Abstract

The environmental friendly ranch development and base on the local resources represent the strategic step in realizing the quality and amount of ranch product. Exploiting of livestock waste as organic manure in agriculture crop longer progressively expand. One of the way of exploiting livestock waste dirt with the processing bokashi. This experiment was conducted to know the manure to quality bokashi. This experiment using Complete Random Device with the single treatment of kind of manure ( P), that are manure from cow ( p1), chicken ( p2), goat ( p3) and pig ( p4). The result of this experiment are some kind of manure have an effect on to quality bokashi among others content of element of hara P and K while from colour, smell and tekstur is not different from colour, smell and tekstur materials. All type of manure have not effect on to content of N and C/N ratio bokashi. Bokashi from pig manure have the highest content of P, and bokashi from goat manure have the highest K from the other bokashi.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the structure of macrozoobenthos community in Rungan river floodplain ecosystem and compare macrozoobenthos abundance in each sampling station. This study was conducted in October 2013 located in one of the existing swamps of Rungan river floodplain is in Dapur Lake, Marang District, Palangka Raya. With the number of observation stations as much as 4 station is at the inlet , middle and outlet of the swamp . The method used is the method of survey, and samples then analyzed in the laboratory . The result is a diversity of macrozoobenthos in station 1, there are 4 classes of insect, station 2 there are 5 classes of insects and nematodes, station 3 there are 3 classes of insects and at station 4 there is one class of insect. The macrozoobenthos dominance is Zavrelimyia sp at station 1 , Procladius sp at station 2, whereas for station 3 is dominated by Chironomus sp and Clinotanypys sp, at station 4 is dominated by Chironomus sp . The highest density of macrozoobenthos 755 ind/m2 at stations II and the lowest density 89 ind/m2 at station IV. The higest diversity index (H ') at station II and the lowest at station IV . Index of Evenness (E) was highest at stations III and the lowest at station IV , with the dominance index was highest at station IV (by Chironomus sp).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of field grass and leaf of lamtoro gung on body weight gain and final body weight of local male hare. This experiment using completely randomized device (CRD), with five treatment and four replications. The result showed that the use of field grass and leaf of lamtoro gung have significant effect on body weight gain and final body weight of local male hare.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and inventory of potentially pathogenic species of parasites cause disease in ornamental fish, both caught in the Lais lake and the domestication activities. Beside is to know the relationship between water quality with a prevalence, intensity and dominance of parasites that attack ornamental fish in domestication. The reseach activities were conducted since January 20, 2010 until March 16, 2010. The fish samples collected from the fishermen were identificated and inventoried by means of recording of parasite type, amount and organs attack the fish using the identification book (Kabata, 1985) and the identification key of parasite by Bykhovskaya, et al. (1964) and calculated the value of domination. The results showed four parasitic protozoan species were Myxobolus sp, Glossatella sp, Vorticella sp., Chilodonella sp. and one species of non-protozoan (worms) was Dactylogyrus sp. in Lais lakes and in the domestication.

Abstract

“Wadi” is one of the traditional products which are highly preferred in Central Kalimantan and South Kalimantan. It is produced through a fermentation process for a minimum of 7 days, but the taste is still not obtained maximum. This study aims to determine the effect of adding palm sugar (Arenga pinnata Wurmb Merrill) to the taste of wadi from catfish in order to the adopted by people. The results showed that the best treatment in this study was the addition of palm sugar as much as 2.5%, and the nutritional values of wadi are follows: 27.86% of protein, 2.22% of fat, and 61.11% of water content. The mean value of organoleptic with criteria of like level given by seven trained panelists on appearance, aroma and taste is 7,71.

Abstract

The aim of this research were to know the effect of some kind compound fertilizer that giving the best result of vegetative growth and production of elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum). This research was designed by using Completely Random Design with the kind of compound fertilizer as single factor experiment, m0 = control (without compound fertilizer), m1 = compound fertilizer (16:16:16), m2 = compound fertilizer (15:15:6) and m3 = compound fertilizer (20:10:10). The result showed that the applications compound fertilizer giving the influences to the vegetative growth and production of elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum). The vegetative growth and average production show the same tendency where the compound fertilizer (16:16:16) do not different from the compound fertilizer (15:15:6), but the compound fertilizer (16:16;16) giving the highest than the other compound fertilizer and control.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the influence of type and concentration of substance of chicken nugget to chemical content and nugget palatability. This research was done by using three types of substance. Those are maizena, tapioca and wheat; three concentrations, those are 0%, 1.5%, 2.5%. The result of this research was the chemical nugget product quality with different types and concentration has variation. The highest water content was found in nugget with 2.5 % tapioca, and the lowest was in nugget maizena 2.5%. Meanwhile, the highest ash content was in nugget maizena 1.5% and the lowest was in nugget without any substance (0%). The highest protein content was in nugget without any susbstance (0%) and the lowest was in wheat nugget 2.5%. For each highest and lowest fat contents was on maizena 1.5% and wheat nugget 2.5%, while the highest carbohydrate content was in maizena 1.5% and the lowest was in nugget without any substance (0%). Preference test showed that nuggets with maizena, tapioca and wheat as substances on different concentration relatively were liked and acceptable, all product color, texture, solidness, smell and taste. It was concluded that nugget with 1.5% maizena as substance has the best chemical quality among the treatments.

Abstract

This study aims wants to provide information about the natural food needed by the fish. The goal is to determine the effect of different food sources on growth of ‘Kelabau Padi’ fish (Osteochilus melanopleura) reared in hapa pond. These results are expected to provide valuable input for ‘Kelabau Padi’ fish farming, by looking at the growth rate, food conversion, factor conditions, mortality and water quality. Food sources used are trash fish (wet) plus Ipomoea leaves (wet) and mixed with fine bran, trash fish (wet) plus coconut cake (wet) and mixed with fine bran, and handmade artificial food containing 30 % protein.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the broiler chicken farm income on household scale farm Karya Bakti Village, Rungan subdistrict, Gunung Mas, Central Kalimantan and to determine the feasibility of their business. This study used a descriptive quantitative methods and techniques of data collection by observation and interview.. The results of this study has get incomes Rp.8.450.461,33 /period and R/C ratio of 1.698. Thereby the broiler farm business in Karya bakti village elegible to be developed.

Abstract

Rotifers are one potential plankton to have bioactive compounds. This study is an initial step to reveal the presence of bioactive compounds in rotifers and is expected to bring a breakthrough in the discovery of indigenous bioactive compounds. Plankton was collected with plankton nets by pulling the nets horizontally on the surface of the waters. For extraction, Brachionus rotundiformis was cultured with different salinity. Micro algae were used as rotifer feed. It is a kind of Nannochloropsis oculata. with salinity of 4 ppt, 40 ppt, 50 ppt and 60 ppt. Tested bacteria was Vibrio cholerae, Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli. Comparator antibiotics were amoxicillin and tetracycline. Paper disc method was used measure antibacterial activity. Antibacterial activity of B. rotundiformis was measured. Antibacterial activity of B. rotundiformis was measured. They were cultured on salinity of 4 ppt, 20 ppt, 40 ppt, 50 ppt, 60 ppt with N.oculata feed. The resullts showed most large clear zone formed by B. rotundiformis cultured on 40 ppt salinity to inhibit E. coli, it was 4.66 mm in diameter. In general, 40 ppt salinity is the most potential trigger of B. rotundiformis to produce antibacterial compounds compared with lower or higher salinity. The antibacterial activity was affected by different salinity.
