Abstract

As a center for Islamic studies, countries in the Middle East Region (including Saudi Arabia and Iran) have not been replaced in the eyes of Muslims, especially Indonesia. However, these students abroad do not only adopt their scientific studies, but they also tend to adopt the prevailing ideology and culture there which may not be fully applicable in Indonesia. This type of research is library research because it is entirely produced from literature studies, namely studying library materials/literature related to research problems. While the approach of this research is a descriptive qualitative approach, namely by describing the entry of ideology and culture from Saudi Arabia and Iran to Indonesia through graduates who have studied in these two countries. The purpose of this research is to find the problems and solutions of Saudi Arabian and Iranian graduates in the context of ideology and culture. The results of the research show that there are three things graduates from the Middle East including from Saudi Arabia and Iran can contribute positively to this nation, namely: first, emphasizing the values of love for local culture; secondly instilling religious insight as a whole; and third, negotiations between outside ideology and culture and local culture and ideology.Abstract:As a center for Islamic studies, countries in the Middle East Region (in this case including Saudi Arabia and Iran) have not been replaced in the eyes of Muslims, especially Indonesia. Abstract

Disasters are events that have an impact on death, material loss, and deep psychological trauma for disaster victims. To minimize the impact of major disasters, disaster education is needed for the community, especially those living in areas prone to earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods and landslides. This research seeks to find the concept of disaster education from the perspective of the Qur'an. The method used in this research is qualitative with literature review, and the method used is maudhu'i interpretation or thematic interpretation. The results of this study indicate that disaster education from the Al-Qur'an perspective is an effort to provide knowledge about disaster issues based on the Al-Qur'an. Disaster Education from Al-Qur'an Perspective is carried out by introducing the community to disasters and their types, such as earthquakes in QS. Al-A'raf [7]: 78, the volcano erupts in QS. An-Naml [27]: 88, tsunami in QS. Al-Infitar [82]: 3, flood in QS. Al-Ankabut [29]: 14, drought in QS. Yusuf [12]: 48, and infectious disease outbreaks in QS. Al-Anfal [8]: 133. Furthermore, providing disaster prevention education by inviting the public to protect the environment from damage in QS. Al-A'raf [7]: 56. So try to save yourself from a life-threatening disaster in QS. Al-Baqarah [2]: 195. Pray when disaster strikes in QS. Ar-Rum [30]: 33, don't give up in facing disasters, and remain optimistic about life after disasters in QS. Az-Zumar [39]: 53. Furthermore, providing assistance to disaster victims both material and immaterial (prayers) in QS. Al-Maidah [5]: 2. Disaster education in the Qur'an uses informative and solutive language. Keywords: Education, Disaster, and the Qur'an

Abstract

The shift in the democratization of education has been influenced by the decentralization of education in Indonesia since 2001. The shift in the dominance of education management from centralized to decentralized can also be seen within Islamic educational institutions. Democracy can be seen, among others, by applying the concept of community-based education in a national education administration organized by Islamic institutions. Data were obtained through interviews, participatory observation and document study. Interviews were conducted with key informants: the principal, teachers, parents, students and the user community. The characteristics of democratization in Islamic schools generally begin with a dialogue between democracy and Islamic teachings. The acceptance of democracy in Hj Isriati's institution is understood as a concept that aligns with Islamic teachings (humanistic model). The acceptance of democracy in Al-Azhar school can be classified into integralistic democratization. Democratization in Islamic schools in Semarang city in managerial aspects is generally based on competitive and professional aspects. This is because Islamic schools are private schools whose funding sources are mostly from the stockholder community, which demands high competition and professionalism to exist in the community. Democratization in the aspect of learning in Islamic schools is generally based on Islamic characteristics and becomes the most prominent feature in democratization in the aspect of learning.

Abstract

This paper seeks to shed light on the debate of scientists about the nature of knowledge, its character and sources. The Qur'an is a source of epistemology whose truth cannot be doubted within Islamic tradition. Tracing the function and several verses thematically by analyzing them within the framework of philosophical interpretation, the researchers found that the Qur'an very intensely calls for thinking, contemplating, conducting research and, of course, reading. This research aims to discover in depth the epistemology of Islamic education in the Qur'an and its urgency in the development of Islamic education. This research took a qualitative approach that employed document analysis to obtain data. The results of this study are: (1) Western epistemology consists of rationalism and empiricism schools, while Islamic epistemology consists of bayani schools, burhani schools and 'irfani schools; (2) The approach method in Islamic education's epistemology in the Qur'an consists of rational, intuitive, dialogic, comparative, criticism and 'ibrah methods; (3) The urgency of Islamic education's epistemology in the development of education is to reform Islamic education without eliminating Islamic idealism.

Abstract

This library study aims to examine the effect of Islamic education philosophy on the emotional intelligence development of Muslim students. This study highlights the potential synergy between Islamic education philosophy and the components of emotional intelligence through a systematic review of relevant literature. Existing literature suggests that the Islamic education philosophy, with its emphasis on moral values, character development, self-awareness, and interpersonal skills, can foster emotional intelligence in Muslim students, although few empirical studies investigate this relationship specifically. The findings highlight the need for additional empirical research to establish causal relationships and identify effective strategies for integrating Islamic education principles into educational practices to improve emotional intelligence. Future studies can contribute to evidence-based practices that promote emotional intelligence within Islamic educational contexts by incorporating cultural and contextual factors and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, thereby enhancing the overall well-being and success of Muslim students.

Abstract

Women's education within families plays a crucial role in shaping the perception of the ideal woman in society. This study explores female education within the Sasak, Samawa and Mbojo (Sasambo) tribes in West Nusa Tenggara. A descriptive qualitative approach using phenomenology is used in the research. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentary studies that involved cultural/community leaders and several female community members aged at least 18 years. The results of this study indicate that the educational materials in the three tribes reveal the significant impact of local culture in determining the educational methodology employed. Though each tribe's education features varying elements, they all express cultural, traditional, and religious values in their approach. However, in terms of gender equality and equity, several noteworthy limitations to women's education were revealed in these three tribes. These encompass customary expectations linked to women, societal restrictions that curtail women's autonomy and liberty, and gender responsibilities that do not grant equitable options for women. To address these challenges, the research proposes various actions, including fostering educational programmes that enhance the empowerment of women, encouraging more flexible sharing of roles, respecting women's educational and career choices, and educating on gender equality and justice.
