Abstract

This research is a study of the mediatization of the ḥadīth on Dajjāl (the anti-Christ) in the context of media culture. Mediatization of the ḥadīth through illustrations allows every Muslim to understand the stages and events that will occur at the End of the Time (Ākhir al-Zamān). Such ḥadīth is pre-actual doctrinal texts in Islam. This article uses the theory of mediatization that has a close link with the discipline of media studies and religiosity. We argue that the ḥadīth illus­tration as an expression of religious beliefs is a continuation of the massive use of technology in understanding religious doctrines. On the other hand, the illustration of the ḥadīth. Ḥadīth on the Dajjāl in digital media has formed a new pattern in the understanding of ḥadīth from abstract-imaginative to concrete-imaginative. The illustration of the Dajjāl has become an indication of the widespread role of the media in the spread of Islamic doctrines, and its changing role from being dominated by the texts to being dominated by the logic of religion. This research uses the theory of mediatization with the approach of media culture. The data is obtained from footage of such ḥadīth documentary airing on YouTube accounts. These shows usually refer to preachers who are concerned with conveying the contents of the ḥadīth.

Abstract

Abstract: This article aims to elaborate Sufism thought of Amin Syukur. Hepositioned Sufismas one of the solutions to the problems of modernity who have lost the vision of divinity that result in psychological symptoms, namely spiritual emptiness. Then, the people would become stress and worry wart because of their hopless feeling. For this reason, M. Amin Syukur endorsed the problems of modernity with always optimistic, positive thinking, resting every intention and good deeds only to worship God and sharing (solidarity) for fellow creatures of God. In addition, he recommends to remember (al-żikr) to Godhowever, whenever, and wherever. Remembering God can calm the soul (sakīna) and mind that will affect the nerve, the nerve will affect the glands, the glands will produce healthy liquid. Healthy liquid which is a calm soul effect which will make man have the "immune power" against all diseases. In medical the termis called psycho-neuroen docrine immunology. Furthermore, according to Amin Syukur, problems of modernity can besolved by Sufism through methods like ma'rifa Allāh obtained via stairs of ma'rifa al-nafs, ma'rifa al-nās, and ma'rifa al-kawn. Abstrak: Artikel bertujuan untuk mengelaborasi pemikiran tasawuf Amin Syukur. Ia memposisikan tasawuf sebagai salah satu solusi terhadap problematika kemodernan ini yang sudah kehilangan visi keilahian yang mengakibatkan timbulnya gejala psikologis, yaitu adanya kehampaan spiritual. Akibatnya, orang akan menjadi stres dan gelisah karena merasa tidak mempunyai pegangan hidup. Untuk alasan ini, Untuk alasan ini, M. Amin Syukur mengarahkan penyelesaian problematika kemodernan ini dengan selalu optimis, berpikir positif, menyandarkan setiap niat dan perbuatan baik hanya untuk ibadah kepada Allah dan berbagi (solidaritas) untuk sesama makhluk ciptaan Allah. Selain itu, ia juga menganjurkan untuk selalu ingat (al-dzikr) kepada Allah bagaimana pun, kapan pun, dan dimana pun. Mengingat Allah dapat menenangkan (sakīnah) jiwa dan pikiran yang akan berpengaruh pada syaraf, syaraf akan memengaruhi kelenjar, kelenjar akan mengeluarkan cairan yang sehat. Cairan sehat yang merupakan efek jiwa tenang ini akan menjadikan orang memiliki "daya kebal" terhadap segala penyakit, yang dalam istilah medis disebut psycho neuroen dokrin immunology. Lebih jauh lagi, menurut M. Amin Syukur, problematika kemodernan ini dapat diselesaikan dengan tasawuf melalui metode ma'rifah Allāh yang diperoleh melalui tangga ma'rifah al-nafs, ma'rifah al-nās, dan ma'rifa al-kawn. Abstract

This research is to find out whether Sufistic therapy with the Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) method can cure the behavior of addicts who seek drugs. Research subjects were 4 (four) drug addicts. The physical dependence on drugs that can be overcome by providing drugs with groups as substances commonly consumed to minimize them, but the hardest thing is to change the behavior of addicts who are looking for drugs and consume them again. This study uses a multiple baseline design with AB follow-up design where A is the baseline, B is a Sufistic therapy with SEFT method which allows the stages of set-up, tune in, and tapping, as well as follow-up. Data analysis in this study uses quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis. The quantitative analysis in this study is in the form of graphical explanations of research, while the qualitative analysis is the result of observations and interviews during the research. The results of this study indicate that the hypothesis is accepted where Sufistic therapy with the SEFT method can cure the behavior of addicts who seek drugs.

