for the explanation of the procedure, the symptoms observed, as well as the basic concepts are respectively 60, 61 and 59 (score 100). Practicum that lasts to this day do not give opportunity to develop inter-intrapersonal ability students such as information identification, information elaborating, discussions to develop and evaluate procedures, formulate new concepts and create reports. Therefore it is necessary to built the electrometry lecture-based lab activities that give students the opportunity to develop inter-intrapersonal intelligence which is also associated with the work culture of Java.Keywords: Electrometry, Inter-intrapersonal, Lab Activity, Work Culture

Abstract

Science process skills approach needed in effective chemistry learning. This can be done with the help of student learning media such as student worksheets which contribute to the development of students independence, skills, affective, cognitive, and psychomotor and personal abilities of students and further developed in the group, especially on the practical implementation. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the chemistry teaching science process skills approach with worksheets assisted that is applied to the teaching process of SMA N in Pemalang. The study design was a pretest and posttest control group. Samples were choosen by cluster random sampling technique, so the experimental class using science process skills approach aided student worksheets while the control class without learning science process skills approach. Data analysis used the left-mean difference test and t-test, cognitive learning outcomes were analyzed with statistical parametric, whereas the affective aspect, psychomotor and science process skills, were analyzed descriptively. The effectiveness of treatment is known from the results of gain test that using student’s pretest and posttest data. The gain results of the analysis of cognitive test is 0.79 for experimental class with a high criterion that indicates the level of understanding students are significantly different (high). The conclusion of this research is science process skills approach aided worksheets effectively to the achievement of student learning outcomes with classical learning completeness 86.09%.Keywords: Learning Effectiveness, Science Process Skills, Student Worksheets

Abstract

Quantum teaching learning model supported by QT(Quantum Teaching)-bilingual module emphasize optimization all multiple intelligences and learning style of students in learning activities with TANDUR frame. This research aimed to find out the effect of quantum teaching learning model supported by QT-bilingual module to the achievement of X grade students of SMA in Kedungwuni, how much the effect magnitude, and how student response. This research uses true experimental design with X.1 and X.8 classes as reasearch samples which determined by cluster random sampling technique. Data were collected through documentation, test, observation and questionnaire method. The results of hypothesis test analysis showed correlation and determination coefficient are 0.54 and 29.16%. The results of questionnaire stated that the students’ response is very good to quantum teaching learning model assisted by QT-bilingual module. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that quantum teaching learning model assisted by QT-bilingual module effects on student learning outcomes by achieving the medium level of effect with contribution is 29.16%. Students’ response is very good actually to quantum teaching learning model supported by QT-bilingual module.Keywords: Quantum Teaching, QT-Bilingual Module

