Abstract

Wadi is one of the results of the highly favored traditional processing by Borneo people. This product is too salty, so it is necessary to find ways to reduce the salt content of wadi. Method to reduce the salt content in the fish meat is to do the washing Salting fish meat after processing is complete. This study aimed to determine the effect of fish meat after salted and washing in order to obtain the ideal flavor of wadi fish and good nutritional value. So it can be adopted by the community for the diversification of processed fishery products. Research results showed that treatment C give best result of wadi toman fish (Channa micropeltes) with nutritional value as follows: protein = 19,69%; salinity = 0,81%, Fat = 2,30%, and organoleptic value (taste) = 7.82.

Abstract

Mining, logging and forest fires along the stream Kahayan and Katingan in Central Kalimantan effected of Hg, Cd and Pb in river and estuarine waters rise. The aim of this study was to evaluate the content of Hg, Cd and Pb in the hardfin bone of Catfish in estuaries. Samplings were done once a month and three replicates per station for four months. Extracts of Hg, Cd and Pb were contained within the hardfin bone tissue of Catfish were analyzed using Atomic absorption Spectrophotometer. The results showed that all catfish hardfin bone samples in the estuary Kahayan containing an average of 0.018 mgHg/kg, 0.029 mgCd/kg and 0.944 mgPb/kg; hardfin bone tissue of Catfish in the estuary Katingan river containing an average of 0.021 mgHg/kg, 0.027 mgCd/kg and 0.802 mgPb/kg. Hardfin bone of Catfish had the capacity to accumulate Hg higher than Cd and Pb.

Abstract

Feeding by supplement food can promote the growth and survival of climbing perch fry, because climbing perch is omnivorous fish. This study aimed to determine the relative weight of growth of climbing perch fry (Anabas testudineus Bloch) were given maggot as supplement food using peat water media. The results of the study, feeding as much as 3% in a given day morning and 1% pelleted feed given during the day mixed pellet feed maggot 1% and given the afternoon to feed the maggot 1% growth of 35.6% relative weight and condition factor of 2:21 with a feed conversion rate of 3.40. Maggot is one outcome of the bioconversion of organic materials into organic vegetable animal with a relatively high protein content by fermentation of the fungus.

Abstract

The increasing fish production through continuous fishing effort has not always been able to survive due to the pressure on water resources in the future more and more powerful, so if the fishing is done with attention to conservation norms, would adversely affect the sustainability of aquatic resources. To solve these problems, the city government of Palangka Raya took a policy to utilize existing lakes in the area of alternatives to the development of aquaculture. Hanjalutung lake is one of the lakes located in watersheds Rungan river own ends and is one of public waters is considerable potential for local communities as a source of fishing effort. The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyze of the social condition of communities, as well as level of profitability of fishing communities around the lake. Methods of analysis of the social conditions of community around the lake is obtained by using a questionaire and analyzed descriptively, and economic aspect is analyzed by looking at the benefits of fishing communities. The results of the observations on the social aspects, that the average age of the population most productive age (38,5 years), level of formal education among primary school graduation (53,34%) by the number of members in an average family of 4-5 people (48,33%). The result of the analysis of fishing effort is still profitable.

Abstract

White mustard represent the delicious leaf vegetable likely and also many containing vitamin A and vitamin C and also a few/little vitamin B. On that account seen from its vitamin content, hence white mustard represent the leaf vegetable which enough good for our body. The research aimed at knowing the effects of doses from quail manure to growth and production of white mustard crop and to obtain get the doses of quail manure able to give the growth and production of highest white mustard crop. This research represent the field attempt use the Group Random Design with five group as replication accurate by factor doses from quail manure (p) with five level that is 0 t ha-1 (p1), 10 t ha-1 ( p2), 15 t ha-1 ( p3), 20 t ha-1 ( p4) and 25 t ha-1 ( p5). The result of this research indicate that the giving fertilizer of the quail manure 15 t ha-1 give the highest variable to crop length, the giving fertilizer of the quail manure 20 t ha-1 give the highest variable to crop length (10 hst and 17 hst), wide of leaf, dirty weight, clean weight and dry weight.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the stimulation of carp pituitary extract on the spawning of climbing perch and also to determine the effectiveness of the use of natural food results from fertilization to climbing perch larval survival. After the granting of pituitary extract increased the diameter of the eggs at the end of treatment A (0.70 mm) = 125 eggs, treatment B (0.70 mm) = 125 eggs, treatment C (0.70 mm) = 135 eggss. While climbing perch without pituitary extract (treatment D) egg at the end diameter there is still a size 0.50 mm = 4 eggs, 0.60 mm = 87 eggs and 0.70 mm = 109 eggs. After mixing climbing perch brood, the treatment A, B and C courtship and spawning occurs as a result of gonadotropin stimulation by the pituitary gland extract. Relative growth rate of climbing perch larvae given natural food reared for 1 month ranged 11208.00% - 6982.61%. Relative growth rate fastest in treatment C fed with 60 liters of filtered with an average relative growth rate 11208.00%. Treatment A and B decreased the relative growth rate, because natural food given limited and may not be used for growth.

Abstract

The study was conducted in the estuarine Kahayan and Katingan, Central Kalimantan. This study aim was to evaluate the content, distribution and effects of Pb, Hg and Cd on bone tissue and Catfish hard fins morphology. Study of content, the distribution of accumulated Pb, Hg and Cd conducted to provide information to the public about the characteristics of Catfish containing Pb, Hg and Cd. Results showed that Catfish hard fins bone containing Pb > Hg > Cd. Distribution of accumulated Pb, Hg and Cd in hard fins bone tissue tend to occur in clusters than random. Accumulation of Pb in hard fins bone tissue associated with Hg and Cd. Association of Pb, Hg and Cd in hard fins bone tissue occur clustered in a location over the role in inducing hard fins bone abnormal morphology. Effects of Pb, Hg and Cd accumulation in Catfish hard fins bone tissue cause its twisted irregular, partial bone hard fin thick and thin, hollow, appearing bumps, and abnormal bone jagged, brittle and easily broken. Abnormal growth of hard fins bone tissue, as found in normal bone hard fins.
