Abstract

Surau is a traditional institution of education in Minangkabau which has important role in developing Islam. In Islamic local discourse, surau became a center of order (tarîkah), the center for excellenceand for defending to criticize the another untrue ideology of Islam. In this context, syaikh from each surau write the manuscript  to critisize the untruth ideology of Islam or social condition. There are four surau located in Padang and Padang Pariaman where many manuscripts can be found. The manuscripts are culturally important since they are related to the daily religious needs of the disciples of the order of Syattariyah in both places. This is related to the beliefs that to know about the guru, to posses the book, or to listen to the stories about the ulema, the guru  of the order of Syattariyah are essential. Besides, the manuscripts are written to criticize opinions of the other Islamic schools whichare not appropriate according to the writer’s Islamic perception.Kata Kunci: tradisi pernaskahan Islam, surau, tarekat Syattariyah, Minangkabau

Abstract

Education decentralization in Indonesia provides new atmosphere in managing and improving the school curriculum. The reason is that schools are provided with broad apportunity to manage education based on the school-based curricuculum. In other words, the authority to manage education-which was formally under the Centre Government-is recently under the authority of each  school.It is in this context that the Government of  Indonesia through the National Education Department views that there should be  authonomy for schools to managing curriculum.Kata Kunci:    pengembangan kurikulum, Kurikulum Berbasis Madrasah, desentralisasi pendidikan, otonomi sekolah

Abstract

Perkembangan zaman telah menyebabkan terjadinya perubahan dalam hal tuntutan masyarakat muslim terhadap pendidikan. Oleh karena itu, para pemikir dan praktisi pendidikan perlu melakukan pembauran dalam  mengelola pendidikan Islam yang sesuai dengan tuntutan tersebut. Perlunya dilakukan pembaruan dalam pendidikan Islam tentu saja sangat penting karena masyarakat muslim semakin selektif dalam memilih lembaga pendidikan bagi anak-anak mereka, mulai dari tingkat taman kanak-kanak sampai ke tingkat perguruan tinggi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, dalam menghadapi perubahan tuntutan tersebut, para praktisi pendidikan Islam harus melakukan revevaluasi keberadaan pendidikan Islam demi masa depan umat Islam yang lebih baik.Kata Kunci: Islamic education, modernization, Islamic school for excellence, curriculum development

Abstract

This paper deals with the method and technique of teaching ta’bîr shafawî (oral expression). The instruction of speaking skill is one of the essential parts of in the teaching of foreign language. In many educational institutions, the teaching of speaking skill seems to be more dominant than other skills. The objective of teaching ta’bîr shafawî is to develop students’ competence to communicate using target language in real-life situation. A mastery of grammar in teaching ta’bîr shafawî is not emphasized, but it focuses more on reproducing expressions in accordance with the context. The main objective of teaching ta’bîr shafawî is to be proficient in communicating ideas and messages to other people.Kata Kunci:    ta`bîr  shafawî, metode, teknik, pengajaran bahasa Arab

Abstract

This paper deals with Ibn Khaldun and his theory of circle (cyclical theory). This theory is based on historical realities in nomadic societies and also urban societies which have their own social solidarity, organizational structure and civilization. From this fact, he is known as the first figure who construct scientifically the methodology of the history of human thought, so that history can be developed both as science and philosophy. Abstract

In line with regional authonomy, an authonomy in education through the concept of decentralisation has become a national agenda. In effect, this requires serious attention from the local government. In this era, local government, which has a strong political will to implement an authonomy in education, will be able to improve the quality of education independently. This, in turn, will support local development which is relevant with local needs and potentials. Otherwise, the local government, that is not concerned with this issue, will be reluctant in improving the quality of education. Abstract

This article deals with Tafsîr al-Azhâr from biographical and methodological perspectives employing historical method. Hamka started writing this Tafsîr al-Azhâr  in 1959 than convoyed it as a down lecture in the Mosque of al-Azhâr. He completed the writing of this book of al-tafsîr when he was  being jailed. This book of al-tafsîr consists of thirty chaptersl. After analyzing the contents of the book of al-tafsîr, the writer found that Hamka employed rational method with literature and social patterns based on the school of Islamic orthodoxy and Islamic free act.Kata Kunci:    Hamka, Tafsîr al- Azhâr, tafsir bi al-ma'tsur,  tafsir bi al-ra'y, metode tahlilî,  corak penafsiran adabî, corak penafisran ijtimâ’î

Abstract

In  psychological point of view, whatever occurs in an adult is influenced by his or her life condition in his or her adulthood, particularly in the first years of his or her age. The offspring and milieu give a major influence to the formation of  attitude and of behavior of a child. A child’s personality will be positive whenever he is in a healthful family and social milieu. It is the two that form the healthful personality of the child. The healthful personality, in psychological point of view, is one that can manage himself, others and his milieu. Healthful personality in relation to oneself, possesses ten characteristics; that in relation to other people, possesses two characteristics; This article deals the comparison between  healthful personality from the view of psychology and that of the Qur’an.Kata Kunci:  pribadi sehat, konsep konseling, konsep Alquran

Abstract

One of the operational components of Islamic education as a system is education material that is the entire learning materials taught to students in the Institutional System of Education. Education material, which is more popularly called curriculum, will continually change because of the change and development of thought of human beings. Therefore, to anticipate the change, a skill in curriculum development is extremely needed. In other words, the Islamic Education Institution must be able to anticipate the problem without forgetting the essence of the Islamic teachings themselves. Abstract

This article elaborates some aspects of reformation of the family law as the results of  the ijtihâd of Indonesian experts. Nevertheless, not all of their legal thoughts are described in this article except for the family law material that has become the positive law in Indonesia. In elaborating those aspects of reformation of the family law, the author employs a comparative analysis and a culture social and judicial approach. Having conducted a comparative analysis the author found that there were -at least- 12 items of modifications and of reformation of the Islamic family law in the Indonesian family law, both in marriage, inheritance, will and bequest.Kata Kunci: pembaruan hukum, hukum keluarga Islam