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influence of applied practical implementation of Chemoentrepreneurship (CEP) oriented towards improvement learning outcomes on colloid chemistry subject of class XI high school students. The population of this study were all Science students of class XI of the high schools in Magelang, 2012-2013 school year. The design used in this study was pretest-posttest control group design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, obtained Science XI-3 as experimental class used practical methods applicable CEP oriented and Science class XI-2 as the control class. The results showed that there was an influence of applied practical implementation of CEP oriented towards thew improvement of student learning outcomes chemistry. The magnitude of the effect of applied practical implementation of CEP oriented towards improvement of student learning outcomes chemistry was 63.64%. The improvement of student learning outcomes in the experimental class in the high category with N-Gain value of 0.84 was greater than the control class with Ngain value of 0.51 was included in the medium category. Based on the results, it can be concluded that there are significant influence of practical implementation of CEP applicative oriented toward chemistry learning outcome of students in one high school in Magelang.Keywords: Applicative Experiment Method, Chemoentrepreneurship, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of problem solving learning with HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) oriented on the results of class X students of chemistry subject on the concept of electrolyte solution and redox. The population are 286 high school students of class X in Semarang. Sampling is done by cluster random sampling technique, one was selected as the experimental class and one as a control class. The average value of cognitive learning outcomes  1051  for experimental class 84.06, while the control class 77.60. Both classes are normally distributed and have the same variance, whereas the t test of the two-part generated -t table (-2.00)<t count (4.32)>t table (2.00) which means there is a significant difference between the two classes. On the right side of the t test obtained t count (4,32)>t table (1,67) which means that the average students cognitive learning outcomes experimental class was better than the control class. The results of the correlation analysis obtained r=0.5079, so it was significant with coefficient of determination of 25.79%, which means the use of problem solving learning with HOTS oriented has contribution 25.79% on the student learning outcomes, whereas 74.21% is explained by other variables. It can be concluded that the use of problem solving learning with HOTS oriented have positive effect on students learning outcomes. Problem solving learning can stimulate students higher order thinking skills such as critical and creative thinking.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan penggunaan Small Notes pada metode pembelajaran Preview Question Read Summarize Test (PQRST) terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas X Sekolah Menengah Atas. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Randomized Control-Group Only. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode dokumentasi, observasi dan tes. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji-t, uji koefisien determinasi dan uji ketuntasan hasil belajar. Rata-rata hasil belajar kognitif yang diperoleh kelas eksperimen I dan eksperimen II adalah 76,48 dan 76,71. Data hasil uji-t adalah 0,07 dengan nilai tkritis sebesar 0,063 dan taraf signifikan 5% sehingga dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa nilai thitung lebih besar dari tkritis. Data uji koefisien determinasi sebesar 24,1%. Dari data tersebut memberi kesimpulan penggunaan Small Notes berpengaruh sebesar 24,1% dan sisanya ditentukan oleh faktor lain. Persentase ketuntasan hasil belajar klasikal pada kedua kelas sebesar 62,8 dan 65,7. Dari data tersebut kita dapat menarik kesimpulan bahwa metode pembelajaran PQRST belum efektif terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas X MIPA pada materi pokok konsep reaksi reduksi-oksidasi. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of using Preview Queston Read Summarize Test learning method towards the outcome learning student in Xthgrade. The experimental design was used a randomized control-group. Data Collecton technique in this study are conducted by the documentation, observations and test method. Data analysis method used the t-count test, determination coefficient and completeness result tests. The average of cognitive learning outcomes which are obtained by experimental I and experimental II are at 76,48 and 76,71. The data from t-count test is 0,07 with tcritical 0,063 and siginificance level of 5% so it can be concluded that the value t-count is bigger than the critical t-value. The determination coefficient is 24,1%. It can be concluded that the use of Small Notes take the effect as 24,1% and the rest is determined by other factors. The percentage of classical learning completeness in both class are 62,8 and 65,7. The data on these results lead to conclusion that the PQRST method is not effectively yet to outcome learnings of student in Xth grade on the reduction-oxidation concept.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan Chemoentrepreneurship siswa setelah mendapatkan penerapan konsep koloid yang berorientasi Life Skill. Penelitian ini menggunakan Pretest and Posttest Design dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik Cluster Random Sampling, yakni kelas XI IPA 5 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPA 6 sebagai kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini dibagi menjadi 3 tahap yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan tahap akhir atau produk. Untuk kelas eksperimen, produk yang dibuat diserahkan sepenuhnya kepada siswa, sedangkan kelas kontrol telah ditentukan oleh guru. Untuk nilai akhir siswa adalah rerata dari nilai posttest, afektif, psikomotor, dan produk. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan rerata pretest kelas eksperimen adalah 37,24 dan kelas kontrol 35,03 sedangkan nilai akhir kelas ekperimen adalah 83,25 dan kelas kontrol 80,75. Pengaruh variabel bebas terhadap variabel kontrol sebesar 0,517 dikategorikan sedang. Peningkatan kemampuan chemo-entrepreneurship kelas eksperimen sebesar 57% sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 54%. Uji t nilai akhir mendapatkan hasil kemampuan chemoentrepreneurship kelas eksperimen lebih baik daripada kelas kontrol. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan konsep koloid yang berorientasi Life skill dapat meningkatkan kemampuan Cheom-entrepreneurship siswa, dan kemampuan Chemo-entrepreneurship kelas eksperimen meningkat sebesar 57% sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 54%. This study aims to determine the increase in the ability of Chemo-entrepreneurship students after getting the application of the concept of colloid, which is oriented Life Skill. This study used pretest and posttest design with a sampling technique using cluster random sampling, the grade XI science as an experimental class 5 and class 6 as a class XI science of control. This study is divided into three stages: preparation, execution, and the final stage or products. For the experimental class, products made entirely handed over to the students, while the control class has been determined by the teacher. The final value is the average of the grades students posttest, affective, psychomotor, and products. Based on the results, the average value of the experimental class pretest was 37.24 and 35.03 in the control group while the final value of the experimental class are 83.25 and 80.75 in the control class. The influence of independent variables on the control variables were categorized by 0.517. Improving the ability of chemo-entrepreneurship in the experimental class by 57% while the control class is 54%. T test at the end of the value that has been done to get the ability chemo-class entrepreneurship experiment proved to be better than the control class. Conclusions from this research is the application of the concept of colloid, which is oriented Life skills can improve students ability Cheom-entrepreneurship, and the ability Chemo-entrepreneurship in the experimental class increased by 57% while the control group only 54%.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the inquiry method assisted chemistry emodule toward the learning outcomes. Population in this study is XI-IA grader of Senior High School (SHS) student in Tegal for academic year 2011/2012. Determination of the sample with cluster random sampling system obtained two classes, both are XI-IA3 grader as a experimental group received treatment using the methods of inquiry method assisted chemistry e-module and XI-IA as a control group received treatment using conventional method assisted audio visual.The research data obtained by the method of documentation, tests, questionnaires, and observation. The results of the study showed that the experimental group had an average grade of 84.90 and a control group had an average grade of 74.03. Based on the analysis, the experimental group is better than the control group with t count (3.08)> t table (1.99). The conclusion of this research is the application of inquiry method assisted chemistry e-module effect on student learning outcomes on solubility and solubility product subject, which is indicated by the coefficient of correlation (rb) of 0.46 with the influence of 21, 61%Keyword: Inquiry Method, E-module Assisted