Abstract

Abstract: This article aims to elaborate on the Quran as the basis of Islamic epistemology in building science. The concept of science in the Quran, from the point of view of philosophy. Framework used to analyze this theme is the philosophical framework. In the paradigm of philosophy, science concepts can be classified in three dimensions; the first, an epistemological dimension, namely the study of philosophy from the aspect of how to acquire knowledge. Part of this philosophy is called the theory of knowledge, namely methodology to gain knowledge or science, or how to obtain a true knowledge; second, the ontological dimension, namely the branch of philosophy that discusses the object of study of science, or the nature of the study of science; and the third, axiological dimension, namely the branch of philosophy that discusses the purpose and use value and the value of the benefits of science. Part of this philosophy better known as the theory of value. And what about his role in building the Islamic sciences in Islamic universities in particular and in the Islamic world in general. Abstrak: Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengelaborasi al-Quran sebagai landasan epistemologi dalam membangun sains Islam. Konsep ilmu dalam al-Quran, ditinjau dari sudut pandang filsafat. Kerangka yang dipakai untuk menganalisis tema ini adalah kerangka pemikiran filsafat. Dalam paradigma filsafat, konsep ilmu dapat diklasifikasi dalam tiga dimensi; pertama, dimensi epistemologis, yakni kajian filsafat dari aspek bagaimana cara memperoleh ilmu pengetahuan. Bagian filsafat ini disebut teori ilmu pengetahuan, yaitu metodologi untuk mendapatkan ilmu pengetahuan, atau cara mendapatkan pengetahuan yang benar; kedua, dimensi ontologis, yakni cabang filsafat yang membahas tentang objek kajian ilmu pengetahuan, atau hakikat segala yang menjadi kajian ilmu; dan ketiga, dimensi aksiologis, yakni cabang filsafat yang mem-bahas tentang tujuan dan nilai guna serta nilai manfaat ilmu pengetahuan. Bagian filsafat ini lebih dikenal dengan teori nilai. Dan bagaimana peranannya dalam membangun sains Islam di perguruan tinggi Islam khususnya dan di dunia Islam pada umumnya. Abstract

