Jurnal Siasat Bisnis (JSB) is a peer review journal published twice a year (January and July) by Management Development Centre (MDC)-Department of Management, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Islam Indonesia. JSB) addresses the broad area of management science and its applications in industry and business. It is particularly receptive to research relevant to the practice of management within the emerging regions and its effects beyond. Abstract

Tulisan ini mencoba memberikan kerangka pikir bagi manajemen SDM terhadap perubahan lingkungan bisnis yang akan kita hadapi di masa yang akan datang. Walaupun harapan selalu mengarah kepada kesuksesan, tetapi angkatan kerja dan lingkungan kerja telah berubah secara radikal, sementara kebanyakan struktur kerja tidak berubah dengan cepat. Di dalam penulisan artikel ini, penulis mencoba mengajukan suatu visi mengenai hubungan kerja dengan fleksibilitas dan keinovativan, partnership, dan powersharing terhadap perubahan lingkungan bisnis serta tuntutan pekerjaan yang telah terjadi dewasa ini. Tujuannya adalah suatu lingkungan di mana semua anggota organisasi mempunyai sense of community dan sense of belonging.

Abstract

This research examine the impact of Independent Commissioner and Independent Audit Committee to reduces information asymmetry around earnings announcement. The sample of this research is the firms that included Indonesian Capital Market Directory (ICMD) 2007. Based on purposive sampling method, the sample is 86 firms during the period of 2004–2006. The results of this research show that independent commissioner has a significant impact to the reducing of asymmetry information. Independent Audit Committee is not indicate has an impact and a correlation to asymmetric information, like the independent commissioner. Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of the celebrity’s use in the advertisement. It, specifically, analyses the effect of credibility of the celebrity on the attitude toward the advertise-ment and the purchase intention. By using structural equation modelling with one congeneric measurement approach, this study indicates that from three dimensions of celebrity’s credibility, only attractiveness does not have significant influence on the attitude toward the ads. The other two dimensions that are trustwothiness and expertise have positively and significantly affect the attitude toward the ads which in turn enhances significantly the purchase intention. Additonally, it also finds that the effect of attitude toward the ads on purchase intention is so small indicating there some factors affecting the purchase intentionKeywords: credibility of the celebrity, attractiveness, trusworthiness, expertise

Abstract

The objective of this research is to find out the effect of role ambiguity, role conflict, role overload,  and work-family conflict on emotional satisfaction, the effect of emotional satisfaction on service quality, and gender moderation on the effect of emotional satisfaction on service quality. This research was conducted in Dr. Moewardi General Hospital. The research design used in was survey research. The population of this research was all nurses of Dr. Moewardi General Hospital. The sample consisted of 106 nurses taken using purposive sampling technique. The independent variables were role ambiguity, role conflict, role overload, work-family conflict, and emotional satisfaction. The dependent variables were service quality and emotional satisfaction, while gender was a moderating variable. Methods of analyzing data used in this research were multiple regression, simple regression, and subgroup analysis before which the instrument tests were conducted including validity and reliability tests. A multiple regression examined the effect of role ambiguity, role conflict, role overload, and work-family conflict on emotional satisfaction. Simple regression examined the effect of emotional satisfaction on service quality and subgroup analysis examined the moderation of gender on the effect of emotional satisfaction on the service quality. The result of this research showed that: (1) Role ambiguity, role overload, and work-family conflict affected the emotional satisfaction significantly and negatively while the role conflict did not affect significantly the emotional satisfaction, (2) The emotional satisfaction affected positively the service quality, (3) Gender did not moderate significantly the effect of emotional satisfaction on service quality.

Abstract

The objective of this study was proving the influences of insider ownership, debt policy and dividend policy to firm value at companies listed in Malaysia Stock Exchange and Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2003 to 2008. This study used multistage regression to reach the objective. The results indicate that in Malaysia, insider ownership and debt policy have an effect to dividend policy but have not a significant effect to firm value and in Indonesia, insider ownership and debt policy have not an effect to dividend policy and dividen policy also not have an effect to company value. Beside that the Malaysian and Indonesia investors do not use a dividend policy as a positif signal because many firms give dividend although they have not profit. Abstract

The goal of this research is to identify factors that influences: organizational readiness, the external pressure, the ease of using, and final factor benefit that can be obtained from the use of e-commerce in SMEs Creative Industries in Jabodetabek.Our analysis demonstrate that there is a relationship between the organizational readiness, external pressure, the ease of using, and the benefits of e-commerce in SMEs Creative Industries in Jabodetabek city (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi), Indonesia. In addition, the research found that when e-commerce was applied both the organizational readiness improved, and provided a clear benefit to the SMEs that adopted it. On the other hand, the external pressure and the perceived ease of use did not prove to have any significant effect in SMEs Creative Industries in Jabodetabek.

