Abstract

The aim of this research were to know the effect of various types of livestock manure as maggot growing media on maggot population density and to know various types of livestock manure as maggot growing media that can provide the best results on maggot population density. The study was conducted using a Randomized Block Design Method with 4 treatments with 5 replications as a group, A = broiler manure 50% + tofu waste 50%, B = laying hens manure 50% + tofu waste 50%, C = manure pork 50% + tofu waste 50% and D = 50% cow manure + 50% tofu waste. The result of this study is that various types of livestock manure as maggot growing media have no effect on the maggot population density. Keywords : Livestock manure, maggot, population density.

Abstract

The research implemented in wet labs Department of Fisheries Faculty of Agriculture University of Palangkaraya with the allocation of time of 40 days commencing from February, 27th 2019 to april,7th 2019. This study aimed to the effectivity of ginger (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb) of the survival tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). The research used a pool tarp that is given nets 12 units with a size of 1x1x1 meters and filled with fish samples as many as 40 fishes/net. Fish samples used are tilapia fish with a size of 2 to 3. The experimental design used is RAL (completely randomized design) with 4 treatments with 3 replications. Treatment A (control), treatment B (addition of ginger 3 g/kg feed), treatment C (the addition of ginger 6 g/kg feed), and treatment D (addition of ginger 9 g/kg feed). The results determine the effect of ginger treatment D (additions ginger 9 g/kg feed) in increase survival rate that was 84.1% and growth relative weight that was 1966.72% and the value feed conversion 3.1. Abstract

Wadi is a semi-wet processed product from both livestock meat and fish through a process of salting, adding spices (sugar and samu) then followed by fermentation for a few days to produce a distinctive aroma and taste. The food fermentation process is traditionally carried out by several types of microorganisms that are synergistic, the microbes that play a role in fermentation products are lactic acid bacteria. Washing catfish meat after the salting process can accelerate the fish fementation process from 7 days to 3 days and reduce the salt content in fish meat from 1.13% (without washing) to 0.79% (washed) after a three-day fementation period. The best results of catfish wadi products in this study were C treatment with the following criteria: microbial (LAB) 6,5x104; organoleptic value (appearance, smell, taste and texture) = 7.64 on a hedonic scale. Abstract

This study aims to develop a simple, inexpensive and suitable Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) hatchery technology for low-income communities.. This study evaluated the effectiveness of Nile tilapia hatchery in small tarpaulin tanks with different brood fish sex ratios. The study used a completely randomized design with 3 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment of this study was the ratio male-female of Nile tilapia broods, which included A (1:1), B (1:3), and C (1:5). Fish nursery used small tarpaulin tanks measuring 100 x 100 cm and a depth of 50 cm. The results showed that the average production of fry/female brood was significantly affected by the sex ratio of brood fish. The average production of fry/female was highest in the 1:1 ratio treatment (80.67 fry/female), while the treatment of 1:3 ratio (56.0 fish/female) and 1:5 ratio (49.67 fry/female) were not significantly different. The ratio male-female brood of 1:1 is the best for Nile tilapia fry production in small tarpaulin tanks. The condition of water quality in small tarpaulin tanks was still be tolerated by Nile tilapia, but the water quality was not optimal for Nile tilapia spawning. Water temperature ranges from 25 – 33 OC, dissolved oxygen 1.6 – 5.6 mg/L, and pH 5.59 – 7.68. Keywords : Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), sex ratio, brood fish, tarpaulin tank.

Abstract

The ability of fish to digest food is highly dependent on the completeness of the digestive organs and the availability of digestive enzymes and as long as the feed is in the fish's intestines, the nutrients are digested by various enzymes into a form that can be absorbed by the intestinal wall and enter the fish circulatory system. Therefore, it is necessary to find alternative solutions, one of which is the addition of enzymes to optimize the digestion and absorption of feed, high digestibility will have an impact on the high efficiency of feed utilization. This study aims to determine the effect of the bromelin enzyme feed on the growth and efficiency of feed utilization and to determine how many bromelin doses can increase the growth and feed efficiency of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). The results of this study are expected to provide an overview of the appropriate dose of addition of bromelin enzymes in commercial feed used to increase the growth of tilapia. This study used a completely randomized design (RAL) consisting of 4 treatments (A, B, C, and D) and 3 replications (1, 2, and 3), treatment A used bromelin enzymes with a dose of 5 gr/kg of feed, treatment B used the bromelin enzyme at a dose of 10 g/kg of feed, treatment C used the bromelin enzyme at a dose of 15 g / kg of feed and treatment D as a control (without the addition of bromelin enzymes). Feeding with the addition of bromelin enzymes in tilapia feed shows that feeding containing bromelin enzymes has a very significant effect on growth in absolute weight (.001), absolute length (.000), efficiency of feed utilization (EPP) (.001), but had no significant effect on feed conversion value (FCR) (.064) and survival(0.571) Keywords : Tilapia(Oreochromis niloticus), Bromelin enzyme, growth, feed efficiency.