According to Sayyid Ahmad ibn Zaini Dahlan that the essence of Tawassul is part of the method of praying, and part of the methodology turn towards Allah swt, tawassul no meaning to humans or creatures ask when praying. But the essence of tawassul goal is to ask Allah swt. Tawassul not act or something ḍarūri/must be implemented so that no tawassul then his prayers are not accepted, but tawassul is as a medium, the method pray to Allah SWT. No one was Muslims who reject the validity tawassul with deeds. Whoever fasts, prayer, reading the Qur'an or charity means he has tawassul with fasting, prayers, readings, and donations. While the Tabarruk is part of the model tawassul to Allah SWT through atsar of mutabarrak (people taken his blessing) is considered to have the blessing because the mutabarrak to Allah SWT and because mutabarrak loved by Allah SWT like the prophets and servants who are pious. So the essence of tabarruk goal is to ask Allah SWT through his beloved servant. As tabarruk with shaleh people so because they believe in the primacy and closeness to Allah SWT to continue to believe their inability to give the goodness or badness refused except by permission of Allah SWT.Menurut Sayyid Ahmad bin Zaini Dahlan bahwa hakekat tawassul adalah bagian dari metode berdoa, dan bagian dari metodologi menghadap kepada Allah swt, tawassul tidak mempunyai arti meminta kepada manusia atau makhluk ketika berdoa. Namun hakekat tujuan dari tawassul adalah memohon kepada Allah swt. Tawassul tidaklah perbuatan atau sesuatu yang  ḍarūri/wajib dilaksanakan sehingga kalau tidak tawassul maka doanya tidak diterima, namun tawassul adalah sebagai media, metode berdoa kepada Allah SWT. Tidak ada seorang pun kaum muslimin yang menolak keabsahan tawassul dengan amal shalih. Barangsiapa yang berpuasa, sholat, membaca Al-Qur'an atau bersedekah berarti ia telah bertawassul dengan puasa, sholat, bacaan, dan sedekahnya. Sedang Tabarruk adalah bagian dari model tawassul kepada Allah SWT melalui atsar dari mutabarrak (orang yang dialap berkahnya) dianggap memiliki keberkahan karena ke­dekatan mutabarrak kepada Allah SWT dan karena mutabarrak  dicintai oleh Allah SWT seperti para Nabi dan Hamba-hamba yang sholeh. Maka hakekat tujuan dari tabarruk adalah memohon kepada Allah SWT lewat hamba yang dicintaiNYA. Adapun tabarruk dengan orang-orang maka karena meyakini keutamaan dan kedekatan mereka kepada Allah dengan tetap meyakini ketidakmampuan mereka memberi kebaikan atau menolak keburukan kecuali atas izin Allah SWT.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the religious thought of an ulama in the face of the diverse social dynamics in the Javanese Islamic are reflected at an interpretation of the Quran. The tradition that developed in Javanese Islamic is one fairly complex dialectic space. This is because the existing of religious traditions in the midst of the Javanese Islamic has various expressions of rituals in religiosity, for example, tahlilan, haul, a pilgrimage to the tomb of trustees and others. The results showed that religious thought of Misbah Mustafa in Tafsir al-Iklil fi Ma'ani al-Tanzil typically displays a distinctive pattern. In this case, the Misbah’s thought not exactly congruent with the construction of traditional Javanese ulama were generally patterned Asy’ariyah (Sunnism), though in many ways still reflects a general pattern of Sunnism. In this case, although much influenced by medieval scholars and Java pesantren, it does not mean Misbah’s thought is replicative. Misbah managed to reconstruct their thinking and consider its relevance to the context of the existing religious social. This is certainly different to most scholars of his day. Thus, the construction of Misbah’s thought in Tafsir al-Iklil is either directly or indirectly has given a new color in the clerical Javanese Islam. In addition, the results of this study also provide the realization that the tradition that developed in Javanese Islamic has a fairly significant influence on the writing of the tafsir of the Quran.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan respon pemikiran ke­agama­an seorang ulama dalam menghadapi dinamika keberagamaan masyarakat islam jawa yang tercermin dalam penafsiran al-Qur’an. Adapun pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah hermeneutika al-Qur’an Farid Esack. Dalam hal ini, terdapat proses eisegesis (memasukkan wacana asing ke dalam al-Qur’an) sebelum exegesis (mengeluarkan wacana dari al-Qur’an). Dengan de­mikian, tafsir al-Qur’an ditempatkan dalam ruang sosial di mana penafsir berada, dengan segala problematika kehidupannya. Sehingga sifatnya tidak lagi ke­araban, tetapi spesifik konteks sosial di mana tafsir ditulis. Hasil penelitian me­nunjukkan bahwa pemikiran keagamaan Misbah dalam Tafsīr al-Iklīl secara tipikal menampilkan corak yang khas. Dalam hal ini, pemikiran Misbah tidak sebangun persis dengan konstruksi pemikiran ulama tradisonal Jawa yang umumnya bercorak As’ariyah (Sunnism), meskipun dalam banyak hal tetap men­cerminkan pola umum Sunnisme. Dalam hal ini, meskipun banyak di­pengaruhi oleh ulama-ulama abad pertengahan dan pesantren Jawa, bukan berarti pemikiran Misbah bersifat replikatif. Misbah berhasil merekonstruksi pemikiran mereka dengan mempertimbangkan relevansinya terhadap konteks sosiol keagamaan yang ada. Hal ini tentu berbeda dengan kebanyakan ulama pada zamannya. Dengan demikian, konstruksi pemikiran Misbah dalam tafsir al-Iklīl ini baik secara langsung maupun tidak, telah memberikan warna baru di kalangan msyarakat Islam jawa. Selain itu, hasil studi ini juga memberikan bukti bahwa tradisi yang berkembang pada masyarakat Islam Jawa memiliki pengaruh yang cukup siknifikan dalam penulisan tafsir al-Qur’an.

