The Content Mastery among Islamic Education Teachers in Junior Islamic Secondary Schools in Surakarta Munadi, Muhammad

The study aims to describe the content mastery among Islamic Education teachers in all MTs/N (Islamic Secondary School) located in Surakarta. A mixed method was used in this study, where the teachers of MTsN and private MTs in Surakarta involved in this study. Test, interview and documentation became the instruments of this study. For ensuring the validity, the researcher used expert judgment. The data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics. The results of the study showed that in overall the average scores in the Islamic Education materials had been 74 â which was quite low for a teacher. Meanwhile, some of the teachers got only 47 as compared to100 for the maximum score. From four subjects in the Islamic Education, the score of the teachersâ academic test from the highest to the lowest would be displayed as follows: Qurâan Hadits were 76.40; Fiqh was 76.40; SKI was 73.46; and Aqidah Akhlak was 72.40. It Indicated that the content mastery in the Qurâan â Hadits and Aqidah Akhlak had been higher than that of Fiqh and SKI.

The Effect of Problem Based Learning on EFL Studentsâ Critical Thinking Skill and Learning Outcome Bashith, Abdul; Amin, Saiful

This research aims to examine the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) model to studentsâ critical thinking skill and learning outcome. It was conducted on the 11th graders of social science program at SMAN 6 Malang. The research material was the problems of demography. Research method was quasi experiment with non equivalent control group design. The data analysis used t-test technique. The research result showed that PBL learning model affected studentsâ critical thinking skill and learning outcome in SMAN 6 Malang. The average gain score of experimental class is 33.10, higher than control class, which is 16.24. The result of t-test analysis is 0.000 smaller than the significance of 0.05. It is suggested that PBL becomes one of aalternative teaching models that could be implemented to enhance students critical thingking skill.

Zapin consists of three elements which are complementary to create movement harmony and rhythm that beautiful to look, heard and seen.Â They are music, song and dance. Zapin is one culture comes from Arab that developed in archipelago line with Islamization process.Â Zapin in Nusantara grew and developed in accordance with the customs and conditions of the local community.Â It becomes palace art for events such as welcoming guests and celebrations in the kingdom and also entertainment for society.Â The study aims to determine the contribution of Zapin in the Curricullum 2013. A Mixed research was used where the data taken from documentation, observation, and interview. The finding of the study showed that although modern art has been rife enter and expand in the archipelago but Zapin as cultural heritage still exist in society because of its content in accordance with teaching point and attitude of society that moral and spiritual precedence.Â It means that Zapin with all devices containing a core competence value contained in curriculum 2013. It is concluded that the contribution of Zapin as one of Malay traditional arts might contribute to the strengthening of curriculum 2013.

Along with the development of information technology, which more rapidly, the need of a concept and mechanism of Information Technology-based learning becomes inevitable. Then, concept known as e-learning take affect transformation of occurs conventional education into digital form, both the content and the system that is bridged by the technology of internet. The concept of e-learning gives the possibility of interaction between lecturers and students, either the students in the classroom or outside the classroom intensively. This study aimed to obtain e-learning media based Moodle is effective to support the development of science and Islamic studies in Gayo through a series of development process. The finding of the study showed that e-learning based Moodle was conducted by using 4-D model (Four D Model). The results also showed that of development activities are: (1) e-learning media in Gayo which can be seen in www.elearning-gayobelajar.com and (2) the use of guide books for lecturers and teachers. The Finding also indicated that the development of E-learning based Moodle is reliable or has a high level of reliability if t is used in university.

