Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to analyze the influence of sociodemographic characteristics to the self-efficacy on women of poor households (WPH) in implementing economically productive activities. The study was conducted at Surakarta, using a survey approach. Samples were taken by multistage random sampling technique. Quantitative data were analyzed using multiple regression models. The results showed that the factors sociodemographic characteristics: age, formal education, and the number of family dependents significant affect on self-efficacy of WPH in conducting productive business at significance level α = 0.10, whereas the non-formal education and long effort had no significant affect. Goodness of fit test results of multiple linear regression model showed that the sociodemographic characteristics collectively have the affect of 28.6 percent.

Abstract

Abstract: The objectives of this study were: (1) to understand the development of domestic rice prices at the national level, (2) to identify factors that influence the domestic rice prices at the national level, and (3) to determine the factors that affect the availability of rice at the national level. The data used in this research was secondary data obtained from the BPS, BULOG, and FAO statistics. The data obtained were systematically recording in the form of a time series data since 1979 until 2008 at the national level. The model used in this research is simple regression equation or the Ordinary Least Square (OLS). This model was used to identify trends and the factors affecting the price and availability of rice nationwide. Regression equations estimated to test the functionality of R2, the F-test, t-test, and D-W.The results of this study indicate: (1) the rate of growth of retail rice prices at the national level has increased in the positive trend, (2) the domestic rice prices at the national level is influenced by the base price of grain and world rice prices, and (3) the availability of long-term national from the year 1979-2008 rice prices was influenced by domestic supply, exchange rate farmers, the harvested area, and the availability of rice before and after the moneter crisis. The availability of rice in the short term before and after the crisis were influenced significantly by harvested area, at the time of pre-crisis (1979-1997) and by domestic supply, farmers exchange rate, and the harvested area, on the time after the crisis (1997-2008).

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this studi was to examnine factors that influence the production of soybean corp in the village Kebonagung, District Tegowanu, Grobogan city. In this study, the data used is primary data and secondary data. The primary data collected from soybean farmers and the secondary data collected from BPS, Departement of agriculture and related parties. The analytical tool used is OLS (Ordinary Least Square) regression analysis , using t test, F test and the coefficient of determination. The result showed that individually factor that influence the production of positive and significance impact on soybean production is land and seed production factors, while the factor of production of fertilizer and labor are not significant to soybean production. Jointly test for the influence of factor of production used the result show that the factor of production are used (land, seed, fertilizer and labor) jointly affect the level of soybean production. Coeffisient determination showed 72,3 % variation output can be explaine by the factors of production are included in the model, there are land, seed, fertilizer and labour.

Abstract

Abstract: Food is a commodity that is very strategic and always needed by the community. Therefore the food supply must be guaranteed to meet the needs of the community. The agricultural sector has a very important role in the national food supply. Dominant contribution of the agricultural sector particularly in strengthening food security. Respect it is necessary to find a solution to support the improvement of food security programs geared to meet the food needs of the community. To support the activities of the program has been carried out assessment of business opportunities through farming fish rice to increase farmers’ income. In the implementation of this study by utilizing irrigated land area of 1 hectare for rice farming and business varieties Sidenuk of fish nila. Data type of the data collected primary and secondary data. To support the study used a SWOT (Strenght, Weakness, Oppotrtunity and Threath) analysis, while for the feasibility analysis used R/C ratio and B/C ratio. The study showed that agribusiness fish rice farming can provide an additional net profit of 7,165.250 million (35.29%), with the R/C ratio of 2.97 and B/C ratio of 1.97.Based on the assessment results, the agribusiness farming fish rice developed feasible.

Abstract

Abstract : Rice is the strategic commodity as the main foodstuff and the source of the income of most rural households. The application of cultivation technology played an important role towards the increase in the production and the productivity of lowland rice. Therefore, the application of the innovation of recommendation technology in the level of the farmer was the strategy in the increase program in the production of the national rice towards the continuous self-sufficiency. This research was carried out during 2012 in the Sidrap Regency and Luwu, Provinsi South Sulawesi with the survey method. The primary data was gathered through the interview to the respondent’s 80 farmers with the questionnaire structure filling. The data was processed with cross tabulation and the level of the appropriateness of the farming was measured with Gross B/C the ratio and profitability. Results of the research showed that adoption of rice technology in the farmer level was adopted with technology recommendation. The analysis of benefit and cost to get gross B/C > 1, based on that the farming of lowland rice in the research territory gave the profit and economically appropriate was made an effort operation.

Abstract

Abstract: Sago is a potential source of carbohydrates which can be utilized for food diversification to reduce the burden on rice, which is currently not used optimally. One of the processed products from sago which is widely known by the people of Riau Province is sago noodle. This study aims to: (1) analyze the marketing strategy for sago noodles and (2) determine the consumers’ perception on sago noodles in Pekanbaru city and Selat panjang Selatan village, District of Tebing Tinggi, Kepulauan Meranti Regency. The research was conducted at sago noodle producers (cottage agroindustries) area in Selatpanjang Village, as this village is the sago production center in Meranti Regency. The results showed that the producers believe sago noodle is a well-known product and they did not conduct specific marketing strategies, as such that no special promotional efforts have been done to increase consumers’ interest to purchase their sago noodle products. The consumers considered sago noodle could serve as a staple food especially for breakfast, other than as snackfoods and as additional dishes at family gatherings. Based on the frequency of purchase, consumers at Kepulauan Meranti Regency purchased sago noodle more often than consumers at Pekanbaru city. Therefore there is a potential market open for sago noodle marketing to Pekanbaru city and outside Riau Province. Thus, the promotional strategy to introduce sago noodle is very important to increase the consumption of sago noodle, especially for the people in Pekanbaru City and outside Riau Province.