Abstract: Renewal of interpretation method require to continue remember to the number of novelty which emerge and not yet been met in a period of the Messenger of God (Rasūl Allāh), friend of ṡe Messenger, and the next generation. Beside, growth of science obliging ṡe understanding of al-Quran also use the sciences utilize to open contents exist in depth so that problems which not yet been “read” in that Holy Book texts can comprehend by people in this time. One other require to be considered is to take things which either from method of hermeneutic to be integrated with interpretation method, though part of it refuse with reason of feebler visible. This article will elaborate integration of hermeneutic with interpretation and some assumed the example more relevant for context nowadays and can be made by alternative interpret choice. Abstrak: Pembaharuan metode tafsir perlu terus dilakukan mengingat banyaknya hal-hal baru yang muncul dan belum ditemui di masa Rasul, sahabat dan generasi berikutnya. Di samping itu, perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan yang mengharuskan pemahaman al-Quran juga menggunakan ilmu-ilmu tersebut guna menguak kandungan-kandungan yang ada di dalamnya sehingga persoalan-persoalan yang belum “terbaca” dalam teks-teks Kitab Suci itu bisa dipahami oleh umat saat ini. Salah satu yang perlu dipertimbangkan adalah mengambil hal-hal yang baik dari metode hermeneutika untuk diintegrasikan pada metode tafsir, meskipun sebagiannya menolak dengan alasan yang tampak lebih lemah. Tulisan ini akan menguraikan integrasi hermeneutika dengan tafsir dan beberapa contohnya yang dianggap lebih relevan untuk kontek kekinian dan dapat dijadikan alternatif tafsir pilihan. Kata-kata Kunci: Integrasi, Tajdīd, Hermeneutik, Tafsir, al-Żikr, dan ta’wīl.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the religious structure of the community of Pucakwangi Village, Pucakwangi District, Pati Regency, Central Java Province. Religious awareness is an important foundation for the formation of religious harmony in diversity. With a qualitative functional structural approach, this study analyzes the structures that form community harmony in its diversity. The results of the study show some basic structures found in the midst of the diversity of the Pucakwangi Village community. Building an attitude of sympathy among followers of religion created with the participation of Christians in "tahlilan" activities, visiting each other in commemoration of religious holidays is another part of the forms of harmony they build together. Counteracting religious radicalism is another aspect of harmony that is built by the community with an awareness of the inter­relationships of their recent lives with their ancestors.

Abstract: Nurcholish Madjid is a Muslim intellectual of Indonesia who has given contribution toward Islamic thinking in Indonesia. Although his thoughts of Islam to be critiqued from other intellectual, he stayed to give enlightenment to Indonesia Muslim society. One of his thought is important about radical monotheism. By it, he offered to Islam umma to adhere pure monotheism in God in order to they will free from tyranny which come from the same human and place man in the same line as it is God Willing. By his concept, the tauḥīd produces social dimensions like equality, freedom, cooperation, and discussion. Abstrak: Nurcholish madjid adalah seorang cendekiawan Muslim Indonesia yang semasa hidup¬nya, telah banyak memberikan sumbangan pemikiran tentang Islam di Indonesia. Walaupun pemikiran-pemikirannya tentang Islam banyak mendapat kritikan dari para cendekiawan yang tidak seide dengan¬nya, ia tetap saja berupaya me-lakukan pen¬cerahan terhadap masyarakat Muslim Indonesia. Salah satu pemikirannya yang sangat menonjol adalah tentang monotheisme radikal. Dia menawarkan agar umat Islam bertauhid yang semurni-murninya kepada Tuhan, sehingga ia terbebas dari berbagai macam tirani yang datang dari sesama manusia dan mem¬posisikan manusia harkat dan martabat yang sama sebagaimana yang dikehendaki Tuhan. Dengan konsep¬nya ini, tauhid menghasilkan dimensi-dimensi sosial seperti persamaan, kebebasan, saling bekerja sama, dan bermusyawarah. Keywords: tauhid, monotheisme radikal, kebebasan, persamaan.

Abstract

This article examines the politics of reconciliation in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. It focuses in particular on the case of Talangsari killings in Indonesia and makes a regional comparison with Thailand, Cambodia, the Philippines and Myanmar. The Indonesian experience illustrates some of the complex issues that arise when attempts are made to dealing with past abuses, especially in the context of the constraints and possibilities faced by new democracies. In a comparative perspective what is being experienced in Indonesia is not new in the sense that, as argued by scholars elsewhere, new democracies also have to face this kind of situation.1 This article argues that dealing with the past human rights abuses brings about real power struggles among the contending actors and power holders and it reflects the power structures within and outside the country. It is suggested that there is no “universal” model for dealing with past human rights abuses but some form of accountability which brings together the elements of prosecution, reconciliation and forgiveness could be considered.
