Abstract

This study analyzes and describes how readers in Denpasar City decode discourse on Covid-19 news that has been encoded and published by the Tribun Bali. The method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive explanative type. The theory used in this research is Stuart Hall’s encoding and decoding theory. Based on the theory, the writer groups the informants into three reader positions based on the perception given, namely the dominant hegemonic, negotiation, and oppositional positions. Through research conducted on five informants, the authors found that messages that had been encoded by Tribun Bali journalists were not always decoded symmetrically by the five informants. The author also finds that the five informants are not always in the same position as readers in every discourse on the encoded news and the position of the reader that is most often occupied is the dominant hegemonic position. Abstract

study analyzed the role of pacalang in addition to the role in maintaining customary security but also played an active role during the Covid-19 pandemic in Banjar Adat Village Kelod Disarmament Service. The approach used in this study is qualitative with the analysis that uses the functional structural theory of Robert King Merton. That there is a manifet function of pacalang is to maintain security at the time of the traditional and cultural activities of hindu communities in Bali. While the latent function of the role of pacalang in the Covid-19 pandemic an active role in the role of socializing, educating, prevention and supervision role of the pacalang, namely the decrease in Covid-19 cases in Kelod Village, pacalang gaining experience. Meanwhile, the negative impact of pacalang involvement is that pacalang can be conflicts within the family and conflicts.

Abstract

This study analyzes the role of parents in child sex education as an effort to prevent child marriage in Batujai Village, Central Lombok Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive explanative type and analysis using the role theory of Biddle and Thomas. Through research that has been done, it is known that in practice what happened in Batujai Village that not all parents provide sex education to their children due to lack of understanding of parents to provide sex education to children. Parents who do not provide sex education hand over the responsibility for sex education to formal and informal educational institutions. As for parents who provide sexual education to children, it is carried out with preventive socialization methods, namely by giving advice or prohibitions to children and repressive socialization methods, namely by giving punishments, namely limiting children's association or confiscation of facilities provided to children. Abstract

Multicultural Education is a term that refers to the education of diversity. In Indonesia the implementation of multicultural education experienced several challenges, one of which occurred in schools affiliated with certain groups. SMA Dwijendra Denpasar is one example of a school based on Hinduism. this research used a qualitative approach with a type of descriptive-explanatory research taken through observation, interview, and document. The purpose of this research was to describe implementation of multicultural education in school based on Hinduism. Researcher found SMA Dwijendra Denpasar as school based on Hinduism can carry out the multicultural eduaction in their learning. Researcher also found during the implementation, SMA Dwijendra Denpasar faced some obstacle, but to overcome these obstacles, efforts are also made. Abstract

This research analyzes and explains the role of the Religious Harmony Forum (FKUB) in maintaining social solidarity among religious believers in Denpasar City. The approach used is qualitative with descriptive types and analysis using Emile Durkheim's theory of social solidarity. The life of urban communities shows some characteristics of social solidarity, especially organic solidarity. Based on the research that has been done, FKUB Denpasar City has played a good role, but not yet maximal because there are still religious conflicts, namely conflicts in the legality of mosque waqf land managers, theological conflicts, musala and church construction permits, and facilities supporting the process of worship. FKUB Denpasar City also faces obstacles, namely lack of supporting facilities, limited management time, and lack of community understanding of the rules and conditions in establishing houses of worship. Abstract

Thrift shopping is an activity that is now increasingly popular as a substitute or alternative in fashion consumption the existence of thrift shops that are increasingly spreading and the number of parties especially celebrities, are increasingly introducing this activity, causing thrift shopping to be increasingly popular, especially among teenagers, namely female students. A qualitative approach, descriptive explanatory type with James S. Coleman’s rational choice theory and Pierre Felix Bourdieu’s habitus theory were used to analyze this activity. Alternative consumption of fashion thrift according to the student of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Udayana University as an informant is the most rational action taken. This is in accordance with the objectives that have been set. Using a little capital but the maximum success of the action is a form of rationality of action for the informants. Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on a several of people's lives, starting from the economy, health, and socio-culture. Rational choice theory by James S. Coleman (1989) as a scalpel to analyze lifestyle changes during the Covid-19 pandemic through the gardening movement in Kesiman Kertalangu Village, East Denpasar District. In this case, the people of Kesiman Kertalangu Village are able to maximize plant seeds from the Green majalagu program and home yards as a priority.The Green Majalangu Program activity is the distribution of plant seeds, organic fertilizer, and polybags for free to members of the Green Majalangu group and the people of Kesiman Kertalangu Village. This program was successfully carried out by the community by selling the harvest and distributing the harvest to relatives to support their daily needs. In addition, the gardening movement also has an impact on people's lifestyles during the pandemic.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis peran perempuan dalam menciptakan ketahanan keluarga dengan kepala keluarga sebagai korban pemutusan hubungan kerja (PHK) pada masa pandemi Covid-19 di Desa Gedangsewu Kabupaten Tulungagung Jawa Timur. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan tipe deskriptif dan analisis menggunakan teori fungsional struktural dari Robert K. Merton. Melalui penelitian yang telah dilakukan, diketahui bahwa implikasi peran perempuan dalam menciptakan ketahanan keluarga di masa pandemi Covid-19 relatif besar dan memiliki dampak yang sangat kuat. Perempuan telah menunjukkan adaptasi positif terhadap berbagai permasalahan yang sedang dihadapi, namun mereka tidak memungkiri bahwa ada implikasi tak terduga terhadap peran perempuan, yang kebetulan mengiringi berbagai adaptasi positif untuk menciptakan ketahanan keluarga di masa pandemi Covid-19 ini. Kata Kunci: Peran, Perempuan, keluarga, Ketahanan Keluarga

Abstract

The focus of this research is to provide an understanding of the strategies carried out by tourism business actors in Tuktuk Siadong which is in Lake Toba tourist area during the Covid-19 pandemic. The method in this research is a qualitative research method. The theory used in this study is the theory of rational choice by James S. Coleman. The results of this study explain that the Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on tourism activities in the Tuktuk Siadong area. Restrictions on the movement of people affect the number of tourist visits to decrease drastically. The strategies carried out by the tourism industry are different, namely cutting the number of employees, utilizing digital platform innovations for online and offline promoyions, discounting prices, marketing delivery systems and increasing resources by farming and raising livestock. Other efforts are disconnecting the wifi network, reducing electricity use, reducing expenses and household needs.

Abstract

The Kusu Bue Rite is a cultural initiation ceremony or maturation process women before marriage. Women will be secluded or ruki inside small house called sao are. This study uses the theory of the rite of passage and the inauguration ceremony by Van Gennep (1987). Qualitative research data obtained with ethnographic research models, participants, observations, interviews, literature studies, and data analysis in order to processing field findings. The process of the kusu bue rite lasts for eight days and seven nights. The results of this study also found meaning in the implementation of Kusu bue rites against marriage. The Kusu Bue Rite inherits meanings which is beneficial for marriage in the typo tribal community in Naruwolo village namely the meaning of holiness, the meaning of education, the meaning of social, the meaning of morality, and Meaning of Unity and Unity.
