Abstract

Local government partnership is one of the strategic issues that recently adopted vastly by developed countries as well as developing countries. The trend of outsourcing or contracting out several public services to private sector or third sector increases in recent decade.  As a part of the New Public Management doctrine, local government partnership is another form of market oriented in providing public service in order to make better service, efficiency and effectiveness (value for money). Abstract

The objective of this article is to identify the determinant influencing the capital structure of manufactured enterprises in Jakarta Stock Exchange for the years 2001 - 2005. This study uses ordinary least square regression to test whether capital structure (proxy long term debt/total asset) is impacted by various variables, namely profitability, fixed asset ratio, ownership’s control and assets structure. Empirical results show that manufactured enterprises employ mostly long term liabilities to finance their operations. An ownership’s control and profitability also affects the way a manufactured enterprises its operations. Fixed asset ratio and assets structure seems to have no significant impact on the capital structure of Indonesian manufactured enterprises. Abstract

Saat ini teknologi informasi (TI) termasuk di dalamnya intranet, extranet dan internet telah memunculkan cara berbisnis baru yaitu e-commerce yang selanjutnya memper¬luas fungsinya menjadi e-business. TI tidak hanya merubah cara orang bekerja (the way peo¬ple work), tetapi juga merubah cara perusahaan bersaing (the way business compete). Bebe¬rapa penelitian telah dilakukan untuk mengukur keberhasilan implementasi aplikasi TI pada suatu perusahaan. Hasilnya  mengatakan, perusahaan-perusahaan pengimplementasi TI memiliki financial performance yang lebih unggul bila dibandingkan dengan pesaing-pesaingnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan bukti empiris mengenai terdapat ti¬daknya hubungan antara aplikasi TI dengan kinerja keuangan perusahaan pengaplikasi TI (pengaplikasi e-business) di Indonesia. Financial performance diukur dengan  menggunakan ROA DuPont karena rasio ini dapat mengukur tingkat pengembalian investasi. Hasil penelian ini menunjukkan kenyataan yang berbeda secara substansial dari penelian-penelitian penda¬hulunya yang dilakukan di Amerika Serikat, yaitu ditemukan tidak adanya hubungan antara aplikasi TI dalam suatu perusahaan dengan kinerja keuangannya. Perusahaan dengan pe¬ringkat yang tinggi sebagai pengimplementasi e-business belum tentu memiliki peringkat yang tinggi  pada financial performancenya. Hasil ini memberikan bukti empiris, bahwa aplikasi TI oleh perusahaan–perusahaan di Indonesia belum bisa diandalkan untuk meraih competitive advantage sehingga superior financial performance tidak dapat dicapai, tidak seperti yang telah terjadi di banyak perusahaan di AS.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang ada dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah faktor individu, budaya organisasi dan perilaku kerja berpengaruh terhadap kinerja. Untuk membuktikan hipotesis yang ada maka digunakan metode analisis jalur dengan bantuan program Sazham, yang hasilnya dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut: a) Faktor individu berpengaruh terhadap perilaku kerja dengan koefisien sebesar 0,13592, b) Budaya organisasi berpengaruh terhadap perilaku kerja dengan koefisien sebesar 0,43243, c) Faktor individu dan budaya organisasi secara simultan berpengaruh terhadap kinerja dengan perilaku kerja sebagai variabel intervening dengan koefisien sebesar 1,3251. Abstract

It is important that companies maintain their contractual relationships with their stakeholder groups. Therefore, a company’s strategy needs to accommodate these relation-ships and, consequently, there is a need for appropriate performance measurement to deter-mine how well the company serves its stakeholders. Based on a literature review, this paper seeks to observe current performance measurement models from the view of stakeholder theo-ry. Although broader performance measurement models have been introduced in response to the existence of stakeholders, these models still rely on financial indicators as primary measures whilst using operational indicators as complementary measures. However, these measures have recognized the importance of business performance not only to measure cur-rent outcomes, but also to influence future outcomes. Problems in implementing broader measures of performance include identification of relevant variables, relating action and re-sults, and translation of projects and activities into measurable terms.Keywords: stakeholder, performance measurement, maintaining quality

Abstract

        This study is concerned with: (1) the societies interest to Islamic banking in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta; (2) the area of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta that have still possibilities to developed Islamic banking. The research methods was conducted for data collecting with questionary and interview. The data analysis was conducted with (1) descriptive analysis by the frequency distribution, and. (2) the factor analysis. The factor analysis with Binary Logistic Regression technique was conducted for analysis the factors that influence societies interest to Islamic banking.         The result of research view: (1) the society interest to Islamic banking influenced by eight factors, that are: (a) Religiousity; (b) knowledge of existing Islamic banking; (c) Opinion about bank interest; (d) degree of education; (e) kind of job; (f) income level (about: 500.001 – 1000.000); (g) Preferency to Islamic banking, and (h) knowledge about product and Islamic banking mechanism. (2) the area have high rating for Islamic banking development is Sleman District. In other word, the Sleman district has potensial area for Islamic banking in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta.Keywords: Minat, Wilayah Potensial, Riba, Bunga Bank

Abstract

Wage is an important element in a company. For employes, wage reflects what they get from their service give to the company. Meanwhile it is, normally, a significant part of cost for most of company. This article highlights the importance of company to have a great attention on dispositional factors, such as positive affect (PA) and negative affect (NA)t, rather than situational factors in determining labor pay satisfaction. In the signal sensitivity perspective, dispositional factors give more deep information about   pay satisfaction of the employee.Keywords: Positive affect (PA), negative affect (NA), pay satisfaction, signal sensitivity.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is threefold. First, a comprehensive measure of production competence/manufacturing competence that assesses the level of support that manufacturing provides for the strategic objectives of a firm is developed. Second, hypotheses relating production competence to several financial measures of business performance are tested using data from a large sample of firms in the manufacturing industry. Third, the impact of business strategy both directly on performance and as a moderating variable in relation to production competence is analyzed. The results of the study suggest that production competence may have more of an effect on business performance for certain strategies than for others.

Abstract

This article presents the re-emergence of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) concept which nowadays become a positive trend in business world to use it as a source of sustainable competitive advantage. The concept has been re-emerging because of factors of globalisation, technology and media revolution, and terrorist attacks. This article also pre¬sents some parties which have capability to endorse business to implement CSR, such as gov¬ernment, community as well as business organizations, corporation itself and society. And in order to bring unimpair description, this article describes the implementation of CSR as cor¬porate strategic competitive advantage in Vodafone and Thiess.