Improving Islamic Studentsâ Ability on Mastering Names and Responsibilities of Angels through Word Guessing Game Yusra, Yosmiza

From the researchers experience in the field, many students were reluctant to ask for any clarification, unwilling to express their opinion, less able to give feedback, and did disruptive behaviors during the learning process. Ideally, students are expected to be active and involved in the learning process and to get good learning outcomes. This study is a Class Action Research (CAR), which attempts to improve students activity and learning outcomes. The research was conducted through four main stages: planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reflection. The research findings from teaching the names and responsibilities of angels through the classical method do not obtain maximum result. On the other hand, word guessing learning model shows better results than that of the classical one. In this model, students are motivated to compete with one another in making and answering the questions. The normally passive students are encouraged to participate actively in learning. Thus, it can be concluded that the learning process with of the game will improve students learning outcomes

Factors Influencing Students` Pronunciation Mastery at English Department of STKIP PGRI West Sumatera Ikhsan, Muhammad Khairi

The research is to find the dominant factors influencing students` pronunciation mastery at English department of STKIP PGRI West Sumatera. This research is using qualitative research method. Total of participants are 10 English students academic year 2016/2017 in English Department of STKIP PGRI West Sumatera who are getting the best mark in pronunciation class. Sample of the research was selected by using purposive sampling technique. The instrument of the research is interview. The purpose of the interview is to get the real arguments about factor influencing students` pronunciation mastery. This research revealed that motivation is the dominant factor influencing students` pronunciation mastery. Most of the students were motivated to increase their pronunciation because they were motivated by native speakers-watching the western or English movies and songs. Besides, they also argued that they wanted to go to overseas so, they should produce the word with correctly pronounced to avoid misunderstanding for both speaker. Based on the data obtained, it can be stated that motivation is the dominant factor influencing students` pronunciation mastery in academic year 2016/2017 at English Department of STKIP PGRI West Sumatera.

High Touch Approach and Its Relationship with Studentsâ Learning Outcomes at IAIN Bukittinggi Ilmi, Darul

Learning without studentsâ center tends to create less passionate students in following the lecture. They tend to ignore their lecturer. They have less attention, and try to create ineffective conditions, therefore, the learning atmosphere will become less effective to achieve the intended goals.Â The purpose of the research is to determine the process of learning, the implementation of High Touch approach, and factors that influence its implementation. Classroom action research approach was used at Â department of mathematics which involve students who enroll at academic year 2016/2017 IAIN Bukittinggi. The research was done in two cycles in which one cycle conducted three meetings. The instruments used were observation, essay questions, and tasks given to students. The results show that there is an improvement in studentsâ participation and activeness in learning when their lecturer builds learning experience through reinforcement, affection, guide, directive action, and good modeling by studentâcenter andself-learning activities, and independent learning skill orientations showed in cycle I and II. It implies that implementing high touch may lead students to be more active, creative, and fun in learning.

The Effect of Improvisation Technique towards EFL Studentsâ Speaking Ability Hadeli, Hadeli; Eviani, Eviani

The purpose of this research was to determine whether Improvisation Technique gave significant difference in teaching transactional and interpersonal conversation text toward studentsâ speaking ability. This research was also aimed to find out which components of studentsâ speaking were mostly improved after using Improvisation Technique. True experimental research was used where the sample was chosen by using cluster random sampling. The result of this research showed that the students had made some progresses. It showed that the mean score of studentsâ speaking ability in experimental class (79.50) was higher than the mean score of studentsâ speaking ability in control class (72.21). It means that teaching speaking by using Improvisation Technique gives significant effect towards studentsâ speaking ability. Based on the research finding, it can be concluded that using Improvisation Technique gave significant effect towards studentsâ speaking ability at class XI of Senior High School 12 Padang. Thus, it is recommended for English teacher should consider the use of Improvisation Technique as an alternative technique in teaching speaking for getting significant effect towards studentsâ speaking ability.

Peaceful in Pesantren: The Involvement of Santriâs Peaceful Environment and Personality

The aim of this study is to identify the characteristics of peaceful personality of adolescent Santri (Islamic students) and their peaceful environment. The subjects of the study are 57 respondents taken from two classes (both male and female classes) of the 11th grade in Madrasah Aliyah (Mualimin) Pesantren Persis 19 Bentar Garut, academic year 2015-2016. Quantitative research was used where the data was analyzed descriptive and correlational statistics. The result of the study showed that average achievement of peaceful personality is considered high in the aspects of intrapersonal and interpersonal peaceful personality. The number of Santriâs perceptions on the condition of Pesantrenâs (Islamic school) peaceful environment is also considered high. The factor of the environmental condition in Pesantren and home, according to the result of study, significantly influences the peaceful personality of adolescent Santri.