Abstract

Fermented Mad Barb (Leptobarbus hoevenii) fish with mixed media of rice and sesame is an innovative product with added value. The better the packaging of the fermented mad barb fish will extend the shelf life of it. The aim of this research was to determine the best packaging which based on the growth of the bacterial colonies and the level of consumer acceptance of fermented mad barb fish which has been stored for 30 days at the room temperature. This research used Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 different treatments and 3 repetitions or tests. The treatment in this research was using standing pouch, aluminum foil, and polypropylene (PP) plastic to package the fermented mad barb fish. In this research, the fermented mad barb fish products were stored for 30 days in room temperature then TPC and organoleptic testing were carried out after, where the samples were tested and observed on day 0, day 15, and day 30. The result of this research showed that the packaging of fermented mad barb fish using PP plastic with vacuum technique had good results. It can be seen from the result of the TPC test with the total number of bacterial colonies on the 30th day was the lowest among the others. In organoleptic test also showed that the packaging of fermented mad barb fish showed better results than other packaging in terms of aroma, taste, texture and color. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of pig manure bokashi fertilizer on the growth and yield of Setaria Grass (Setaria spachelata) and to determine the best level of pig manure bokashi fertilizer application that gives the best result on the growth and yield of Setaria. The implementation of this research took place at the practice location of Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Palangka Raya Christian University, Jalan G.S. Rubay Palangka Raya. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 reflications, namely b0 = Pig Manure bokashi fertilizer 0 ton h-1, b1 = Pig Manure bokashi fertilizer 10 ton h-1, b2 = Pig Manure bokashi fertilizer 20 ton h-1, b3 = Pig Manure bokashi fertilizer 30 ton h-1 and b4 = Pig Manure bokashi fertilizer 40 ton h-1. From the result of this study, it can be seen that various levels of pig manure bokashi fertilizer applications have a significant effect on the number of tillers of Setaria grass 6 mst but not effect plant height and production of Setaria grass. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of fermentation time with the addition of Boster Aquaenzym and EM-4 in commercial feed to increase growth and efficiency of feed utilization of Papuyu fish (Anabas testudineus) and to determine the right time to increase growth and efficiency of Papuyu fish (Anabas testudineus. The method used is carried out by fermenting commercial feed for different lengths of time, namely treatment A for 3 days, treatment B for 5 days and treatment C for 7 days. The results of this study showed that commercial fermented feed had the highest value in treatment C for 7 days with the highest value of weight growth. in treatment C (7,63) and feed utilization efficiency with the highest value in treatment C (95,91%). The addition of Boster Aquaenzym and EM-4 in fermented commercial feed proved to be good for growth and good feed quality. Abstract

The development of fish egg embryos can be influenced by environmental factors, one of which is water temperature. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of incubation temperature on the development of climbing perch fish eggs (Anabas testudineus Bloch). The benefit of this research is as a concentration of appropriate technology for the development of climbing perch fish hatchery in a sustainable manner. The effectiveness of the use of incubation temperature on the development of climbing perch fish egg embryos is that the incubation temperature of 29oC is very good for the development of climbing perch fish embryos starting from the cell division process to hatching eggs, the length of time for hatching eggs is 24 hours, the percentage rate of hatching eggs is 92% and the percentage rate the abnormality of climbing perch fish larvae is 5.43%. Abstract

This study aims to determine the comparison between live weight and carcass weight of broiler chickens added with yellow corn for commercial purposes. To determine the relationship between live weight and carcass weight of broiler chickens added with yellow corn in commercial feed. The research was conducted at the practice and research location of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Palangka Raya Christian University. The measurement aspect includes the independent variable (live weight) and the dependent variable (carcass weight). Test the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable with a simple linear regression statistical test with a real test level of 0.05. Data processing used SPSS version 17 computer program and the study used 80 broiler chickens and each treatment used 4 tails. The results of this study showed that the ratio between live weight and carcass weight of broiler chickens added with yellow corn in commercial feed was quite high, ranging from 69.48-71.54%. And the correlation ranged between (r = 0.566-0.975). There is a very strong relationship between live weight and carcass weight of broiler chickens, namely in treatment B (5% yellow corn + 100% BR) and treatment C (10% yellow corn + 100% BR), while a strong relationship is in treatment A (without yellow corn) and treatment D (15% yellow corn + 100% BR).