Abstract

AbstractInvestment in information technology (IT) implementation in organizations tends to increase manufacturing in Indonesia. Various studies show that implementation of IT that is applied has a major impact on company performance. This study aims to answer, whether at manufacturing organizations in Indonesia, the implementation of IT is applied and competencies have an impact, both directly and indirectly to the performance. The sample of this study is a company registered in the Department of Industry and Trade in East Java, which apply information and communication technologies in local area network. There are 117 companies with 500 employees or more participated in this study. Data were analyzed using SEM, with the application of SPSS and AMOS. The results of this study indicate that the more complete implementation of information technology applied in the company, and the higher the competence of knowledge in information technology, the higher the company's organizational performance is achieved.Keywords: Implementation IT, Competence IT, Organization Performance.AbstrakPenerapan investasi di bidang teknologi informasi (TI) dalam organisasi perusahaan cenderung meningkat di Indonesia. Berbagai penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi TI yang diterapkan memiliki dampak besar pada kinerja perusahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjawab, apakah implementasi kompetensi TI di organisasi perusahaan di Indonesia memiliki dampak, baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung terhadap kinerja. Sampel penelitian ini adalah perusahaan yang terdaftar di Departemen Perindustrian dan Perdagangan di Jawa Timur yang mengaplikasikan informasi dan teknologi komunikasi dalam jaringan area lokal. Ada 117 perusahaan dengan 500 karyawan atau lebih berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan SEM, dengan aplikasi SPSS dan AMOS. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa implementasi teknologi informasi yang lebih lengkap di perusahaan disimpulkan semakin tinggi kompetensi pengetahuan dalam teknologi informasi, maka kinerja organisasi perusahaan yang tercapai semakin tinggi.Kata kunci: Implementasi TI, Kompetensi TI, Kinerja Organisasi.

Abstract

This paper attempts to explain in detail the role of the state, especially in developing countries, to promote corporate recovery during the economic crisis period. In so doing, first, the paper illuminates several important reasons why the state has to intervene in the case of economic crisis. It seems that the whole process of corporate turnaround has to be initiated by the state and hence it is called state-led corporate restructuring. Second, the paper intents to explain three stages of corporate turnaround: restructuring preparation, financial sector restructuring, and corporate restructuring, followed by an explanation of corporate restructuring techniques usually used by the state. Finally, the paper shows how the state should exit from the market.Key words: state, intervention, recovery, crisis.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of market orientation, leadership, organizational innovation and organizational performance in handycraft industry in Bukittinggi City, Pariaman City, Padang Pariaman Regency, and Pesisir Selatan Regency. This research uses quantitative methods, while the sampling technique using Purposive sampling with sample size of 86 craft companies. The criteria assigned to the respondent is the handycraft business that produce and market their own product. In this study, data were collected through the questionnaire of the owner of the handycraft industry. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) method with SmartPLS software. This research uses multidimensional constructions first order reflective and second order formative. Based on the data analyzed it can be concluded that leadership has a significant positive effect on business performance. This is evidenced by the two dimensions of leadership (Transactional leadership and transformational leadership) is able to explain the performance of the organization well. In addition, market orientation  have 3 dimensional (Customer orientation, resource orientation, and competitor orientation) is also able to give influence to organizational performance and organizational innovation. However, organizational innovation is not able to give a significant influence for the performance improvement of handycraft industry. It can be concluded that organizational performance in handycraft industry is influenced by market orientation conducted on consumers and competitors. And also the most important factor is how the attitude of leadership owned by the owner of handicraft industry in managing and running the business, in order to craft products in accordance with customer tastes.

Abstract

AbstractAlthough research on diversity management team had been widely conducted, previous research defined diversity in many different ways and many studies focused their research on top management team of big companies and big industries. This study examined the influence of several type of diversity of top management team on decision-making comprehensiveness and social integration, and tests these last two variables on performance. Using data Rural Banks (banking industry), the results showed that several variables of diversity of top management team affect decision-making comprehensiveness and social integration. The study also confirmed that the company's performance is affected by decision-making comprehensiveness and social integration.Keywords:Team Management, Diversity, Decision-Making Comprehensiveness, Social Integration, Performance.AbstrakMeskipun penelitian mengenai diversitas tim manajemen sudah banyak dilakukan, tetapi penelitian yang lalu mendefinisikan diversitas dengan cara yang berbeda-beda dan banyak berfokus pada tim manajemen puncak perusahaan besar dan industri besar. Penelitian ini menguji pengaruh variable-variabel diversitas tim manajemen puncak perusahaan terhadap kekomprehensifan pengambilan keputusan dan integrasi sosial, serta menguji dua variable terakhir ini pada kinerja. Dengan menggunakan data Bank Perkreditan Rakyat (industri perbankan), hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa beberapa variable diversitas manajemen puncak mempengaruhi kekomprehensifan pengambilan keputusan dan integrasi sosial.Penelitian juga mengkonfirmasi bahwa kinerja perusahaan dipengaruhi oleh kekomprehensifan pengambilan keputusan dan integrasi sosial.Kata Kunci:Tim Manajemen Puncak, Diversitas, Kekomprehensifan, Pengambilan Keputusan, Integrasi Sosial, Kinerja Perusahaan.
