Abstract

This article discussed about the concept of New Public Management and its im¬pact to the developing countries, i.e. Indonesia. As a global movement, New Public Manage¬ment became the paramount issues in modernizing management of public sector organization around the world. Besides New Public Management, there are several concepts of manageri¬alism in public sector, i.e Reinventing Government, Market-Based Public Administration, and Post-Bureaucratic Paradigm. All that concepts support managerial approach, as oppose to administration approach, in promoting public sector organization. In this article we explore the essence of New Public Management approach, the benefits and risks of NPM, and the problem faced by developing countries in implementing NPM.Keywords: New Public Management, Public Administration, Localized Contingency, Market Centered.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji apakah ukuran perusahaan, resiko bisnis, pertumbuhan aktiva, profitabilitas dan struktur kepemilikan berpengaruh terhadap struktur modal perusahaan. Dari pengujian terhadap perusahaan-perusahaan manufakturing yang terdaftar di Bursa efek Jakarta disimpulkan bahwa ukuran perusahaan, pertumbuhan aktiva, profitabilitas dan struktur kepemilikan berpengaruh positif sementara resiko bisnis berpenga¬ruh negatif terhadap struktur modal perusahaan secara signifikan.Kata Kunci:    Struktur Modal, Ukuran Perusahaan, Risiko Bisnis, Pertumbuhan Aktiva, Profi¬ta¬bilitas dan Struktur Kepemilikan

Abstract

Promotion via TV is believed to be effective for communicating advertising recall and information’s to consumers, but relatively high cost. This research is aim at examining the effectiveness of promotion via TV done by several facial soap producers: Biore, Ponds and Dove through Consumer Decision Model (DCM) perspective. From regression analysis we can find that advertising recall has positive affect to brand recognition, confidence, attitude and intention to buy; brand recognition has positive affect to consumer confidence and attitude; consumer confidence and attitude has positive affect to intention to buy; and confidence or attitude as intermediate variable to advertising recall and intention to buy. ANOVA analysis shows that there is a significant difference of consumer perception on advertising recall (Biore), brand recognition, and consumer attitude. There is no difference of intention to buy based on budged, age and consumer job. Keywords: promotion effectiveness, consumer decision model, consumer good

Abstract

This paper is to review earning management from the academic evidence and its implication for accounting standard setters and regulators. Definition of earning management is that it occurs when management use judgement in financial reporting and in structuring transactions to alter financial reports to either mislead some stakeholders about underlying economic performance of the company or to influence contractual outcomes that depends on reported accounting numbers. Previous research was done to identify manager’s reporting incentives and factors that inflluence earning management, management motivation in doing earning management and investor reaction to these practices and specific accurals that was used to manage earning. The implication for standard setters and regulators  is that academic findings should give insights on how far management is allowed to manage earnings. Key words: earning management, income smoothing, accruals

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan, pertama untuk mengetahui adakah pengaruh sistim penggajian, kinerja dan senioritas secara simultan terhadap kepuasan kerja karyawan Pertamina UP IV Cilacap; kedua, mengetahui adakah pengaruh sistim penggajian, kinerja dan senioritas secara parsial terhadap kepuasan kerja karyawan Pertamina UP IV Cilacap; dan ketiga, mengetahui faktor manakah di antara sistim penggajian, kinerja dan senioritas yang memiliki pengaruh dominan terhadap kepuasan kerja karyawan Pertamina UP IV Cilacap.Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut pertama, faktor-faktor sistem penggajian, kinerja dan senioritas secara simultan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terha¬dap kepuasan kerja karyawan Pertamina UP IV Cilacap. Kedua, faktor sistem penggajian dan kinerja secara parsial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kepuasan kerja karyawan Pertamina UP IV Cilacap. Ketiga, faktor senioritas secara parsial berpengaruh tidak signifi¬kan terhadap kepuasan kerja karyawan Pertamina UP IV Cilacap. Abstract

Basically, the role of human being in companies in tight competition situation like this time is to take the decision and yield the innovation which cannot be replaced by technology as sophisticated as any. Therefore human resource empowerment through learning is important be achieved because empowerment itself represent a way to: - entrepreneurship people; - sense of belonging Cultivation (Ownership); - shape the commitment (engagement); - Entangle the activity insider (Involvement). Human resource empowerment represent difficult concept to understand fully and hard in applying. However if human resource empowerment disregarded of course waste in the appliance which can make a company reach the efficacy in the future. Through learning, employee was expected to show a behavioral change in work, this behavioral always refer to what have been known or comprehended by employees in learning (knowledge), what they do (skills), what can they think (attitudes) and they were reflected on what they do (action).  Keywords: Human Resource, Learning, Empowerment, Behavior.

Abstract

Training research literature highlights that the ability of supervisors to play proper roles in training programs may directly increase job performance. More importantly, extant research in this field reveals that the effect of supervisor’s role in training programs on job performance is indirectly affected by motivation to learn. The nature of this relationship is less emphasized in training management literature. Therefore, this study was conducted to measure the effect of supervisor’s role in training programs and motivation to learn on job performance using 100 usable questionnaires gathered from technical employees who have worked in one city based local authority in Sarawak, Malaysia (MSCLAS). Outcomes of step-wise regression analysis showed that relationship between motivation to learn and supervisor role characteristics (i.e., support and communication) positively and significantly correlated with job performance. This result confirms that motivation to learn does act as a full mediat-ing role in the training model of the studied organization. Implications of this study to training management theory and practice, methodological and conceptual limitations, as well as future directions are discussed.Keywords: supervisor’s role in training programs, motivation to learn, job performance

Abstract

In a company of go public is often happened the conflict between of stockholder with the manager, where manager act as the function of management and stockholder as function of is ownership. The conflict causes go together the importance difference between manager with the stockholder. Stockholder of course wish the manager work with an eye to maximize the stockholder prosperity. on the contrary, company manager might possibly act do not to maximize the stockholder prosperity but maximizing themselves prosperity. This research test the simultan relation between ownership of manajerial, risk, with the debt and dividen. Sample research as much 69 company, taken with the method of purposive sampling that is only company owning the ownership of incoming manajerial as sampel. To reach the wanted target, this research use the metode two stage least square. Result of research show the existence of consistent relation usher its variable that is negative relation among ownership of manajerial with the risk, debt. Positive relation between ownership of manajerial by dividen, negative relation among risk with the debt and dividen, and also negative relation among dividen with the debt.Keywords: simultant relation, ownership of manajerial, risk, policy of debt and policy of dividend of agency problem

Abstract

The terms of global strategy, global industry and global competition have been used widely in the last 20 years. Today, the issue has changed, especially to discuss (1) strategic alliance and its role in the global competition, (2) typology of global strategies, (3) matrix structure implementation of organization that implement complex global strategies. Asian countries play important role in the world economic now. Asian economic growth and poverty increase significantly, sowed by theory and research. Key issue of Asian management change is the development of business partnership among Asian countries or between Asia and developed countries like European and America. Partnership creates large opportunity to do global cooperation. Globalization run faster supported by internet.
