Abstract

Brain -based teaching model is a new paradigm that can facilitate students in optimizing student learning by the functioning the brain as a whole. Lessons are held today assume that all students equally so that learning provide the same services to each student in the class. With this model, the students are given different stimulation according to their abilities and needs. Base on brain learning theory -based teaching, the learning should pay attention to the five needs of the brain in general. The fifth factor is the need for a sense of comfort, the need for interaction, the need for knowledge, the need for the activity and the need for self-reflection. All these needs will be connected if the lecturers able to present emotional learning, social learning, cognitive learning, physical learning and teaching reflection. Key Word : Instrucetional, Brain Based teaching, Learning.Copyright © 2015 by Al-Talim All right reserved

Abstract

Transformation of education in Minangkabau at the Beginning the 20th Century was done by established figure of Islam, such as Abdul Karim Amrullah, Abdullah Ahmad and Rahmah el-Yunusiyah. Abdul Karim Amrullah begins transforming Islamic education by changing the status of Jembatan Besi Surau to become Islamic modern school (Madrasah) with class system, which is known as Sumatera Thawalib. Abdullah Ahmad transforms Islamic education by establishing HIS Adabiyah with school system, and also includes Islamic subjects in the curriculum. Abstract

The purpose of the research is to know the context, input, process and product evaluation on the Social Internship Program (Kukerta) of IAIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi Students by using Participatory Action Research (PAR) system. The research is conducted in four locations of  IAIN Sultan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi students’ Kukerta in first period of 2013; Lubuk Terap, Sengeti Kecamatan Sekernan, unas, and Simpang Tiga Sipin by using questionnaire. All students of Kukerta in these 4 locations, consists of 51 people become the sample of this study. The finding of the study showed that first, context evaluation of PAR system Kukerta programs is actually having many deficiencies and weakness in both determining the needs as well as the purpose of Kukerta program. Therefore, it needs some improvements or revision. Second, input evaluation of  PAR system Kukerta shows some weakness from the students and the internship supervisors/ advisors. Both students and internship supervisors have to be firstly provided by training on  PAR system Kukerta. Third, process evaluation on the program is also lack of the relevant activities towards students’ needs and program realization. Fourth, product evaluation reveals that there is no significant result of the program, physically or non-physically. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to reveal: 1. The influence of in-service Teacher Training Program (PLPG) towards the teacher competency as participant of PLPG; 2. The correlation between gender (X1) towards the teachers’ competency as participant of PLPG; .3. The correlation between Age (X2)  towards the teachers’ competency as participant of PLPG; 4. The correlation between years of service towards the teachers’ competency as participant of PLPG; 5. The correlation between the number of  training followed (X4) towards  teachers’ competency as participant of PLPG; and 6. This research used quantitative method. The population of this research is 1.300 teachers of PLPG in 2013. By using Yamane formulation, there are 220 teachers taken as the sample. The data  was analyzed by using t test  and correlation analysis. The findings of the study suggested that: 1. There is a positive influence of PLPG implementation towards teachers’ competency as PLPG participant; 2. There is no significant correlation between gender (X1) and teachers’ competency as PLPG participant; 3. There is a significant correlation between Age (X2) towards teachers’ competency of PLPG; 4. There is no significant correlation between the Years of Service (X3) towards teachers’ competency as the participant of PLPG; 5. There is a significant correlation between the number of Diklat followed  (X4) towards teachers’ competency as the participant of PLPG; and 6. Abstract

Students’ interpersonal problems with their peers, parents, and teachers have become more critical in the present society that serious attention must be paid to overcome it.  Therefore, Islamic counseling model which is derived from the Quranic principles has been developed to sustain the wealthy condition of individual students. The purpose of this research is to develop an effective Islamic counseling model that may increase students’ interpersonal competency in  MAN I Bandung.  To achieve such a purpose, then, a Research and Development (R&D) through need assessment, development, experiment, and model revise were set up.  A quasi – experiment with “Pretest – Posttest Control Group Designs” procedure has been implemented to test the model being developed. The finding showed that the level of student’s interpersonal competency before the treatment varied greatly. The post-test score after the treatment, however, showed that their interpersonal competencies got significantly improved. This improvement suggests that student’s interpersonal competency should be developed in terms of: self perceptive and other people, self firm, become comfortable with one self and other people, become independent person, realistic expectation to oneself and other people, and self protection in interpersonal situations.Keywords:   Islamic Counseling Model and Interpersonal CompetencyCopyright © 2015 by Al-Talim All right reserved

Abstract

Autonomy in learning is about people taking more control over their learning in the classrooms, the purpose of learn languages and the ways in which they learn them. In this way, technology helps much in learning a language. This paper explores the autonomy as more than preference or strategy by the learner; it must be supported in a systematic way by the teacher and the curriculum for the learner to benefit. The characteristics of successful autonomous learner are explained followed by some examples that shown that learners have in common are that their attitudes were developed after they made their own decision for themselves that exclusively studying in the classroom environment was not enough. The paper also emphasis on technology approaches in developing learner autonomy, especially by using the computer and the internet. Newer technology, particularly the latest online systems, however, allows sound, movement, interactivity (for exercises, demonstrations, online discussion, etc), and the incorporation of genuine material for learning. Keywords: Learner autonomy, technology-based approaches, computer, internetCopyright © 2015 by Al-Talim All right reserved

Abstract

A wave of globalization encourages intercultural contact more rapidly. This led to  an integration between the new values with the old ones that occur outside as well as inside the organization. This encourages the fusion of process and haziness value, even the erosion of the original values of the previously sacred and the identity of a nation. This paper focus on the tradition of Maulid Nabi as one of the local Islamic traditions in Nurul Yaqin Ringan-Ringan Pakandangan Padang Pariaman Boarding School. The tradition of the Maulid Nabi (Prophets birthday) is a particular religious practice as a result of the grounding the normative teachings of Islam into reality. Abstract

Educational curriculum and teacher certification training (PLPG) is structured to ensure that participants are able to absorb learning materials and carry out its function as educators, teachers, counselors, and coaches. PLPG is a tool that allows teachers to carry out its functions effectively so that the wider implications for the learning process. Through the curriculum of teacher professionalism is pursued inherent in life and the life of the teacher.