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of instructional strategies of project based learning module assisted on student learning outcomes on chemical material of solubility and solubility product. The population in this study was class XI PSIA student of a high school in Pemalang academic year 2011/2012. The sample in this study namely class XI PSIA 1 as experimental class with project-based learning modules assisted and class XI PSIA 3 as a control class with lecture learning with module-assisted.This study used a pretest and posttest comparison group design. Analysis results of the average differences in one right hand posttest learning outcomes at the level of 95% indicates that the average learning outcomes of experimental class greater than the control class. This result are evidenced by the estimated average test showed the average range of cognitive learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class respectively 78.51-82.29 and 74.05-79.15. The results showed that the classical learning mastery of experimental class was 67.50% and control class was 47.50%. Affective and psychomotor learning outcomes indicated that the experimental class are better than control class. The conclusions from this study were that the implementation of project-based learning with module assisted effectively increase the student learning outcomes.Keywords: Learning Outcomes, Module, Project Based Learning

Abstract

This study aimed to know the influence of the use of a learning model Probing-prompting assisted by structured worksheet on learning outcomes in an high school especially in the Hydrocarbon and Petroleum. Sampling is done by using purposive sampling technique. In the experimental class, learning used Probing-prompting assisted by structured worksheet, while in classroom control used conventional methods. After being given a different treatment and after post test was done, it can be concluded that students learning outcomes in class experiment is better than the control class, respectively 77 and 70. Based on the analysis of difference average learning outcomes, it obtained t count (4,074)> t table (1,669), so it can be concluded that the average  of learning outcomes in experimental class is better than the control class. In the test mastery learning, mastery percentage of experimental class reached 91.18% while control class reached 59.38%. Test correlation obtained biserial coefficient of 0.5638. It can be concluded that the learning model of Probing-prompting assisted by structured worksheet have significant effect on student learning outcomes on Hydrocarbons and Petroleum subject with contribution of 32%.
