Abstract

The one which influences the price of telecommunication services is interconnection fee. In accordance with interconnection fee, the price determination depends on the types of competition. In symmetric competition and linear pricing, the price would be high because of the penchant of collusion and interconnection fee should be high. The opposite results occur when non linear pricing (two part tariff) is applied because all companies set the interconnection fee close to marginal cost. In asymmetric competition, the price tends to be low. However, the lowness of price caused by the application of predatory pricing by incumbent company and interconnection fee equals with marginal cost. After the entrants were expelled, the price will be higher. The government regulation toward interconnection fee could not be determined because it depends on the types of competition and the pricing linearity.Keywords: telecommunication, interconnection fee, competition, two part tariff

Abstract

        Business model is relatively a new term that emerged in 1990s together with the mushroom of e-business. Conceptually business model is therefore still in infancy. Despite this fact however it does matter (Magretta, 2002). Business model which is conceived as the logic of doing business, a construct, a mental model or a business paradigm, is considered a guide on how to do every day’s business.        Based on the above mentioned understanding, this paper based on action research study, discusses the implemention of the concept of business model on change management using the case of Universitas Islam swasta. The result indicates that changing business model will inevitably change the organizational architecture and governance.Keywords: business model, organizational architecture and governance.

Abstract

Since competition is becoming more and more intense, loyalty is beliefed as the guarantee of the existence of a firm in the long term. Having customer loyalty does not only mean be the owner of a certain level of market share, but also have possession of potential return in the long term. However, loyalty is fragile. Low price, fast moving and better products, and also product availability are among the aspects considered as the sources of switching behavior of the customers Experts say that satisfaction must not be assumed as the end of marketing efforts, but loyalty is. Satisfaction is the mediating variable of quality and loyalty, means that quality is fundamental for a service firm to build customer loyalty or long-term competitive advantage.Therefore, even for service companies which own loyal customers, it is better for them to cautiously and insistently maintain their customers so that they will not go away to competitors. Since customers’ needs and wants are always changing over time, the key aspect to keep customers satisfied is understand well any type of service that the customers really need and want.Keywords: customer satisfaction, customer loyalty, customer delight, elements of loyalty, inte¬grated communication.

Abstract

This paper discusses the main tasks of managers in exercising their power and in-fluence to transform the individual interest into coordinated activities that accomplish valu-able ends. It is argued that the humanity approach is very effective in exercising power and in-fluence. The nature of goal congruence, humanity approach in exercising power and influ-ence, reward versus punishment, management control by participation, and trust and self-control are examined. The success of goal congruence depends on whether managers perform and exercise their power and influence by totalitarian approach or humanity approach. Hu-manity approach suggests that in exercising power and influence, managers should develop humanitarian administrative customs. A humanity approach encourages managers to exercise their power and influence to create a workplace climate of open relationships, trust and hon-esty. If this method can be well applied the result will benefit all around, the organization, the managers, and the employees. Humanity approach suggests that management control should be reward oriented instead of punishment oriented because reward is more effective than pun-ishment to achieve goal congruence. Plans and budgets seem to be more effective tools to con-trol goal congruence if subordinate managers or staffs participate actively with their superior in the process of arriving plans and budgets. Finally, humanitarian control system suggests that trust should be delivered to subordinate managers and staffs in which they can perform self-control through delegated control systems and power distribution. Human beings tend to perform better jobs when they are controlled by themselves rather than by superior managers or other surveillance. Therefore, the humanity approach is very effective in exercising power and influence instead of totalitarian approach.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis tentang posisi Bank Jabar Ca¬bang Jakarta dalam persaingan saat ini, dan untuk mengkaji strategi yang telah ditetapkan, serta memberikan alternative strategi pemasaran bagi Bank Jabar sesuai dengan hasil anali¬sis yang akan diperoleh, terutama berkaitan dengan strategi pemasarannya. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan berdasarkan analisis SWOT diketahui nilai posisi Bisnis Bank Jabar Cabang Jakarta pada diagram SWOT berada pada kuadran I A. Kuadran ini meru¬pakan situasi yang sangat menguntungkan. Di samping itu dari 33 unsur penilaian faktor in¬ternal yang diamati, ternyata 24 unsur merupakan unsur kekuatan dan 9 unsur kelemahan. Sedangkan terhadap 25 unsur penilaian faktor eksternal, dihasilkan 17 unsur peluang dan 8 unsur ancaman bagi Bank Jabar Cabang Jakarta. Abstract

