Abstract

The research was conducted to compare the bentonit-H structures activated at temperature of 40 oC, 100 oC, and 300 oC with the time heating of 1, 2, and 3 hours, respectively. Its phsycochemical properties was measured using the infrared spectrophotometer, while the basal spacing was determined by XRD. The infrared spectra of activated bentonit-H showed the similarity at all wave number, but the value of %T was different. The maximum intensity indicated the similarity at 2 ? = 19,78576 o and 26,64257o so there are the small different of basal spacing. The bentonit-H heated at temperature of 40oC for 3 hours has opportunity to activated using the other method.

Abstract

Improving maximum absorbance (lmax) of b-(2-furyl) acrylic acid by modification structure had been done. The research was done on three stages, the first was activity test to b-(2-furyl) acrylic acid as the raw material of the sunscreen compound in vitro at several values of pH using UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The second was structure modification of â-(2-furyl) acrylic acid became octyl b-(2-furyl) acrylic and the last was activity test of octyl of â-(2-furyl) acrylic. Base on this research, b-(2-furyl) acrylic acid had wavelength of maximum absorption before pH conditioning was the same as that of pH 7, namely 295 nm. While it shifted to shorter value (290 nm) at pH 4,5,6 and to longer value (300 nm) at pH 8, 9. Abstract

The aims of research is to verify the earth crustal model through seismogram analysis of earthquake at the Sunda strain at 19 July 2006 10:57:36.8 UTC and to know the depth of upper layer (km), wave speed P (Vp), wave S (Vs) and medium density (Rho). Seismogram data was take from one station (XMI.AU) around epicenter which has distance of 436.4950 km from earthquake centre. The all data were analyzed using waveform 3 component and invertion method. The results of research showed that correlation and varian of reduction between observation seismogram and syntetic of earth crustal model producing as much as 91% and 82,67 %, respectively. The depth of first, second, thirth, fourth, and five layers were 1 km, 1 km, 3 km, 11 km and 17 km, respectively. The value of correlation and reduction varian resulted were better than the other earth crustal model. It showed that the earth crustal model used at around XMI station has high validity.

Abstract

The aim of research was to describe the results of mechanical test to plastic string made from polypropilene and calpet. The plastic string was made using extruder machine with variety of temperature (H1-H10). To produce the plastic string that strong, though, and elongation not excess (>24%) needed calpet higher (6-7)% from PP and the high hoven (155-175 oC). From the mechanical test, the plastic string that made from the mixture of PP, calpet and coloring agent of 93%:7%; 94%:6%; 97,2%:2%:0,8% showed the tenacity of 5.1 g/D; 5.9g/D and 4.6 g/D, respectively. The though and strength of plastic string showed the highest value at the tenacity of 5.9 g/D and calpet concentration of 6%. oC). Abstract

The acid dry soils of Central Lampung had high biodiversity of the phosphate-solubility microbial. There were 65 isolates of the microbial, consisted of 44 of mold and 21 of bacterial isolates, obtained. The present research purposes to characterize these microbial, including colony morphology, respiration, gram painting and formation of clear zone at the Pikovskaya medium enriched with P from Ca3(PO4)2 and sediment. Results of the trial revealed that the index value of these microbial were immeasurable by 2.40-6.25 and 1.05-3.50 for bacterial and mold at the Pikovskaya medium enriched by P from Ca3(PO4)2. At the same medium enriched with P sediment, the index values were 1.40 -3.30 and 1.07-2.08 for bacterial and mold.3(PO4)2 and sediment. Abstract

The propose of research was to compare the effectivity of UV-exposed and sunray-exposed SpLtMNPVs against the mortility of S. litura larvae. This experiment is designated in laboratory with completely randomized design for differentiating the effectivity of SpLtMNPV which have been 12, 16, 24 hours sunray exposed and 8 hours UV-C lamp to the mortality of S. litura F. larvae. There were 6 repetition for each group with the SpLtMNPV concentration as much as 107 PIBs/ml, so there are 24 experiment units. Each treatment includes 10 3rd instar of S. litura F. larvae. The results of research showed that sunray exposure has decreased the effectivity of SpLtMNPV viruses faster than UV-C exposure. This was showed through the fewer S. litura larvae has been killed by sunray exposed viruses than by the U.V. exposed viruses. On the 8th day application, there was only 52 - 55% larvae killed by sunray exposed viruses compared to 78% larvae killed by UV exposed viruses.rd instar of S. litura F. larvae. Abstract

The aim of research was to know the ability of polyploid Saccharomyces cerevisiae immobilized on mixture of Na-alginat and CaCl2 to conduct fermentation process to produce ethanol higher. Fermentation process was carried out twice namely for 48 hours and 96 hourrs. The results showed that the higher ethanol concentration was produced at the first and the second fermentation of 48 hours as much as 9.603%. While the first fermentation of 96 hours produced 6.987%2 to conduct fermentation process to produce ethanol higher. Fermentation process was carried out twice namely for 48 hours and 96 hourrs. Abstract

The aim of research was to study the role of ascorbic acid as inhibitor to corrosion rate of steel of St 37, a steel with low carbon that has strong and tough properties. That organic compound was adsorb on surface and form thin layer that able to protect metal from oxidation. Inhibitor activity of ascorbic acid showed the optimum value at concentration of 60 ppm and maceration time of 10 days with the decreasing of corrosion rate of 47,58 %. Thus ascorbic acid showed the significant effect as inhibitor the corrosion rate of the St 37 steel.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the degradation of procion red MX 8B contain pH effect and molar ratio to degradation it using pottasium ferrate. Synthesis and characterization of pottasium ferrate were performed before it was reacted with procian red MX 8B. The aqueous stability of pottasium ferrate at various pH values and some parameters which influenced the degradation process such as pH and molar ratio of dye:Fe(VI) have been studied. The progress of reaction was followed by UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The aqueous reaction of ferrate with procian red MX 8B was also investigated with a molar ratio of dye:Fe(VI) in the range of 1:1 – 1:5. The results showed that pottasium ferrate solution had a maximum stability at pH 9-10. The optimal pH for degradation of procian red MX 8B was 9.2 and molar ratio dye:Fe(VI) was 1:1. At this pH and molar ratio dye:Fe(VI) approximately 96.5% were degraded after 30 minutes. Degradation process of procian red MX 8B using pottasium ferrate was marked by the shifting of the wave lenght which it has shifted from 545 nm to 296.2 nm.