Fee based income merupakan pendapatan bank di luar pendapatan dari bunga kredit, yaitu pendapatan yang bersumber luar dari aktivitas utama jasa-jasa perbankan. Sum¬ber ini merupakan alternatif pendapatan yang cukup aman dari risiko. Penelitian ini meng¬gunakan uji statistik non parametrik Mann-Whitney dan uji regresi linier berganda. Data diambil berdasarkan banyaknya BPD di seluruh Indonesia yang bejumlah 26 bank. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan perbedaan perolehan fee based income antara BPD yang berbentuk PT dan yang berbentuk PD. Pendapatan provisi, komisi, dan fee; pendapatan transaksi valuta asing; kenaikan surat berharga; dan pendapatan lainnya ber¬pengaruh secara signifikan terhadap besarnya fee based income secara bersama-sama. Se¬dangkan variabel yang mempengaruhi besarnya fee based income secara individual hanya variabel pendapatan lainnya. Kata Kunci: Fee base income, Bank Pembangunan Daerah

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of leadership style is instructive, consultative, participative, and delegative jointly or partially on work motivation and employee performance, determine the effect of motivation on performance as well as determine the effect of motivation as a intervening variable between leadership styles on employee performance PT . Jamsostek (Persero) in Yogyakarta. The population in this study are permanent employees of PT. Jamsostek (Persero) Branch of Yogyakarta is located in Jln. Urip Sumoharjo 106 which are 32 employees. While the sample in this study using a census method for a total sample of 32 employees. Analytical model used in this study is a simple linear regression analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results found partial simultaneous leadership style and instructive, consultative, participative, and delegative to the motivation of employees of PT. Social Security Branch of Yogyakarta, There is a positive influence of motivation on the performance of employees of PT. Social Security Branch of Yogyakarta, There is a simultaneous influence of leadership style and a partial instructive, consultative, participative, and delegative on the performance of employees of PT. Social Security Branch of Yogyakarta, and the most influential leadership style is positively instructive to work motivation, whereas the most influential consultative leadership style positively to the performance of employees of PT. Abstract

Islamic financial industry is growing rapidly. Markets are increasingly appreciat-ing Islamic instruments, and more institutions are willing to provide Islamic services to their clients. However, development of Islamic financial products through appropriate processes of financial engineering has remained an important area of researches. Two issues are always faced by any Islamic financial products in one go, competitiveness and shariah compliance. Not only Islamically acceptable, but any Islamic financial product also must be competitive in order to attract market interest. This paper makes an attempt to systematically address vari-ous fundamental issues for engineering Islamic financial products. The principles and strate-gies for Islamic financial engineering is discussed in this paper. There are four principles for financial engineering, balance, integration, acceptability and consistency. Following these principles, three strategies can be implemented: imitation, mutation and satisfaction.Keywords: Islamic financial product, engineering, financial innovation, legal maximes

Abstract

This research purposed to investigate career commitment of academics’ staff in Private University of Yogyakarta based on gender perspective. A survey was conducted on 109 women and men academics’ staff in Private University of Yogyakarta. The research formulated two hypotheses, Firstly; there are no significant differences in career commitment between women and men academics’ staff in Private University of Yogyakarta. Secondly, wage structure, career development and work-home harmonization have significant impact toward career commitment both partially and simultantly.The Anova results showed that there are no significant differences in career commitment between women and men academics’ staff in Private University of Yogyakarta. This research also showed empirical finding that simultantly, all independent variables (wage structure, career development and work-home harmonization) have significant impact on career commitment with 95% of level confidence. But partially, only career development has significant impact toward career commitment. Career development has the biggest influenced toward career commitment compare to other variables. According that finding, this research recommended that institutions of private university in Yogyakarta need to formulate a career development policy for academics’ staff based on gender views.Keyword: career commitment, career development, wage structure and work-home harmonization

Abstract

Setelah berjalannya otonomi daerah sejak 1999, pola kepemimpinan yang dite¬rapkan di Dinas Kesehatan kota Yogyakarta telah membawa pengaruh tersendiri terhadap ke¬siapan para pegawai dalam menghadapi perubahan. Kesiapan menghadapi perubahan dipe¬ngaruhi oleh fenomena kepemimpinan yang berlaku di Dinas Kesehatan kota Yogyakarta se¬lama ini adalah gaya kepemimpinan trnsaksional dan transformasional.Hasil analisis yang telah penulis lakukan menunjukkan bahwa gaya ke¬pemimpinan yang dominan berlaku saat ini adalah gaya kepemimpinan transaksional. Ling¬kungan organisasi yang berubah sangat cepat maka perubahan diperlukan oleh Dinas Kese¬hatan kota Yogyakarta sebagai sebuah fenomena menyajikan alasan yang sangat rasional ke¬butuhan untuk belajar.
